I need another handbag. I really do. A cross body/satchelly type. Like last year's Boden one. Any reccomendations?

Or what is the ideal bag in your opinion? Was going to get Cath Kidston messenger bag, but when I went to get it, it was enormous. It seems to be designed for very tall women.

I prefer cross body as leaves hands free and feel safer, would consider shoulder bag, if long straps, don't like bag tucked under my armpit.

had a quick look at boden preview, tehre is a nice satchel but the colours are a bit meh.

I have the Autograph one, in an earlier colourwaybut same design. I like it a lot, but it's not really very big. Fine if I'm carrying my books, etc in a separate bag or for outings where I don't need to carry a lot, but not otherwise.

I've ordered the Boden leather one in tan, so am hoping it's a nice colour when it arrives.

PS Didn't pay £99 for the Boden one though - got it in 20% off preview. I expect they'll be having more reductions when they launch the spring range.

I bought an across the body Saccoo bag recently and am really pleased with it. It's like a squishy satchel and not too large. It is made of lovely thick but soft and supple leather that reminds me of bridles and saddles; sturdy construction but really good finish and workmanship - good zips, fasteners and stitching. It was about £80. The company have lots of messenger style bags and seem to do lots of colours so may be worth a look.

White Stuff did a satchel similar to the Boden one this winter, as did Next. I have the White Stuff one & it is big enough for a paperback + overstuffed purse + phone. Not sure if they are still in stock though...
