What colours go with pale pink?

I bought this fabric today www.tessuti-shop.com/products/queens-quartz, planning to make a summer dress but then started to think that I probably have enough dresses and that it would make a nice autumn blouse. Only problem is I can't work out what colour skirt it would go with. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I would match it with a strong dark grey or strong dark brown. I wouldn't go for the pale/pale combo. Not against black Wink

Suppose it depends on what suits you re pale/strong colours.

Arctic roll? You're on.
Can I wear my genuine 1970s multi coloured polyester blouse?

tethersend · 31/12/2010 17:25

I insist. As long as you let me borrow it Grin

OMG - I didn't expect so many replies. Who would have thought it would be such a controversial question? I'm sorry I wasn't around - have been having a busy new year.

Anyway, I think the pink does have orange undertones - it looks almost flesh coloured. I usually wear darker colours - black, browns, navy now that it is around again. Navy suits me better than black, I think. I can't do grey at all. Pink is the only light colour I tend to wear.

I am more confused than ever now, though, and am thinking about taking the easy option and doing a dress...

I think I would go with the dress option. Then you don't have to worry what it will go with. And it is a lovely fabric and will stand out more on it's own and not fighting with another colour I think.

Can I say that if pale pink "goes" with black, then so do all the pastels- bar yellow and green maybe.

It is not so much a case of "goes with" ie doesn't clash, but does the black enhance the subtle colour of the other item?

It's a bit like saying everyone can wear black. I can't. near my face it ages me by ten years.

IMO the only colours that look good with black are black, grey, chocolate and possibly camel/taupes.

But we will never all agree so OP do what you want!
