Just ordered it! here is is... I am in love! Will put long sleeve T under for warmth.

Do you all dress up for Christmas day?

OP posts:
CheeseCheese · 26/11/2010 23:22

its rather amphibian
yes we all wear glittery knitwear

CurlyhairedAssassin · 26/11/2010 23:24

Grin at glittery knitwear. Yep - circa 1987.

Iatemyskinnyperson · 26/11/2010 23:32

pfffft. Amphibian my arse.

OP posts:
BelligerentGhoul · 26/11/2010 23:34

I like that dress, though it would look hideous on me.

Nope, we don't dress up at all - unless we get a new jumper, in which case it must be worn. No glitter though. :)

CurlyhairedAssassin · 26/11/2010 23:35

Ohhhhhh.....just had another look......it IS rather amphibian....

have we put you off, OP?!

Figgyrolls · 26/11/2010 23:36

I quite fancy a bit of glitter - but sadly am too fat from new baby to even consider it!

QueeferSantaland · 26/11/2010 23:40

Yes!
My family dress for christmas.
We are usually quite, um, casual, so it's great fun.

First year I went to inlaws for christmas I arrived in a long red dress and they were all wearing jeans and new jumpers! I looked a twat playing on the Wii in a frickin' frock.

I like your dress, OP.Smile I would wear it with a red T for extra christmasness.Grin

Iatemyskinnyperson · 26/11/2010 23:42

No you have not! Just cos its green? I can't see anything else frog-like about it. Green is a perfectly good colour.

Clique-y cows. Flounce

OP posts:
BelligerentGhoul · 26/11/2010 23:44

Is it green? It looked grey on my computer. I only like it if it's grey!

Iatemyskinnyperson · 26/11/2010 23:46

That was to curlyhairedassasin... QueeforS,thanks!

OP posts:
maize · 26/11/2010 23:47

That thing in the middle of it is quite phallic isn't it?

Its nice though, v.festive and dressy but not too posh.

We try up but then I feel like a twat all dressed up and with slippers on.

mamatomany · 26/11/2010 23:51

I have just treated myself to this:www.harrods.com/product/issa/ruch-waist-dress/000000000002290928?cat1=b-issa&cat2=b-issa-all
With £100 off from Hardods plus and extra 10% so not too bad (GIFT100)
Just need to check on the shoe situation but am hoping it'll do for a meal out, Christmas day and DS's Christening.

mamatomany · 26/11/2010 23:52

*Harrods even, can you tell I'm excited not used to treating myself Blush

Iatemyskinnyperson · 26/11/2010 23:53

That is gorgeous - very sexy!

OP posts:
tulpe · 26/11/2010 23:59

We always get dressed up even tho tis usually just DH me and DCs.

Not liking the dress from the op to be honest.

Figgyrolls · 27/11/2010 00:24

mama, how did you get £100 off am super jealous!

mamatomany · 27/11/2010 00:29

I received an email offering 10% off when I registered "Plus, receive a generous £100 off when you spend £250* by entering GIFT100 at checkout."
I guess it would work for everyone, I think I've saved £135 in total.
Dh is very impressed, I just hope it looks nice over my lumpy post baby body, but there's always spanx.

FiveOrangePips · 27/11/2010 00:30

I think their should be a disclaimer on s&b for newbies along the lines of the one at the top of AIBU i.e Note: Please bear in mind that whilst this topic does canvass opinions, it is not a fight club. HollyBollyBooBoo · 27/11/2010 00:36

Issa - how very trendy of you mama - apparently Waitey Katie's fave designer!

Totally love the colour, I wore a dress from Monsoon in a similar colour to a friends Indian wedding and wore it with muted red pashmina, red high heeled peep toes and big red dangling earrings, even DH made positive comments - I usually wear monotone everything!

mamatomany · 27/11/2010 00:42

I'd be lying if I said I didn't know that Blush
None of my family would have a clue though they'll probably think it's George at Asda.

moragbellingham · 27/11/2010 08:52

I've just managed to find the last red one and it's in my size!
With all the deductions it's a bargainShock but......can you really cook an Xmas dinner in silkHmm?

moragbellingham · 27/11/2010 08:53

Sorry OP to completely ignore the thread title, i'm not keen.

mamatomany · 27/11/2010 11:04

I looked at the red and wondered if I could squeeze into it but yes it is almost a normal priced outfit at that price, plus I think it might be able to be ebay'd at a later date.
As for cooking and indeed eating, I wouldn't, I ruined a £100 Coast dress one year so there's no way I'll even be holding my son in it never mind a gravy covered sprout !

Figgyrolls · 27/11/2010 11:07

mama it is super lovely! I am tempted myself! (Do you think it will hide my 12 week mummybelly?)

mamatomany · 27/11/2010 11:11

A preggy belly is to be proud of and yes i think it would skim nicely over it.
Now a big old roll of chocolate nobs belly is a different matter.
Actually I'm more worried about the BF boobs but I will be stopping this week so hopefully normal service will resumed by Christmas.
