Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

I'm please someone recommend getting another battery too as mine runs out around bedtime and I don't like leaving laptop on all night to recharge the other battery.

magimedi · 04/02/2015 22:59

Oh, FFS - Diary - you do need two batteries, at a minimum.

Honestly, all unicorns put aside, there is nothing worse than wanting a puff & you can't because your battery is charging.

And I never leave batteries charging over night - far too worried about that. Nor do I leave my phone/kindle/nexus charging over night.

Get an Ileaf - it's a pass through so you can still puff whilst it's charging.

Ileaf + mini nautilus is the unicorn of vaping Grin

Yes I don't like leaving anything charging all night,I'll see how I get on with my EVOD then think about upgrading.

I'm struggling today, for no apparent reason, sucking on my vape constantly.

magimedi · 05/02/2015 12:38

At the start of vaping I had days like that, Diary. |Don't worry about it - so much better than smoking.

OP posts:
DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 05/02/2015 16:26

Thanks magimedi I was just having my eyebrows waxed and the lady said 'Oh no those are worse than smoking according to the radio' Hmm I walked out vaping away Grin

AgentCooper · 07/02/2015 11:38

I hate it when people come out with crap like that, Diary Sad

Yesterday was one whole month since I had my last stinky fag, and I'm over the moon. I wanted to say thanks to all the vaping vipers because, though I barely posted on here, reading everything you ladies had to say (in supportive, not intimidatingly techy ways) really helped me feel I could do it, despite real anxiety and hopelessness.

So thank you, sisters of the vape Flowers

magimedi · 07/02/2015 12:03

Well done agent & what a lovely post.

It's Plenty (I think) who always says that ther eis no "willy waving" on these vaping threads.

Are you celebrating your first monthy by getting any new kit? Shinyitis is what that is known as here Grin

And I have suffered from anxiety in the past & quitting smoking always used to put the anxiety levels into the stratosphere but none of that with vaping. In fact I think my levels have generally dropped because I no longer have the worry of smoking, a cough & am I killing myself. And I can exercise so much more easily & that helps with anxiety.

Vaping is the only example I've ever know of having your Cake & eating it.

OP posts:
AgentCooper · 07/02/2015 12:32

Agree with everything you've said re: anxiety, magi. I've had it since my teens but almost didn't realise how huge my fear of quitting smoking and my fear of having to continue to smoke and what might happen really were.

I got some shiny new bits and bobs last week Grin I was oddly tempted by a tank covered in diamanté but that would be a step too far!

Big tobacco must be quaking in their boots - quite a few of the janitors at my work who were hardcore smokers are now vaping. We all used to smoke together but now we're vaping buddies! Smile

MeganChips · 07/02/2015 13:53

I completely understand the fear of quitting which is odd considering how many times I've done it! It just feels like smoking is part of my psyche somehow and without it, I'm not the same person.

These threads have helped enormously. You all seemed to be enjoying vaping which was really reassuring and I am now 5 weeks fag free.

In other news, the dry burning worked really well and my nautilus arrived but I accidentally ordered the full sized one which was just too much so it's gone back. I have to start the wait again now!

Can anyone recommend somewhere that does strongly flavoured juices? Mine all seem a bit meh at the moment.

Well done agent, I've still been having 2 cigs per day but can see me dropping them soon and the money I have saved in just over a week is unbelievable. Ive been putting away money I would normally spend on smoking and can see me buying a nautilus quite soon. This thread has been great. Flowers

AgentCooper · 07/02/2015 15:14

Well done, Diary! I was still smoking 1 fag a day in the morning until 6 Jan but ran out and decided I rea didn't want to buy more. I thought I'd just give a full day's vaping a try, no pressure if I then decided I wasn't ready, but that was the turning point.

Are you going to get yourself something nice with the cash you've saved? I meant to get some new bras as mine are in a proper Wurzel Gummidge state but I was drawn towards a new dress instead Grin

magimedi · 07/02/2015 16:03

Diary It took me a couple of weeks to drop the last fag or two.

If any of you are near Eastbourne (Sussex) Vapour Rooms (my local shop) do a huge range & I know they have customised a few juices for people (with regard to PV & VG).

This time last year we were all talking of a vape meet - maybe this summer?

PS I have no connection to said shop - just know them well after over 2 years of vaping.

MeganChips · 07/02/2015 17:41

Thanks PolterGoose, I'll check that out.

magimedi you're not too far from me!

AgentCooper · 07/02/2015 18:23

Ah, I'd love to meet up with fellow vapers but I'm up in sunny Glasgow.

For any other Weegies, I'd recommend Vaporized on Sauchiehall St (friendly, helpful staff, nice spacious shop) and Vapour Frog (also on Sauchiehall St, nice staff, good juice). I've been to En Juice on Gt Western Rd a few times but found the tank and coils from there a bit iffy. There's a place called Tasty Reek near me on Cresswell Lane but it's always been shut every time I've visited.

A friend told me Jac Vapour in Edinburgh were selling lots of juices for £1 as it was nearing its best before date.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 07/02/2015 19:08

Im just outside Edinburgh so could try that shop. I'm quite happy with my tobacco for now, a friend gave me some American Grass and Vanilla to try do I might give them a go this week.

With my savings I might buy a new vape kit, it's that or an ironing board Hmm First thing though is I stupidly let DS1 have a contract phone at £13.99 per month, it didn't have a blocker on it and he ran up a bill of £260, so I'm paying that off first of all, then I'll treat myself. My friend keeps looking for Red Bull flavoured oil and has asked me to keep a look out for that so if I see it online will buy him some.

Thanks for the support, I'm sure I'll drop that morning stinky sooner rather than later.

magimedi · 07/02/2015 22:18

Megan - fancy a vape & coffee sometime?

Diary vapekit or an ironing board???

There is no choice/decision to be made there, surely??

Am thinking there is going to be a Northern Weegie meet & maybe a South East meet?

My granny came from Glasgow.

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 07/02/2015 23:09

Diary there's plenty of Red Bull type flavours around, but they can't call them that for copyright reasons. They are usually called "Energy Drink" or something similar. Try HERE for one I know is popular with their customers.

Magi finances are straight enough so I can afford a trip down to the coast as far as Eastbourne these days, so if we do have a meet I'm up for it now Grin.

ClashCityRocker · 08/02/2015 10:12

Morning all!

Well, I'm getting on well with the old vaping - almost three weeks now and just down to my morning cigarette.

I have a tornado V5 and decided to replace the atomizer (coil?) as I felt that the vape quality was decreasing. Put a new one in and it tasted like dead dogshit! What have I done wrong?

Switched back to my old atomizer/coil and that's fine - I think I was probably a little early changing it, tbh.

Ah, that might be the issue...will give that a bash.

magimedi · 08/02/2015 11:09

That's great news, Allergic.

Maybe we could have a vaping meet at the seaside in the summer, when (hopefully) the weather is nicer.

OP posts:
magimedi · 08/02/2015 11:11

Clash The morning cig was my last one to go. And when it went I didn't suffer from the dreaded effects that not having cig & coffee can have! All was normal!

Agree with Polter that not leaving the coil to soak up some juice can make it taste dire. With a new coil I find it takes a few puffs before the flavour settles.

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 08/02/2015 11:31

Totally with Polter and Magi on letting the liquid soak in for a bit, I tend to leave it for a while then hold the button down a couple of times for an 8-10 second burn without actually vaping to ensure all that silica nastiness has gone.

Definitely we should do a seaside vaping day trip Smile

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 08/02/2015 11:58

Ooh count me in for a south east vape meet Smile
