You know how Nigella buys the same dress in different colours?

Well, would you do the same?

I've got a xmas party to go to on the 18th but have turned out the same Coast dress that I bought last year several times.

But the shape really suits me and holds in my tummy

So would you buy this if you had one similar already in a fuschia colour?

DH said go for it but what does he know

Actually, I do sometimes buy the same thing in more than one colour if the style suits me.

I have 2 jersey day dresses from FC - one floral and one with a tear drop pattern. The style suits me and I wear them with different cardigans, shoes and accessories.

Colourful · 25/11/2010 18:26

Yes. I would have black one for those LBD occasions and a fushia one. And probably another one, just for the hell of it!

KristinaM · 25/11/2010 18:30

its lovely in the teal

MaudOHara · 25/11/2010 18:33

Grin thats just the answer I was after - a few more people telling me to do it and I can hit the button to buy Grin

But would you really wear the same design just different colour to go out with all the same people? [insecure]

Lovely dress its very hard to find ones that fit well- also like the teal

thisisyesterday · 25/11/2010 18:37

definitely! i remember reading a while ago something about how most women have tons of clothes they never wear
and one of the top tips in it was, when you find something that really suits you and you wear a lot... buy more of it! in diff colour if available

so yes, i would!

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 25/11/2010 18:41

Oh, yes do get it. I wouldn't with anything that's obviously going to date quickly but that's classic enough to take it. I'd be sorely tempted to get the teal too TBH.

Different accessories and shoes totally change a look so I really wouldn't worry about wearing them with the same people at all.

Yes, do it.

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 25/11/2010 18:47

yy vinvinoveritas makes a good point. The black will still be wearable even when the fuchsia eventually dates.

MaudOHara · 25/11/2010 22:18

Ok have bought the black and the teal - will tell DH I will send one back...

i always do this. why have one thing you like more and one thing you like less? just buy two of the one you like more.

KristinaM · 26/11/2010 10:39

oh aitch, you are such an enabler Grin

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2010 10:48
Grin in fact, i would go so far as to say that i take 'buy cheap, buy twice' quite literally at sale time.
thenightsky · 26/11/2010 10:52

God that dress is bloody lovely! I want it, but have nowhere to wear it.

Noone will notice that it's the same style dress! It's a different colour and with different accessories it will look completely different!
If it looks good, it looks good and no one will notice anything but that!

AitchTwoOh · 26/11/2010 11:04

that mcqueen is lush. yes to the wedding thing, but with mahoosive creamy accessories to wedding it up a bit.

brimfull · 26/11/2010 11:11

def yes
I do this all the time with clothes
