Frick..that is stunning!!

I'm working on DP at the moment for this

Oh and this but at £400 I am seriously deluding myself

Good luck!!!

duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:10

LOL it's very nice but I doubt Dh will see the need! When's the wedding? Any chance it might be in the sale before then?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:11

Also Bunny I bought some Anglomania but sent it back in the end, the material was not as nice as I thought it should be for the price - that £400 dress is only cotton and I bet it is not even nice thick starchy cotton either.

duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:13

Lady, any chance this KM dress in the sale would be a reasonable subsitute with very sparkly accessories?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:13

could get this instead i suppose

A site called Sika Designs. Saw the dress in grazia and fell in love.

Damn being a sahm and having lots of time to find pretty things but no fecking money to buy em

Can you not convince DH that your dress would be an investment as you'll wear it loads?

duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:14

laughing my socks off here Lady - snap!

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:14

ooo love the frocks at sika, this is nice!

i bought a 20's style cloche hat to wear to the wedding so was going to get this but have gone right orf it now

BunnyLebowski · 23/07/2010 14:17

Oh that's very interesting duplo. Good to be reminded that designer stuff ain't all it's cracked up to be sometimes

I'm not keen on the 2nd KM dress. It looks a wee bit dowdy compared to the spangly gorgessity of the first one.

duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:24

I love love love that Tiffany dress at sika. I think that LK Bennett dress would be a bit boring with a cloche hat, it would look a bit like Angelina Jolie in that swapped-child movie. I think you need a lot of sparkles with a cloche hat for a party look.

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:25

this is quite nice

OP posts:
TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:26

i have been ruined for all other dresses now!

OP posts:
duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:28

I like the sparkly one best. I had a lovely KM black & silver sparkly top that I wore LOADS and do you know what, when I realised I was never going to get back into it post-baby, I ebayed it and got something like 75% of the price back!

Does that help?

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:31

ah, thats a good point... and my weight never really alters...

this might be ok

OP posts:
duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:34

That's lovely but why does it say sold out?

Hassled · 23/07/2010 14:37

Sorry but I think the first looks like a Christmas bauble in dress form

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 14:48

ooo dunno...

see, im v petite with dark red hair in a louise broks style bob, so that kind of flapper style should look quite good...

i love it

OP posts:
duplotogo · 23/07/2010 14:49

clearly you would look fab in it

moragbellingham · 23/07/2010 15:09

The first KM dress is a real WOW dress, the kind that type where you could just look at it for ages - let alone wear it.
You would never be happy with the 2nd now I imagine, it's about 10% as nice!

£250 would be laughed at difficult to justify in this household.

duplotogo · 23/07/2010 15:15

I like the KM dresses with beading because they are quite heavy so hang nicely. I agree with morag, it would last well I think.

sue52 · 23/07/2010 15:26

That Karen Millen dress is beautiful. I'm sure you can persuade your DH that it is an investment and will increase in value over time. I wear dresses from the 40s and 50s that my mother passed to me. Good quality and style last and this dress looks like one to hang on to for your DCs. .

TheLadyOfTheGreenKirtle · 23/07/2010 15:27

it would hang beautifully. i could try the KM outlet at cheshire oaks.

tbh, i think it would be an investment... it would age v well.
