Corsets and bras...

I was going to get a steel boned corset - partly for nights out to rock clubs, but also as decent support beneath strapless dresses.

However, after losing a load of weight my boobs definitely aren't what they used to be. They're just little empty fleshbags with a nipple on top. Will a corset just gape at the top? I used to be a 38DD, I'm more like a 34C now (although a 32F in Bravissimo, but I'm a bit Hmm about that), but regardless of what bra I seem to wear my boobs always look pathetic.

I've tried balconette, t-shirt, plunge etc, and no luck. I've been measured in Bravissimo, La Senza, Debenhams and M&S and they've always been a bit flummoxed and not been able to find a bra that a) fits me and b) makes me look good.

Any suggestions?

My sister (who wears a lot of vintage) wear the underbust corsets from What Katie Did - no use for wearing as outerwear (unless you're into that sort of thing Grin), but brilliant waist shaping. I think they might do longer ones.

Alternatively if you get a corset made to measure it will perfectly boost your boobs. Although TBH even a shop bought one should gape at the top, as you can just lace it as tightly as you need to stop gaping. 34C doesn't exactly sound teeny weeny (although I'm inclined to believe Bravissimo - most women wear too big a back size).

I'm a 34B and wear corsets - guess I'm used to having pathetic boobs though!

A corset is about a look - nipping in the waist as much as anything so I'd go for it.

Agent Provocateur do corsets in A/B and C/D cup sizes - not cheap but classic.

An overbust steel boned corset which can be worn on its own on evenings out may look too bulky if worn underneath a strapless dress as it's quite heavy and thick.

However if you want the nipped in waist then you are better off with a waist cincher or underbust corset.

There are loads www.lamagia.co.uk and www.fairygothmother.co.uk.

You can also get one custom made from the following; Axfords, Vollers or Snobz. It will set you back at least £80 but they are the real deal and they can probably recommend a suitable one for your requirements. Vollers also do lightly padded cups but I shouldn't think that you would need it if you are more than a B cup.

Hope it helps.
