Style rules you live by

Hi, I am just curious abut what style tips people have that improves their general appearance.

I am a bit of a mess really. I do not have a great sartorial eye, and always look a little as if i have just come in from mucking out horses. I am really trying to change my style.... i have become addicted blogs where people are trying to live chicly (is that a word?), like Anne Baronne's 'chic and slim' blog etc.

Despite my total messy nature, I do have a couple of rules I live by.... always wear dark toe polish; never wear competing patterns on clothes (so, horizontal stripes on a skirt and a top with a flower pattern for example). In winter I try and wear black and two other colours (black and emerald green is a fave) but other than that i seem to spend alot of time trying to look halfway decent... and failing.

I would love to hear what other people do.... what ideas they have in always looking good.

Yeah, well, if you have norks why hide them? In fact my norks, hands and eyes are all I'm really a fan of (and norks only when hoiked up by a good bra).

partytime · 08/08/2010 14:29

lucky ladies having norks, I always wanted a decent pair, mine have tended on the smaller size, no complaints though from anyone else, just my ishoo.

can't do scoop necks or v's, looks a bit bony.

spiritmum · 08/08/2010 16:20

Yes, but there's big norks and big norks, isn't there? After three kids the fat cells in them is the only thing giving them any life at all - it genuinely worries me that if I lose weight I'll end up with two large deflated balloons down my top.

Alouiseg · 08/08/2010 16:21

. I would love a waist.

FellatioNelson · 08/08/2010 19:23

Mine only look decent in clothes or a nice hoiky bra. They look shite in the flesh. Not only so I not pass the pencil test, I hold the the whole pencil case. Sad

Anyway Alouiseg you are not allowed a waist. You've got lovely legs. You can't have both - it's the law. And all women would hate you.

LittleCheesyPineappleOne · 08/08/2010 19:24

I agree: good legs or good waist/boobs. Not both. It's against the law.

Alouiseg · 08/08/2010 19:26

Well I've got great tits too, Wink just that barrel of flesh between the tits and the legs that needs sorting then :o

Alouiseg · 08/08/2010 19:28

Serious dietage resuming in one week. No more bagels or burritos for me.

FellatioNelson · 08/08/2010 19:47

That's the thing - legs, tits, waist. no-one is allowed more than two out of three. It's my rule. It's not fair on the rest of womankind.

I've had a very poor 48 hours on the food front as well - so I'm just ordering a curry with a whole nan bread just for me, and some bombay aloo, to round my excessive carb count off nicely in preparation for a strict re-start tomorrow.

Put stuff together that doesn't necessarily 'go' and strut along

Always have painted toes

don;t rely on black

wear wehat suits not whats 'in'

Update acessories regulary-they are what date an outfit IMO
