I didn't know IKEA did frames for fabric! I've got framed fabric in my living room but used one of their huge Ribba frames and stuck the fabric firmly top and bottom to the backing board with double sided tape. It's been up for about a year and still holding firm (touch wood). And because it's glazed (well, clear-plasticked) the fabric doesn't get dusty. I imagine uncovered fabric in a kitchen might get mucky?

It took me forever to decide on the fabric though - I synpathise with your 2 year hunt.

brimfull · 31/08/2010 17:32

yes had thought the fabric would get dirty
good idea to use ribba frame

but the transport sight has some great posters as well

decisions decisions

OP posts:
brimfull · 31/08/2010 17:34

did you use the mount to frame the fabric?

what fabric have you used..nosey

OP posts:
MissNuttyNutkins · 31/08/2010 17:40

Why not just a massive picture of Richard Armitage. Sorted. Wink

Lastyearsmodel · 31/08/2010 17:46

Yes, I did use the mount to frame the pic. Am a fan of mounts - helps make it look less crowded and therefore more expensive Grin.

Fabric is Marimekko-type print, slightly plantish/leafy looking in a nice weird green. Trawled all the fabric places I could think of, Liberty online, everywhere. Then where do I find it? My local market.

brimfull · 31/08/2010 19:00

nutty -I don't even know who richard armitage is

Lastyearsmodel - I will look at local market first then Smile

Polish film posters.

You could choose a film that means something to youand DH.
I particularly like Krokodile Dudee.[sic]
