What are you wearing today, with a twist

AbsofCroissant · 08/10/2010 09:19

Usual - what are you wearing today, but also why?

Today I am wearing:

  • black pencil skirt (it's new, ironed and at the front of the cupboard)
  • dark green bow blouse (I keep on seeing one similar to it in a shop on my way to work, so thought I might as well wear mine. And it's clean and ironed)
  • sheer black tights (they were the nearest)
  • navy crew neck jumper (as the jumper I normally wear the green shirt with has a mysterious giant hole on the shoulder)
  • black mary jane heels (only heels at work at moment)
  • silver watch (anniversary present from DP. I wear it all the time as it reminds me of him)

SweetnessAndShite · 08/10/2010 11:39

Fave age old skinny jeans with holes in both knees (product of lots of floor play with DCs Grin )
Long sleeved brown top
La Redoute cap sleeve brown tank top with fairisle pattern
Fatface boots

Wearing because this is what I wore yesterday and I haven't had a shower yet!!

(wore yesterday because most of outfit arrived from ebay and wanted to wear straight away!)

SweetnessAndShite · 08/10/2010 11:40

Oops - forgot to mention brown cord flat cap.

I love to wear hats so I don't have to bother doing much with my hair!

SixtyFootDoll · 08/10/2010 11:42

Blue deninm Jeggings
grey vest with grey and red check shirt
Black pumps
All courtesy of George at Asda

Why?
First thing out of the wardrobe.

BuckBuckMcFate · 08/10/2010 11:48

Black maternity jeans
Navy polo shirt (straining round the middle!)
Black steel toe cap boots

Why?
I've just got back from my last day of work before maternity leave and can't be bothered bending down to try and get these boots off unaided

sfxmum · 08/10/2010 11:52

straight blue jeans (Uniqlo)
brown biker boots (Clarks)
blue t-shirt (white stuff)
long brownish knitted cardie (Esprit)

none needed ironing

ayjayjay · 08/10/2010 12:14

skinny light grey jeans - tescos(am taking DD to baby sensory so need something suitable for crawling around floor :))
black vest top, slouchy dark grey 3/4 sleeve top - H&M (for easy breast feeding)
black and grey leopard print ballet pumps - asda (flat for driving and easy to kick off at baby sensory)

shimmerysilverglitter · 08/10/2010 12:21

A Blue Fat Face Hoody
Next Boyfriend Cut Jeans with holes in the knees
Black and White converse

I put on a check Uniqlo shirt this morning but felt shivery and uncomfortable in it so changed it for my soft comfortable hoody. I have a sore throat and a cold so am comfort dressing today.

Flighttattendant · 08/10/2010 12:22

dark grey miss selfridge tight jeans (bought pre-ds2, rather faded!) because they were on the floor

black toggi horse boots because I wear them every day and they're waterproof/comfortable/lovely Smile

Dark red l/s t shirt

long scruffy brown cardigan, because my arse was looking large today in the aforementioned jeans.

That's it.

nickschick · 08/10/2010 12:29

short slleved long blue knit jumper/dress
black leggings
biker boots
silver necklace.

Practical but passable cos im going to a jumble sale later and will have no time to change ......

OllieWollieWoo · 08/10/2010 12:41

Grey converse - comfy
Boyfriend jeans - ditto
White cotton vest top (am in denial its autumn)
This cardi here is mushroom here which I brought last week and now see its reduced - gah!
cotton scarf with grey/dusky pink butterflies on.
Why - cos I wore it yesterday and was on the chair in the bedroom at 7.18am when I was stumbling around getting dressed!

CherryChapstick · 08/10/2010 12:44

Skanky jeans -Asda
Skankier black t shirt- Primark
The very skankiest fleece top -Sainsbos.
Have been to work, done paper round with DD and have much housework to do later.

aquavit · 08/10/2010 12:49

Black opaque tights (proper ones with cashmere, because they are snuggly)
Black denim mini (because I want to show off my legs today)
Black l/s top (because it goes well under the jumper)
Charcoal mohair cowl-neck from Brora (because it is both gorgeous and snuggly)
Big silver and pink quartz ring

Entire outfit is designed to be OK for work (though who am I kidding, anything goes here), comfortable enough for drive down to London this evening, and gorgeous enough to look as though I have made an effort for our lovely friends who have invited us for a glamorous dinner.

I am also wearing what I have just realised to be camel suede pixie boots - almost identical to the ones I had the first time round, in 1983, but with a touch more cowboy boot about them. That's wrong, isn't it.

GwennieF · 08/10/2010 13:00

Dark blue loose fit jeans (La Redoute)
Blue and white striped long shirt (H&M)
Navy boyfriend cardi (Gap)
Brown chunky boots (Office)

Not much I fit into at the moment and everything I wear is with easy access for DD in mind.

notrightnow · 08/10/2010 13:01

aquavit, my purple ankle boots are also just like some I had in 1984. Makes me feel old on a bad day, or young and exciting still on a good day.

Wearing them with skinny dark indigo jeans (Jil Sander for Uniqlo - the only way I'll ever afford Jil Sander)
navy scoop neck T shirt from Gap
silky grey and navy tunic thing from Zara - sounds vile but actually nice
big amethyst rings made by my friend who is a jeweller

I am working at home with my daughter who's off school ill, but will dash into work later so this is a halfway house kind of dressing day ... also need flat shoes as have to lug son's double bass about later ...

aStarInStrangeways · 08/10/2010 13:02

pink floral Emily & Finn (very) mini dress - because I love it and it cheers me up on a grey day

charcoal H&M leggings - because the dress is so very mini!

grey crop M&S cardigan - because the dress is sleeveless and it's October

black calf length ribbon laced Docs - because they are fucking awesome (and comfy, and warm)

Maryqueenofchocs · 08/10/2010 13:19

Dark denim skinny jeans as they were clean with long socks over the top

Black knitted tunic with bell sleeves - as it covers my bum and leapt out the wardrobe at 7am

Fake Fur Snood from asos - as I'm IN LOVE WITH IT, and don't care dh calls it 'The Cat'.

Purple suede flat boots - as they are comfy, yet different...

Am sat 'working' at laptop, so shouldn't be on mumsnet at all....byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeGrin

vintage4 · 08/10/2010 13:56

BooBooGlass · 08/10/2010 14:10

My new White Stuff dress because I feel fabulous in it, and am makign a concerted effort to wear only my most fabulous clothes rather than the skinny jeans and boots that have become my uniform.
Topped off with some cheapy broth Primark tights and my old tall brown <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.timberlandboot.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Timberland-Womens-Lexiss-Full-Shaft-Boot.jpg&imgrefurl=www.timberlandboot.org/timberland-womens-lexiss-full-shaft-boot/&usg=__WNIrZo2X9qg2a-HvUddwRyfCwEM=&h=300&w=300&sz=7&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=JBvBt_dtkIyDTM:&tbnh=134&tbnw=134&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dtimberland%2Blexiss%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4PBEA_en-GBGB262GB264%26biw%3D1259%26bih%3D567%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=884&vpy=212&dur=2053&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=127&ty=162&ei=KRivTJT7IomDswaG_PSSDQ&oei=KRivTJT7IomDswaG_PSSDQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:12,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Timberland boots that I thought had had it but have been rescued.
