Have just ordered this in grey leopard (will probably go back), this and long grey cardi to wear with belt over skinnies. Need some more animal print in my life while DH is still chasing the LV leopard scarf Wink.

LetThemEatCake · 28/12/2010 20:04

Nice work fritzi Smile. by the way, I was thinking of you and oww as I made a gingerbread house with my dc on Christmas day.

I got a pair of goldsign skinny jeans for birthday and begoggled (word? Never mind, I like it) at what they do to my legs. Chopstickage, even to my jaundiced eye!! About 250, but cheaper than lipo Grin

Hit the rl sales with my sister last night.. Selfridges, toppers, liberty. Followed by dinner and drinks. Home at 4am. Ouch. Early night tonight, wedding tomorrow!!

Lrd owners, hope you are planning to wear on nye? Tis good luck, they say..

blossoming · 28/12/2010 20:12

fritzi, it's a long shot, and I've no linkage potential, but I wonder if the leopard print cardigan from Pure Collection is on sale. I'm sure it would look great on you.

LetThemEatCake · 28/12/2010 20:24

here it is fritzi. £ saving of £40

has anyone seen a kind of slouchy sequin/ lurex tank top? want one to wear with skinny jeans ....

can be gold or silver ...

plum sorry about your contract, also about annoying ILs. My siL asked, rather pointedly, on Boxing Day whether I was happy with my weight?

Vin am keeping everything crossed that 2011 starts for you without P. But in fab red dress Grin

blossoming · 28/12/2010 20:49

ltec, I am always 'tops deficient'! I have no decent going out ones. Saw a cowl neck splendid one on nap yesterday. Bit boring though. I hope someone can help you, silver pref for me though!
Well done on surviving Christmas everyone!!

PlumSykes · 28/12/2010 20:54

Why won't this stupid site let me post?

OP posts:
PlumSykes · 28/12/2010 20:57

Oh, it's like that is it, MN?

What I was trying to say was:

Evening all,

nod of recognition to Mrs SB

Well, I did go to the sales, and my LORD it was hideous. HORRENDOUS even. Nothing that looked even vaguely appealing, and the shops heaving with ghastlies from out of town. I managed to get a couple of birthday presents and a new baby present, plus a Lancome mascara that had £6 off. Not worth the hellish crowds and heat though, not at all.

A navy dress caught my eye in the window of Dotty P, but the queues were horrid, and as it's not in the sale, there is no rush.
Not sure that I've ever 'done the sales' so close to Xmas before, or at least not since my student days, when £20 used to get me a new outfit to wear out clubbing that same night.
Never again, quoth Plum.
I too shall be back on Dukan once DH goes back to work-not entirely fueled by Mil's husband's helpful comments, but partly. I'll just finish these mince pies up first.

LTEC Where do you get your stamina?!

Bonsoir My mother bought it at the Christies auction. She likes to look at it! We have both met him too.

My parents left today and have made it safely back home. The house feels very quiet.

I am wearing the fluffiest pair of pyjamas I have ever seen. They are so lovely I could wear them all the time! Not very stylish but boy are they cosy! Xmas Grin

PlumSykes · 28/12/2010 21:03

Cheers, CAKE, 'tis a bit of a shitter about the work, but have something else in wishful pipeline. Mil's DH is just an utter arse, felt like hissing "Stop staring at my bum if I've that fat, you great pervert!" He really makes me shudder.

At least SIL was on good form, has had Botox which she hasn't told Mil, so we hid in bathroom and made frown-faces in mirror at each other and cackled with laughter. Would have been better with Champagne though!

bloss and cake I love, love, love that cardigan! Sold out completely . Have bookmarked anyway in case there are returns. Do you think it is worth ringing customer services to see if they can find me one?

FritziGreenEyes · 28/12/2010 21:07

hf You have met Nureyev?

hf128219 · 28/12/2010 21:10

Fritzi Indeed I have! He kissed me on the cheek.

PlumSykes · 28/12/2010 21:10

This would be great on you, Cakelette, and this is also www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Mango+Lurex+tank+top/145971598,default,pd.html?cm_mmc=Googlebase--Clearance--Women-_-Mango_Lurex_tank_top.

I'm also coveting this and this. Sales prices but but can't really justify to spend that much on a dress.

PlumSykes · 28/12/2010 21:18

Or sequins, Cake?

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 28/12/2010 21:20

hf I'm intrigued. Please come to next meet-up and tell me all about it Smile.

Have we agreed on the 19th March?

PlumSykes · 28/12/2010 21:33

I can make the 19th, Fritzi. I shall make the 19th, in fact.

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 28/12/2010 21:34

Great plum! Who else?

blossoming · 28/12/2010 21:36

Sorry fritzi, I should have linked it before Christmas. Definitely worth contacting them. I recently bought two merino polo necks from them and found them reassuringly lovely to deal with.

FritziGreenEyes · 28/12/2010 21:38

bloss No worries! I am not exactly deprived of shopping opportunities Smile

blossoming · 28/12/2010 21:41

I'm coming!

Fleecy · 28/12/2010 21:43

Cake Plum beat me to it, suggesting House of Fraser. They've got several, including a nice rose gold sequin one with a big bow on the front but it's got a dipped hem I wasn't sure about. And it's £75 so, y'know, a bit much for a top on a whim!

I did the sales today but just nipped to HoF to the Mulberry concession at 7pm with DD in tow and left DH and DS to play 'cricket' in the hallway at home. It was very quiet so we were in and out.

I was trying to get hold of the camel suede leopard print Bayswater pouch (think I mentioned before but can't remember) but no luck. Bought it in plum instead which I'd seen on the website but wasn't sure about the colour. 'Tis much nicer IRL. Have it next to me on the chair so I can look at it Blush

Good on you for staying out until 4 cake I love a good night out!

bunny glad to hear your DDs were so beautifully co-operative for Christmas dinner.

tracey Happy belated birthday to your DS2

vin no advice on whether or not you should change career but if you do decide to go for it, a word of encouragement. DH did it when he was 25 and he initially found it hard to be taken seriously but once he'd found someone to take him on, he never looked back and is much happier now. He dropped to less than minimum wage as he was training on the job so things were pretty tight but we managed. You just do!

Some truly lovely links, especially loving plum's gladiators.

Yes cake I will be wearing my new P&J on NYE even though will be at home.

traceybath · 28/12/2010 21:43

Definitely me for the 19th.

In fact we should book a hotel soon methinks.

And I need to go on a new year diet - honestly I have not stopped eating for days. Put jeans on for first time today as have been wearing lots of dresses and oh dearie dearie me.

Think may order the topshop jamies in coated black as my gap ones have lost their coating - do the tosho ones wash well?

Also looking forward to the brora sale as would like a cardigan in pretty colour for spring and some of those nice tights.

LetThemEatCake · 28/12/2010 21:44

plum you little ripper: they are all, variously, perfect.

I got a slouchy reiss lurex sweater for birthday in palest gold (wore the other night with skinny jeans and leopard flats) and I love it so much that it got me coveting a sleeveless version.

hf coffee and nerves, that's all!! Astonishing about Nureyev. Vicariously starstruck!

Think 19th seemed ok for most...?

fritzi deffo worth a go on the cardi, their customer service is pretty good

Had a good sales experience last night, think going late helped. Bought rather a lot Blush Best bargain? Topshop harems in black lurex. I mean, I'm sure they're so over but honestly, sparkly tracksuit bottoms, comfort and glamour... How could I resist?? They were only £15!!!

bunnymother · 28/12/2010 21:46

Fritzi - love the black and White butterfly dress!

Re meet up on 19 March I am coming! DH just said yes (admittedly while reading but it still counts!).
