Trick or treat! [hsmile]

Corolle dolls are really lovely NY.

carciofi · 04/11/2010 20:13

NY, I think those shoes would go well.

Bloss, hope your dh makes it home safely.

Fritzi, I would definitely be having words with the teacher.

Roary, you sound so pretty!

traceybath · 04/11/2010 20:15

Bloss - yes - hope your DH drives nice and slowly. I hate driving in the wind.

Roary - sounds a fairly succesful day and at least makes you look at colours more - I know I've done just because of this thread Grin

Am waiting for Bloss to start doing it professionally Wink

PlumSykes · 04/11/2010 20:22

yummy, Nanou is a lovely doll. Have a code for 25% off, which will fish out if your are interested.

blossoming · 04/11/2010 20:31

roary, you complicated thing you! I was a really obvious winter too. I felt a bit cheated as the other lady had loads more time spent on her (I'm so vain..!) but then she took lots of time over the grading. Two stars at 75% is better than two stars at 50%. Fwiw I have 10 'wow' colours.

notyummy, I can totally see you in that asos maxi. Model's your size too, no?
I think the multi coloured dress would be good with jeggings and those boots.

blossoming · 04/11/2010 20:35

My mum wants to buy dd a doll for Christmas. Now thanks to traceyb, I want this one!

traceybath · 04/11/2010 20:38

Bloss - Bea has that one - it is utterly adorable and goes to bed with her every night!

It was Bonsoir who first recommended them (or at least I saw her recommend them) and they really are lovely.

blossoming · 04/11/2010 20:41

Did you get yours online traceyb?

traceybath · 04/11/2010 20:44

Yeap from amazon

FritziGreenEyes · 04/11/2010 20:51

Thanks for your kind words ladies! Didn't want to make it sound as if I approve of DD pushing other kids of course. But she is very rarely upset like that and it kind of upset me too. As roary said, support from my imaginary friends does help more than anything else really.

Have had a beer now and will do some Christmas shopping from M&S website. For MIL I'll get some cashmere wristwarmers and a handbag and for my mother a cashmere cardi and maybe a nice scarf. They both don't spend much on themselves and I hope to get them something they really love. Speaking of which: DH will get a microwave as we don't have one and he often comes home late and is too tired to warm up food and eats it then cold Shock.

bloss Hope DH gets home safely. Weather sounds awful.

roary Good to hear you had a nice time with your friend at the colour thing. Can't help you with the rating of colours as the system they used on me was different I think. I'm just a summer...

FritziGreenEyes · 04/11/2010 20:54

notyummy Would rather wear a shoeboot or ballet flat with the dress. Not sure if brogues would work.

hf128219 · 04/11/2010 20:54

DD has this one You can buy clothes for newborns from Sainsburys et al for dressing up purposes.

Will be back later. Smile

mrsjuan · 04/11/2010 20:57

That doll is lovely Bloss - I really need to get one with sleeping eyes for P - she has a cheapy one from Tesco's which she is rather attached to (and has named Debbie Confused) but it's eyes are permanently open and she spends ages walking round patting it or pushing it in her toy pushchair trying to get her to sleep. It's very cute but a bit frustrating for her Grin. I'm resisting saying it serves her right for being such a dreadful sleeper herself.

Janice is still languishing at the depot - not had a minute today as my sister has come to visit - hooray! She has found out that she is having a girl so P will have a little girl cousin to play with soon Smile

NY -I can see you in that maxi - worth a try??

Fritzi - poor DD - must have been hard to have her so upset. Hope you get some answers from the kindergarten.

Hope DH is ok Bloss - horribly windy here too.

eshermummy · 04/11/2010 20:58

Had lovely afternoon in and around Kings Rd - although didn't get very far and wasn't very avid but realy enjoyed the lack of kids change of scene.

Not particularly avid - bought this blouse which I tried on and is nice and this jersey dress in the grey which have not tried (tried the black version which I liked but changed mind on way to check-out ) and am now slightly worried as don't think it looks very nice on the model. Will go upstairs and try in a bit.

Also bought 3 pairs of tights which I think will make existing wardrobe items work together much better- dark charcoal wool rib, dark purple rib and a pair of lace tights in the most amazingly vivid shade of turquoisey/green that is called "peacock" and which I plan to team with black jersey dress.

There was a lovely classic full length belted camel coat in Zara - in a sort of cashmere/ alpaca mix - (ok, so I doubt it was and I didn't check the label but it was very nice). Could pass for Maxmara imo - and I've got 3 of the real thing so consider myself well place to judge.
IIRC it was around £239/249. I would have bought it but no S. Have come home and looked online and they only seem to have this one online and I am really confused as to whether it is indeed the same coat just wrongly priced or a different one. I can't remember whether the one I saw today had a shawl rather than notched collar - has anyone else seen the coats I'm talking about and have an opinion?

Such a shame that neither Bunny or Carciofi were around today. I'll try and give more notice next time I am up.

Who was it that was asking about jersey day dresses?
(Sorry I can't remember, was it Fritzi?)

Ever since I sent back the Bertha (which was v nice just too long on short-arse me) I have been hankering after the ideal inky blue/purple jersey dress.
Can we have marks out of ten for these please:

one

two

three

four

Tracey - the home page of Zara is model in pillar box round neck jumper/cardi with camel skirt and looks lovely.

NY - I think MM bought that ASOS maxi but said it wasn't very nice irl.

Oh yes, and I also bought these gloves and this evening clutch in "pewter" which is actually more old-gold as despite having nowhere to use it, it was just too pretty to resist Blush

Sorry for monster post, will go back and read today's posts now!

FritziGreenEyes · 04/11/2010 21:05

The Corolle baby dolls are really sweet. I have to say that I'm not keen on the older looking dolls. Their face looks a bit sad. Much prefer the Nanou one carciofi linked to.

blossoming · 04/11/2010 21:07

Thanks for your concern re dh. It's still pouring down.

fritzi, beer is good. You remind me that I bought dh a deep fat fryer for me him to have proper chips when I was pregnant last year. My favourite gadget! Your other gifts sound lovely. Dh has said he's doing charity donations again this year - it had got out of hand with his family. So we'll just do our parents and nephews/nieces. The conversation at swimming on Monday was how everyone had finished and were starting their packing! In one rural school the children give gifts to every child in their class!!!

roary · 04/11/2010 21:09

Ooooh, how exciting, I have been waiting for AGES to be able to show photos to a select few friends on Mumsnet rather than everyone, now I can show you outfitsits etc and get more RL advice, and you can know what I look like! Hurray! I have added a pic of me and DD (a bit old but the only one of myself on my laptop!)and made lots of you I can think of mumsnet mates. Also wanted Bloss to see what I mean about colours and get her advice.

Bloss agree with Tracey that you should set yourself up as HoC analyst. Our lady was good but had terrifyingly bad clothes in flattering colours :)

roary · 04/11/2010 21:10

Love the nanou doll. DD was given a baby she totally ignores and instead spends all her time changing the nappy of her dog and her frog, and putting them to bed etc.

Esher, I like the Pure one, was eyeing today with swatches in hand.

traceybath · 04/11/2010 21:11

Really Fritzi - I think this one is so pretty.

blossoming · 04/11/2010 21:13

esher, having met you can I express an opinion that White company colours are rather drab for your bright and sparkly self?

traceybath · 04/11/2010 21:15

Yes Esher - they're not bodycon enough either. Get thee to Temperley and buy that lovely jersey one on NAP.

Very envious of your day of child-free shopping.

However we're doing second viewing of a house on saturday so I shouldn't be spending too much really.

traceybath · 04/11/2010 21:17

Fritzi - just re-read my post and I sound like my old headmistress 'Reeealllly Fritzi' - sorry Blush

FritziGreenEyes · 04/11/2010 21:19

esher It was me looking for jersey dresses although I realized while clicking on your links that I have no 3 from WC. It is nice and fits me well but I would like something that is not empire or A-line. Love the clutch and gloves! Very glam!

VerityBrulee · 04/11/2010 21:19

I have bought dd a corolle doll every year for christmas, starting with this, then this, this one can go in the bath, we call her Emily, can't find the next one, but she's like emily but in a ballet outfit. This year we will be joined by Chloe but in a much nicer outfit! I'm going to make her a few liberty print dresses to match dd's. Corolle dolls are so pretty and smell of vanilla, highly recommended Smile

Aaagrh, am mesmerised by dolls now and can't remember what else I was going to say!

traceybath · 04/11/2010 21:22

Verity - its the vanilla smell that gets me Smile

Also I was looking at them the other day on the computer and Bea just started clapping her hands and smiling at them.
