We've got fabric stretched over the IKEA frames. We've got 3 in a row and used IKEA fabric. Altogether it cost us under £15. Bargain indeed and I really like it.

think I'll go with fabric idea
am fed up looking at posters then trying to find clip frame to fit-they should make it easy and sell with clip frame
I give up

I have several original macmillan vintage school posters depicting fabulous social history scenes - titles including geography and history - I must say I have had several posters framed for my daughter's nursery and some for my kitchen - they look great. I also sell them - all in good/excellent condition - infact, they really do look fabulous framed for utilty/office/bathroom etc and a real investment too! I am always getting comments from friends - they are a great talking point - if you are interested I can email you some I have for sale (approx £25 each unframed).

Heh. This thread has reminded me how my otherwise sane and tasteful mother had a poster of Kevin Costner in her kitchen in the early '90s. Just blu-tac'd up, not framed Confused

this?

If you're going with framing fabric can I suggest you scour some charity shops for old frames, that you can paint, rather than using clip frames. They look much nicer.

Or, if you're up to the challenge, you could use photoshop or GIMP to make your own art (photos, graphics, collage-type etc.) amd have it printed at photobox and then frame in charity shop frames. That is what I have done.

Or, how is your art? Could you draw/paint something yourself? I have a love poster-size framed picture in my sitting room of 8 large butterflies, that I coppied out of a Butterfies of Great Britain book, and drew and coloured in with coloured pencil. It didn't matter that I am not artistic as I just had to copy them. It looks great.

Or, how's your kids' artwork? Could you scan in a selection of their drawings, and then make a poster by reducing each drawing to about 4"x4" and having them in a grid format and printing the whole thing as one poster via photobox?

This is a really old thread!

Was about to post and then realised I already did... in August last year Grin
