What are you wearing today, with a twist

AbsofCroissant · 08/10/2010 09:19

Usual - what are you wearing today, but also why?

Today I am wearing:

  • black pencil skirt (it's new, ironed and at the front of the cupboard)
  • dark green bow blouse (I keep on seeing one similar to it in a shop on my way to work, so thought I might as well wear mine. And it's clean and ironed)
  • sheer black tights (they were the nearest)
  • navy crew neck jumper (as the jumper I normally wear the green shirt with has a mysterious giant hole on the shoulder)
  • black mary jane heels (only heels at work at moment)
  • silver watch (anniversary present from DP. I wear it all the time as it reminds me of him)

Long grey ribbed t-shirt dress from Esprit (from abot 18 years ago Hmm), a black waterfall cardy and my lovely lovely DM boots! We don't get a dress-down Friday anymore so I do it unofficially.

monkey9237 · 08/10/2010 15:28

Black foldover-top yoga loungey trousers, black stretch cami frpm m&s under a black cowl neck jersey top with mini blue sequins on. Why? Day off work today with DS so wanted to be comfy and functional. And they were the first things i could see when i opened the wardrobe. I look awful!

Grey wideleg trousers
grey waistcoat
white blousey type top
black ankle boots

Why? because they were clean and I was in work today and I have to be smart no matter what

mittz · 08/10/2010 16:40

An ankle skimming maxi dress. Just because I can.

Little purple pumps, because they are so comfrotable.
It's not cold enough for a cardi here today.

That's amazing Vintage... you must be so proud of yourself Smile

Polgara2 · 08/10/2010 16:56

Earlier:
Black M&S leggings - coz they are elasticated waist and I have a newlyish acquired muffin top Sad
Pinkish floral tunic top - New Look - coz it hides above muffin
Black long cardi - Primark
Black Ugg Boots - coz I have broken my toe (I think) and they are the only things I can wear - also Sad.

Now:
really old grey jersey trousers and even older disney t-shirt - because I am about to cook tea which includes sausages and these clothes are about to go in the wash (so it doesn't matter that they will smell of sausages Grin) oh and they are comfyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

higgle · 08/10/2010 16:57

Ecco boots, M&S grey tights, Kaliko tweed check pencil skirt, Vintage grey cashmere jumper - because I want to look suitably efficent and yet approachable for work.

Grey sleeveless jersey tunic/dress with cowl neck and drapey front - the drapey front does a good job at disguising saggy belly

dark grey footless tights - the stretch in these is more reliable than leggings and also holds in said saggy belly (see the general theme)

and red Birkenstocks - because they are the comfiest shoes ever!

SummerRain · 08/10/2010 19:05

Was wearing Road jeans (because they were cleaner than jeans i like better and warmer and more comfortable than cleaner jeans), a grey tank top (because it was clean and close to the front of the drawer) and a turquoise long sleeved top (because it was too warm for a hoody this morning and this was the only clean l-s top i had). I was wearing a grey next wool coat, mid length and converse runners when i went out (because they're the only coat and runners i own)

I changed into manky grey track pants when i got home (because they're comfy and changing out of my 'outside' clothes in the house means they last a bit longer before having to be added to laundry mountain)

LouMacca · 08/10/2010 19:14

Long thin blue jumper from Mango
Cream fitted jacket from H&M
Chunky blue necklace from Monsoon
Cream snood from Top Shop
Light blue skinny jeans from H&M
Chunky cream wedges from Top Shop

Why? Going to my friends house party for her 40th so don't want to over dress but want to pull off the smart/casual look!

AvadaKedavra · 08/10/2010 19:16

Black bootcut jeans
black gypsyish style top (has bra hooks all down the front)
Purple ballet pumps

Why?
Going out with my fella for a few drinks and black jeans didn't need ironing, purple pumps are comfy and the top cause the hooks make him think naughty things Grin

MissBeehiving · 08/10/2010 19:19

Still dressed from work;

Grey silk Mint Velvet skirt
Charcoal opagues
White T shirt from Mint Velvet
Grey Boyfriend jacket from Pied a Terre
Grey shoeboots from M & S
Silver chain and cuff

Wordsonascreen · 08/10/2010 19:28

cream cotton 3/4 length sleeve t shirt
dark grey cropped trousers
silver gizeh birkies

Why ?
Because it was 39 degrees today and although its nearly bedtime the temp is still hitting 31.

Doodleydoo · 08/10/2010 19:29

Urgh

Revolting Jeans that I wore during 1st pregnancy, lent to a friend, wore during 2nd pregancy - my mum says they are just massively saggy on the arse and not flattering.

Why - the doorbell rang at ridiculous o'clock and I threw on the nearest thing (still postnatally fat!) somehow I forgot Hmm to change and still have them on,

ditto feeding top and maternity top from h and m in black

geox pink and stainless steel studded pumps (sooo comfy!)

I look like shit and the only decent part are my lurvely ray ban similar but mine are more yellow and brown

Hopefully · 08/10/2010 19:47
  • Borrowed maternity jeans (they were the first clean, ironed garment I laid hands on this morning)
  • Horrible stretched grey t-shirt from last pregnancy (only clean top I could fit into)
  • pink vest to wear under t-shirt, as its deep v is for some reason stretched to indecently deep (only clean vest top in the house)
  • Birkenstocks (only shoes I have, apart from walking boots, that are not completely fallen apart)
  • My beautiful, stylish, unique engagement ring (umm, I'm engaged, and I had to wear something that was at least vaguely stylish)

God, that's tragic. I did finally go and spend £50 in H&M today on some new maternity wear, and I'm going to buy new boots asap too. I used to be stylish!

Meggles76 · 08/10/2010 20:40

Brown hoodie (new from Next)
Black tracksuit bottoms (old from M&S)
White Nike T-shirt
Nike Trainers

Needless to say that I have just joined a new gym (hoping to lose a stone) and had my induction today
