And the top I wanted came miraculously back into stock! :)))))))

I have just sent back

  • the sheepskin boots in grey, too hard and not cosy enough
  • the navy cashmere wrap, too shapeless
  • the navy cashmere kaftan (block of colour at the bottom made by hips and bum look huge
  • 2 Ravello tops, the colours did not flatter and they arrived very creased, auguring poorly for future demands on the ironing board.

I did keep the peacock pencil skirt (a combination of boots, socks, leggings and one of those velvet skirts has been both warm and smart enough for work this winter). Also a camisole in berry.

CointreauVersial · 08/01/2011 16:53

My Boden parcel has just arrived! Woo hoo! The verdict as follows:

Purple Ikat scarf - leurvely!

Ruffle Top - well it was OK. Much shorter and tighter than I was expecting, which means I'll probably wear it with my denim skirt, but it fits quite nicely, so I'll keep it. Worried it shrieks Boden, though...

Charcoal Posey Floaty Printed Dress - came up quite big and shapeless around the waist, but I can just re-sew the darts on the back which will take up some of the slack. Simples. Still not sure if it's "me" and no way worth the full price, but I'll see what dh says. Looks cute with a long cardi and biker boots, though.

Just need to wrestle with the guilt of having spent £56 on clothes when we are supposed to be "economising" Blush

Is anyone sending back the petrol dahlia Chelsea dress in 12r?

There was one when I ordered the black, but I thought I would take a 14. Not so it seems.

It is the nicest print I have seen anywhere ever!

Meggles76 · 08/01/2011 20:48

Am awaiting th arrival of my navy boden cardi!

CointreauVersial · 10/01/2011 22:54

I decided to exchange the Charcoal Posey Floaty Printed Dress for the size 10 in the end, rather than take it in - it was rather massive all over. Fingers crossed it's a better fit.

SerendipityAlways · 11/01/2011 09:08

Got my beautiful purple Islington coat at the week end - its gorgeous, and fits like a dream, and very true to size! Goes very well with lots in my wardrobe already. A very smart coat, suitable for any occasion.

CabbagefromaBaby · 11/01/2011 10:23

Well ours arrived late last night.

The boys' stuff was pretty good, not sure on puffa jacket/bodywarmer thingy as he looks like a giant sausage in it. Weird.

But it will save on returns postage if we keep it..

my stuff; the chic revere cardi was much too shiny but a lovely shape. If it had been more soft, woolly stuff I'd have kept it for sure. But shiny crochet, no. Such a shame.

Olive uptown trousers were ok but a bit tight round the arse and the waist is in a really uncomfortable place so they are going back...wool skirt also going back as despite a good fit etc it is still too dear at £27 for a tiny little skirt.

Holland park dress was almost impossible to do up the zip, made my tits look saggy (no bra but even so!) and I couldn't reach forward due to tight shoulders/armholes.

So it's being swapped for a 12 as the colours are gorgeous - gold/purple is actually pale green/purple and I love it.

Luckily they had a 12 left but am keeping 10 just in case..

polyhymnia · 11/01/2011 10:43

Had similar experience to employmentlaw - ordered the navy cashmere kaftan-style tunic at half price. Basic shape fine but unsubtle bands of bright colour spoiled it, so going back.

SerendipityAlways · 11/01/2011 10:49

Cabbage - I got the Holland Park dress also in a 10 and was very very pleased with it! and a little bit suprised as it did not hit me straight away as a dress I would like. I'm very small on top, so liked the snug nature of the fit. Also like the length which just hits the knee.

I've worn it several times now and its great, very comfortable and figure flattering. I have it in the purple ikat design.

CabbagefromaBaby · 11/01/2011 11:05

Oh that's good Seren...I think I have very broad shoulders and have sent back a Boden coat before because I couldn't reach to pick up ds! It's fine when I stand still but there is not a lot of room across the back of it for those with wider shoulders.

I hope the 12 will sort out these issues, the fabric is gorgeous, really really soft and lovely and the colours are beautiful.

I did get the green and red pattern as well but it wasn't so subtle.

SerendipityAlways · 11/01/2011 11:32

Cabbage - I like the sound of the purple/gold aka green design. Might see if theres any left in my size, even though I swore no more buying! I'm a real dress person.

I hope the 12 works out for you!

CabbagefromaBaby · 11/01/2011 11:59

thankyou Smile I always think if you know you will use something, it's worth getting.

I have just seen the blue is back in stock so have ordered that too.

I don't often wear dresses but hope to more once ds2 stops breastfeeding.

Northernlurker · 11/01/2011 21:44

I had the wool jersey dress arrive today - v nice and good for work. Also another uptown top. MUST stop buying things now Grin
