Botox for that annoying vertical line between eyes?

Pinkflipflop · 29/08/2010 10:10

Just wondered if anyone has tried it for this? I don't have lines or wrinkles that are really deep or obvious, bearing in mind that I am 31, but the line between where I frown etc is horrible and I think it's really ageing. Sad

Has anyone used botox to sort this? Any ill results?

Also does anyone know if you can just target a small area with botox? I don't want to have a totally frozen forehead.

am watching with interest..........

purplepeony · 29/08/2010 10:18

Haven't had it but is supposed to be perfect for that- frown lines between eyes.

purplepeony · 29/08/2010 10:19

silly-ish question- have you stopped trying to frown, and do you need glasses? Not as daft as it sounds but frowing is a bit like squinting and can be an eyesight problem.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 29/08/2010 10:22

Oh I have this, saw a god awful picture of me the other day with a massive furrow...sigh. Would love to botox it away.

Pinkflipflop · 29/08/2010 11:02

Purplepeony - silly-ish reply! I can assure you it's not an eyesight problem!!

yes!

brimfull · 29/08/2010 11:15

how long does it last and is that the only area you've had done?

topsi · 29/08/2010 11:17

i have all three areas done it lasts 3-4 months

brimfull · 29/08/2010 11:18

what 3 areas are those ?

Can I ask your age?

how long have you been having it?

sorky · 29/08/2010 11:19

Yes, lasts 3mo and you will look younger

topsi · 29/08/2010 11:20

frown, forehead and crows feet, I have been having it for a few years, I would be a hag without it.

sorky · 29/08/2010 11:21

Ditto topsi

I'm 36, have 4 kids, don't look it (so I'm told)

brimfull · 29/08/2010 11:22

are you not worried about geting the puffy pillow face look that seems to beset some celebs like kylie

carefulwiththataxe · 29/08/2010 11:23

Interesting!! Any comments on probable cost or recommendations of places to get it done?

Pinkflipflop · 29/08/2010 11:23

Topsi - does it hurt? Do you go to a doctor or beauty salon? I'm being really cheeky now - how much do you pay?

Do you feel frozen, or does it feel as if you can still move your head?

Thanks

Think Kylie has had a bit too much there, I go to a local clinic and pay just under £300 for 3 areas. you won't look like Kylie if you just get your frown done.

sorky · 29/08/2010 11:28

I know you asked Topsi, but here's my tuppence worth too

Kylie has fillers, hence puffy face. She's past just botox

Doctor, £150 for 3 areas, though he is a friend.

Doesn't hurt, but first couple of times I got a whopping headache the next day, is normal.

If you get someone good you won't have a frozen face, though is a bit weird at first that eyebrows don't move.

It is addictive, you can't go back to not using it after you have iyswim. It makes that much of a difference

brimfull · 29/08/2010 11:30

thnks topsi and sorky

def no to fillers then

will think about getting my no11's done between the eyes

topsi · 29/08/2010 11:32

I think she's had too much in her forehead that has caused her brow to lower and makes her eyes look tired and puffy.

sorky · 29/08/2010 11:33

Fillers are great for the deep lines around the nose-mouth area.

It takes away the start of the jowly bits. Filler lasts a year and plumps the skin to give that 20's look again

If you pull back gently the skin at ear level, you'll see the effect that nose-mouth fillers will give you.

I wouldn't have anything else done though

Pinkflipflop · 29/08/2010 11:34

Thanks Topsi and Sorky

This may sound like a really strange question but does it affect how wide you can open your eyes? Obviously you can still open and close your eyes (of course) but if something is really shocking or you are surprised - can you still do wide eyed? This question may not make alot of sense but sometimes in my job I have to be a bit dramatic - but I HATE HATE HATE my permanent frown lines Sad

sorky · 29/08/2010 11:36

No but you won't be able to raise your eyebrows.

It really just takes away the crows feet
