oh yangymac that sounds stressful! Can't imagine what it must be like to work FT with DC at all Blush. How old are your DCs? Do you have anybody who could help out with looking after the DCs while you get some more work done or have a rest? Any chance you can cut down your workload? Please look after yourself!

Just ordered the grey skinnies and DHL just delivered huge package with shoes for whole family Smile. I ordered these for me but have to send them back as there is no zip and I can't even try them on Hmm. I'm keeping these ankle boots though. Can't wear them to take and pick up DD from kindergarten as the terrain is uneven and we have to climb up a steep path but will wear them on the occasional night out or for office meeting.

traceybath · 22/09/2010 10:59

Yangy - that sounds extremely stressful. I think if I were you though I'd up the cleaner's hours for the next month or so and how old are your children because I'd be definitely trying to get them into bed earlier to enable you to have a bit of an evening and do your work.

Also I'd cut out the cloth for the time being until things get onto more of an even keel.

Probably no help but much sympathy it sounds hard work indeed.

God - back in the old days when I worked I cried at work. Nasty client was vile on the phone and I sloped off to the loos in tears. Mind you it was such a stressful place to work that there was normally someone in tears.

I also worked in qite male environments but love working with women.

Was reading grazia yesterday and there was an article about a woman who considered herself to be very beautiful and deduced this was why she had no female friends. You see I'm always a bit Hmm about women who don't like other women.

Hells - asos kookai leather skirt in stock in your size.

notyummy · 22/09/2010 11:00

yangy - I work 4 days a week with a long commute and Dh away Sunday night to Friday night. I am afraid the only way I make it work is by leaving really early in the morning to beat the traffic i.e I don't usually see DD in the morning 4 days a week. 2/3 times a month I will work from home or leave later to go to a meeting that is not in the office. Then I see DD as well. I have a mothers help/nanny that starts very early (6 20am) to let me leave the house. She does cleaning until DD gets up, then gives her breakfast and takes her to school. DD goes to after school club and I pick her up at 5pm.

I would imagine trying to do what you would describe would break me - I find it only just manageable as it is - the slightest thing going wrong can cause major problems. Thankfully our mothers help is FANTASTIC - willing to go the extra mile and like family. DD also loving Kids Club, which is a relief!

Tracey - I read that article as well. I had a cats bum face all the way through it!! Frankly, whilst pretty she wasn't that stunning (meeee-ow!) and I think she probably has ishoos that most ladies can spot a mile off!

Yes I saw that thread. Might buy it to have a look.
I don't buy the I'm so beautiful women hate me line.

MarshaBrady · 22/09/2010 11:03

Mixed 'buys'! Anyway I don't think it's any more true than for other women.

Have you tried the one at Sunbury Cross Esher? It has always struck me as being pretty much an 'outlet' store. Tel no is 0871 223 1450, though as a central number it may not be much use.

(Sunbury Cross is off the roundabout where you join the M3 just after Kempton racecourse. There is an M&S food shop and parking is free for the first 30 mins or so.)

LTEC RESPECT for lambskin bargain!

happilyeverafter · 22/09/2010 11:11

I was giggling at that article too although felt sad that she is missing out on such a huge part if life not having friendships.

Marsha am not fleecy, am 5,9 size 12 on a good day, blond, have no particular look. I'm always being told I remind people of their daughter which seems pretty open! Many strangers tell me this.

Those louboutins are fab on outnet, I can but dream!

Yangy it sounds like you do an incredible job fitting in work with parenting, no advise other than it will get easier as dcs grow.

Practically same ages as mine yangy. Do you have a good nanny? Hang in there it's tough with some professions. My friend isn't stopping as she is se (law) and won't be able to get back into it. Get as much help as you need.
