Thinking of taking the plunge into skinny jeans...breaking the lifetime bootcut habit...advice?

It is time for me to grow up S&B-wise!
I have read lots about skinny jeans on here, I have always lived in bootcut jeans with boots through the winter. I am determined to look a little less slobby.

What shoes should I wear with skinny jeans - are boots 'too last year'?
What sort of top looks good? I have always worn rugby shirts...be gentle, I know, but I love them!
I have reasonable legs, slightly chunkier to the thighs, size 10, bit of 2 DC muffin top.

i have never been to uniqlo il have to try there, i also have a lovely pair of skinnies from dorothy perkins that fit really well,

OK, I know - the rugby shirts are going - but it will be like losing an old friend!!
Off to look at topshop jeans & tunics/layered t's....
