Anyone had experiences of ordering from them? Is the quality good?

Another vote for lovely clothes but shite customer service and delivery.

It's been really irritating me recently actually. I've placed quite a few orders and have had various problems. Mostly stuff just taking ages to arrive but also ordering things that say they're in stock online but then just getting told in the small print on the invoice with the other items that it's out of stock. Oh, and it takes a long time of waiting on hold to speak to anyone on the phone. And they ignore my emails. Oh and I've had problems applying promotional codes.

Angry

So part of me thinks I should never order from them again but then I keep on finding myself flicking through the catalogue and finding yet more lovely things for DD and seeing special offer codes and then I'm sucked back in.

Pleased to know it's not just me anyway :)

BeehiveBaby · 29/09/2010 21:04

So cross that I ordered from them now. Have been waiting on the items since the 19th and deliberately chose instock items. I will have to buy the things I need before they get here, so it will all be sent back, very frustrating.

moragbellingham · 30/09/2010 16:28

I ordered on the 13th but at least they emailed to say there would be a 2 week delay.

Meanwhile, I've been sent some vouchers so I too will get sucked in again.

Blatherskite · 01/10/2010 10:29

Well, they've taken my money. Just waiting for my clothes now!

Rosa · 01/10/2010 10:39

Delivery slow slow slow. Plus the items being instock when you order so you expect them to come out straight away. I found the sizing also small always order a size up. Winter pjmas bit expensive but they have lasted !!! I have never had 1 order sent out as a whole always in bits.

3plusbump · 01/10/2010 10:51

I placed a big order (about 10 items) in their last sale. It was all showing 'in stock' but it took a month for me to finally received it all in 7 seperate packages Confused

Quality seems reasonable but sizes are small so whilst they were cheap, DS won't fit in them for very long at all....

I've ordered kids clothes from the H&M website in the last couple of weeks. Delivery was superquick, clothes good quality and gernerously sized and some great sale bargains too - will be sticking to them from now on!

potplant · 01/10/2010 10:58

Clothes nice but delivery is so slow. Its at least 2 weeks before anything arrives.

I didn't know H&M did kids clothes online, so glad I looked in here.

RamblingRosa · 01/10/2010 11:14

I've been ordering a lot from Vertbaudet recently and have been amazed at how crap delivery and customer service is. I'm actually wondering if AIBU to send this whole discussion to them to show what a bad reputation they have re. delivery. It might make them up their game a bit!

rathersplendid · 01/10/2010 11:25

Just to warn you, I've found H&M online to be a pain too.

I'm still waiting for half my stuff - apparently I'll receive it mid-October (a month after I ordered it).

Also I had some stuff I wanted to return and I couldn't get a refund in the store :( I was told to post it with the free returns label, but the post office wouldn't accept the returns label.

So ended up having to request a pick up from a courier, and I had to stay in all day as they couldn't specify a time.

So all in all it was a complete hassle and it would have been easier to just go to the shop in the 1st place (despite the fact that I hate going shopping).

i received package for DC2 yesterday so thats 10 days after placing an order. pretty quick judging by some of the postings here!

quality ok, dresses bigger than i thought so very relieved i don't have to exchange and they threw in a ton of catalogues so spent most of last night broswing for the kids for next year!!! just when i told Customer Service that it wold be a cold day in hell before i placed an order with them again (well not really, but you get my drift?!).

I buy lots from Vertbaudet and find the quality, style and price excellent. We had some ankle strap party shoes during the summer in goldish leather that was butter-soft. They looked and wore like high end designer shoes. I have always found the delivery fine, but they don't deliver their own stuff - it goes through a courier service so I suppose the service is only as good as your local courier. The dresses can come up a bit big, whilst the trousers are definitely for tall, skinny kids (unfortunately DD2 is neither tall nor skinny, so we have had some trouser disasters from there). They do some v good promotions (discounts) throughout the season and I have never had any problems with availability of items.

RamblingRosa · 01/10/2010 14:07

Hmm, good point grumpyoldhorsewoman. Maybe it's the courier that's the problem rather than the company.

I find the dresses to be small rather than big.

I've ordered some jeans for DD which I'm really looking forward to arriving (I've been told it may take a few months HmmShock) as she's v tall and skinny so I find it really hard finding things to fit her. I'm hoping Vertbaudet will fit the bill.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 01/10/2010 14:08

While we're on the subject....do you know Zara have now gone online too? Some totally gorgeous stuff this season. DD2 has this for school this year and it is fabulous. Looks better than the picture.

potplant · 01/10/2010 14:39

Zara too! All my Christmasses have come at once!

Knackerelli · 01/10/2010 21:39

I love their designs and Childrens clothes! Have always ordered by post before but ordered winter clothes online for dc on the 5th sept.....still haven't seen them! Phoned up,was told they have been having ordering problems (?) and would be with me in 5-7 days....... Am keeping my fingers crossed.

HumongousFungus · 01/10/2010 21:47

hit and miss with delivery. I've had stuff arrive 6 months after I've ordered it. Ordered some jeans last week and they arrived 4 days later.

Quality is fine IMO. Sizing can be a bit odd though.

Blatherskite · 01/10/2010 22:39

6 months!! Surely by that time the chikdren have grown out of anything you've ordered!!!

Blatherskite · 02/10/2010 10:53

Clothes have arrived!!

That's not bad - 10 days from order to delivery and they seem really good quality. Even the freebie shape sorter toy is nice.

moragbellingham · 03/10/2010 07:48

I wanted to but a shelf but it won't arrive till mid-December according to the website!

I think I can find something else by then.

gorionine · 03/10/2010 07:54

I both ordered from them and got Vertbaudet things passed on to DCs. They keep really well.

It is pretty much the only place where you can actually find things for little girls that look for little girls and not "miniteens" without having glitter and princesses all over themGrin

moragbellingham · 05/10/2010 16:47

My DDs coat now won't be in till November - 2 months after first ordering it.
Am waiting for a dressing table now so hopefully it'll arrive before Xmas as it is a present!

clothes are good so far - lots of dd's hand me downs are vertbaudet and still looking great on the second or even third owener.

however...i had to get trading standards involved with a cot mobile i bought from them which broke in my hand whilst hanging right above dd's head. she gave me a refund and £50 compensation BUT it took 3 months and 7/8 angry phoncalls to get that and i was bloosy annoyed about it.

trading standards were v interested and came to the house to look at the mobile and take photos - apparently health and saftey hiccups are v contentious. the item was saftety recalled in the end but i wouldn't buy toys from there again :-(

Cherrybug · 06/10/2010 12:49

I ordered a present for in laws new baby. Ordered it a week before baby arrived, baby now over a week old and no sign of it despite showing in stock at the time of order.

Also had problem with discount code - they claimed it was a mini price item even though it does not say this anywhere on website so the code didnt apply. I asked to cancel the order in that case - they said I couldnt because it had already been dispatched - this was a blatent lie as over 2 weeks later I still havent received it.

I will never ever order from them again. It took me about 40 minutes to finallt get to speak to someone and they ignored the email I had sent. Their products are nice but the whole expereince of dealing with them as a company is just not worth it.
