Help needed finding a bee necklace

Odelay · 03/11/2010 21:14

I'd like one for Christmas. We hope to get a hive next year but until we do I'd like to ask dh to get me one for my present. My every day jewelry is silver so think I need to stick with silver and I picture something chunky rather than very delicate. Oh and not costing more than £100 unless amazing
Thanks

Odelay · 03/11/2010 21:44

Cruella don't like the plastic beehive but the circus performer on the same site is so cool. Where's my card ?

Stil lovi g the Alex Monroe bees. Is he well known for doing things like that? I've not heard of him but am not very informed about stuff like ghis

Might the wings not poke in you? Or poke a small child's eye out?

Lovely though they are....(I'm a beekeeper btw)

There is a nice brooch on the BBKA website?

Odelay · 03/11/2010 21:51

Well you have a point boo. I had to stop wearing a nice bangle because I stabbed ds with it. Hmmm but I do like it so. Ds is 18 mths and doesn't let me hug him much anymore. And hiw exciting having your own bees. We're still learning and researching but have wanted some for 10 years or more

That brooch is lovely and definitely less stabby

I've just done my first beekeeping exam - there is a lot more to it than you think! I am sorry to say that I haven't had a lot of luck in the 2 years I've had them though i.e. they keep dying and I've not had any honey! Grin I'll get there next year!

I do love 'bee' stuff. I am sure Monsoon did a flat bee at some point - remember oohing and aahing over it!

Whoamireally · 03/11/2010 21:59

Sorry, have ditched the Halloween name Grin

Havingkittens · 03/11/2010 21:59

bit chunkier

Whoamireally · 03/11/2010 22:01

That's lovely - not so pokey

lal123 · 03/11/2010 22:07

I don't like swarovski stuff myself - but

or very cheap!

PainSnail · 04/11/2010 10:10

This one is a bargain and can be made in silver. Maybe more delicate than what you're looking for though?

Odelay · 04/11/2010 12:50

gosh thanks everyone, i'll have a look at all these wonderful suggestions and weigh up stabby vs chunky

moragbellingham · 04/11/2010 13:26

Red Direct have a cheaper Alex Monroe bee.

Lazylion · 04/11/2010 13:29

I got an Alex Munroe necklace for my birthday, it is very small and I'm not very impressed with the quality. Very expensive for what they are.

moragbellingham · 04/11/2010 13:34

sam cam i think her bee is old but from also erdem.

moragbellingham · 04/11/2010 13:36

No, I'm wrong DMShock

Odelay · 04/11/2010 13:52

oh Morag you've put me right off Grin

Laztlion, was yours a bee? i'm intersted in what you're saying because i really like teh Alex Monrow ones, they have the size on the website, but by poor quality, are they thin and bendy?

Odelay · 04/11/2010 13:53
