Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

Nice balanced article in yesterday's Mail Online (of all places) about coffee shops etc banning e-cigs

Well done magi that's fantastic! Flowers Grin

Oh my just got some Kanger iPOW 2 batteries in to try out. They are rather nice, if a bit bigger than the same mAh Vision spinner 2s. Shiny shiny with a nice little display panel, very nice vape from them

Sadly for me, I HAVE to use one for at least 2 days to test it properly Grin

ditavonteesed · 06/11/2014 19:17

Keep getting a burnty taste about every 4 puffs on my new itaste VVV 03, what settings do other people have them on? and is it a problem anyone else has? Mainly Polter as I know you have the same one. I am just using the clearos it came with but have tried bout 3 of the clearos with different flavours and it happens with all of them.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 08/11/2014 20:47

dita you've probably worked it out by now but if not, it sounds like you need to turn it down a bit. A standard ego battery is 3.7V so start there and turn it up a bit at a time.

I've just (half) watched 'Missing' on BBC.

The French detective, the one with a limp, in the modern day bit of it was clutching & vaping what looked very like an ego vape set.

Great to see vaping as a normal thing on TV.

(Just not that into that program)

I have just moved from a cigalike to an atomiser. I've been dual fuelling the last few weeks after 9 weeks solely vaping. Can anyone recommend flavours? I've been using nicotine up until now but would quite like to try others.

Just ordered myself some new liquids from pimpmyvape. They are doing 5 for £12 and free delivery. Will let you all know how I get on with them :)

Haha Polter, on 'threads I'm on' it cuts the end of the post off - I read 'Liberty Flights have a Kanger Evod starter kit for £1' Still a bargain though.

What was giveup on about magi? Was it spam?

Allergic, there's a great article by Robert West on the OUP blog.

Has everybody seen that was posted a couple of days ago?
Really good talk and covers all the bases Smile

I'm a bit of a stick-in-the-mud with my RY4/RY6 but tonight I'm trying a new flavour - Hangsen Ancient. It's very nice - if you like sweetish tobacco flavours it's worth a whirl.

Allergictoironing · 19/11/2014 22:09

Plenty giveup was trying to get volunteers to star in a "I gave up smoking using this product from the big pharma company giveup works for" video. Posted on 3 threads, I reported it too.

When you bear in mind I was reported by someone & my comment taken down because I managed to negotiate a special mumsnet discount with my friends' company, I think giveup was going just a step too far (does that sound sour grapes & whiney? Sad)

magimedi · 19/11/2014 22:31

Total spam, Plenty - some lazy journo looking for people giving up via vaping & promising them a moment of fame on You tube.

Pah! Rubbish & crap. Tried spamming three threads but I was on to them.

Sadly, according to my email, MNHQ only give gin for detecting four spamming threads.

Rubbish. I deserve gin & might flounce!! Grin

Wow I'd love to know the name of the company if anybody fancies PMing me!

That's shit Allergic! I don't think anybody could complain if we posted dicount codes here and then linked to them Wink

Allergictoironing · 20/11/2014 08:10

They didn't give the name, just "a large pharmaceutical company" or words to that effect.

Must admit I was a bit miffed at mine being taken down, apparently it was classed as un-paid-for advertising for my mate's company though MNHQ said there had been complaints. In reality, they set up this particular discount code as a thank you on my behalf for all the help I'd had on these threads Sad.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 20/11/2014 20:53

videos are up from last week's ecig summit. I haven't watched them yet but followed the summit on Twitter. Lots of very positive stuff came out but the panel discussions got quite heated!

MazzR · 21/11/2014 18:47

Hi I've been reading here with interest. Just beginning to vape, have a basic shopping centre ecig and am using apple flavour liquid but I have a few qs if that's ok? Firstly, I see some of you use different flavours all the time. Does that mean that ye have seperate things that the juice goes into and just screw them on and off as the diff flavours take your fancy? I only have one. Actually, I have two but one is full of a rotten tobacco flavour juice that I thought I should start with when I first bought (big mistake). So can I just empty that and put in a diff juice? Also, the lingo. I have no idea what ye are talking about but I did see a very pretty colourful one on another thread that I want!! Any advice??

MazzR · 21/11/2014 18:48

Btw, thanks in advance!

Allergictoironing · 21/11/2014 20:13

Hi MazzR & welcome!

Some people (e.g. me) have loads of tanks/clearos (the thing the liquid goes in), some have one or two & rinse them out between flavours, and some just dump one flavour on top of another. Do bear in mind that the coil (the bit in the tank that vaporises the liquid) will pack in after a while, usually 2-6 weeks, so you always should have a spare around anyway.

The lingo you'll get used to after a while, I'm afraid there's too much to explain in one post. we did start a "terminology" thread but it died a death.

There's a range of types of battery about, and they tend to fall into 3 main types:
Standard "ego" style batteries, that you just screw the tank onto, press the button & away you go.
Variable voltage/wattage batteries like the vision spinner, ego C twist & Kanger iMOW, where you turn a dial on the bottom to adjust the power output of the battery.
"Mods" where the shape is different & also with most you buy the case/"brain" and add your own specialist rechargeable batteries.

If you're after bling, the Vision spinners can be bought in a lovely metallic rainbow effect (just google Vision Spinner Rainbow for pics), but I think I saw you commenting on a square shaped one called the eLeaf iStick - Poltergoose has a pink one & can answer any questions on them. You also have to bear in mind that the tanks are usually interchangeable; we all have our favourite tanks & they come in a very wide range of prices.

Feel welcome to dribble in questions as & when they come to you Smile

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 21/11/2014 20:24

Hi Mazz, well done for making the switch Smile

Your grotty tobacco tank might be OK after a good clean. Take it to bits and give everything a good blast through with hot water then leave it to dry. If it's still a bit whiffy you could try soaking it in some cheap vodka. If that doesn't sort it out it's probably not worth the effort unless it's a posh one. Do you know what it's called or can you post a picture?

Some different flavours are OK straight on top of the last flavour, e.g. you could put a different fruit flavour in your apple tank without washing it out and it would be fine. There are a few flavours that are very difficult to get rid of e.g. vanilla, menthol or spicey flavours - I tend to use separate tanks for those.

If you feel like trying a lot of flavours it's good to have a few tanks on the go and it's always a good idea to have at least one spare of everything. Lots of us use the cheap and cheerful GS-H2 (or am I the only one left using them? Grin). I can't find the sellers I usually get them from but these look genuine and are a good price.

The battery you are probably after is the rainbow vision spinner or what I think of as the 'Mumsnet Mod' because it's so popular here. There's a vision spinner II now but I don't know if it comes in rainbow.

Batteries and tanks are all pretty much interchangeable by the way.

or what she said Grin
