Do you wear clean clothes every day?

The 'What are you wearing' thread has got me thinking. Do people put on a completely fresh outfit every day (not talking underwear btw, that's different! - but outer layers) ... do you wear once and launder ... do you wear once, hang up again and launder when the clothes need it .... or do you wear the same thing for however many days til a wash is needed?

Just wondering ... Grin

I wear until the clothes need washing, depending on the item up to three wears, four at a push maybe.

Stinkermink · 08/10/2010 14:32

Change clothes everyday, might wear trousers or skirts again i.e. hang up and wear a few days later. But anything next to armpits goes in the wash! I have been told that those woolly bear bug things go for clothes in your cupboard that don't get washed often like coats!

Meglet · 08/10/2010 14:33

yes. So do the dc's as they get them covered in food / paint / muck, which then gets on my clothes. Work clothes changed everyday and gym clothes obviously changed too.

PJ's are changed every other day.

I always have piles of washing.

ShatnersBassoon · 08/10/2010 14:33

Clean top every day, but not so fussy about trousers or skirt; they don't get as stale from sweat, perfume and deodorant as tops do.

brimfull · 08/10/2010 14:33

I might wear a top for a few days , jeans for a few more providing no stains etc.
I don't sweat much.

sparkle1977 · 08/10/2010 14:34

I tend to wear trousers/skirts for 2 to 3 days but change tops every day.

Millie1 · 08/10/2010 14:41

Phew ... when I read the What you're wearing threads, I'm always always think that I must be the only person who would wear a top for 2-3 days and jeans til they need washed. Hats off to those who do full change every day - I wouldn't have enough clothes for that!Wink

OTH, the children do get clean clothes every day - well, school uniforms x 2 per week, DTs clean everything at least once a day and DS's when their clothes need changed. My iron broke last week ... I'd to wait 5 days on a new one, it nearly killed me but now I've got a wonderful steam generator iron Grin

always wash clothes after one wear - even if only worn for a few hours

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 08/10/2010 14:45

I wash my tops after each wear.

Knitwear, including tunicy things I wear a little top underneath, trousers and skirts all keep going until they need washing.

PlanetEarth · 08/10/2010 14:54

Tops two days unless they get sweaty, jeans/skirts 3-4 unless they get creased or dirty.

Romilly70 · 08/10/2010 14:57

tops if i have been wearing all day; gets put in the wash at the end of the day. if i only wear for a few hours, gets aired and worn again. Bottoms, eg jeans can go for a few days unless I spill something on them.

Fluffypoms · 08/10/2010 14:58

clean everyday.
Hate the feeling of getting out of the shower and putting on unwashed clothes.

MrsC2010 · 08/10/2010 15:04

Jeans etc no.
Outerwear, jumpers etc...a couple of wears unless tight.
Tops, tights etc...wash after each wear.

Lauriefairycake · 08/10/2010 15:06

I wear camisoles under everything to extend the wear of clothes. Clean pyjamas every day though.

I still have 5 to 8 loads a week.

mousymouse · 08/10/2010 15:07

clean - yes
freshly washed - not every day
trousers 3 days or so tops two days with an "airing day" in between.

PaulineCampbellJones · 08/10/2010 15:08

Clean everyday apart from jeans and work skirts/ some suits. Anything armpitty has to be washed!

VivaLeBeaver · 08/10/2010 15:08

I wear jeans for a week, sometimes more if they're not mucky. I wear a top for two days unless I've got a bit warm dog walking, etc and then its sniffed the next day and either in the laundry bin or back on depending if it passes my sniff test. I wEAR pjS for a week, is that bad?

higgle · 08/10/2010 15:26

Tops, 2 - 3 days - but not one day after the other, jeans 3 - 4 days, work clothes rotated and washed after 3 - 4 wearings. Dry clean only stuff has to last a very long time indeed!

domesticsluttery · 08/10/2010 15:31

I wear trousers and jumpers/cardis for 2-3 days as long as they are still clean, but wear t-shirts/camis underneath and change them every day.

The DC have a clean set of clothes every day. I can't wait until they get more than one wear out of clothes!

purplepeony · 08/10/2010 15:55

I tend to change my outfit over the day sometimes 3 tiesm so nothing gets a full day's wear!

I have my work outfit that is worn for half day tops, my exercise outfit that consists of old T and trouers, and my lounging around the house outfit.

I will tend to wear a T or top for 2-3 days depending on whether i was sweaty or not, or just once if it was a hot nad sweaty day,and trousers for ages as long as they don't smell. i always tend to wash clothes more often if I have been travelling on public transport- even jeans.

sh77 · 08/10/2010 17:41

Viva and I are sisters in the not changing clothes department. I used to pjs for a week but now change everuy 4 days...

VivaLeBeaver · 08/10/2010 17:42
BooBooGlass · 08/10/2010 17:43

Nope. But I don't sweat, I glow Wink

deaddei · 08/10/2010 17:59

I wash everything of mine every day, including pj's.
But then I have anal tendencies.

sheeplikessleep · 08/10/2010 18:01

Tops I change every day.
Jeans I wear for 3-4 days.
Jumpers I wear for 3-4 days.

But then to be honest, DS2 seems to like to slobber / sick / throw food at me at the moment! So clothes tend to get dirty quicker anyway!
