Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

I can relate to that Allergic - I spent the day with a smoker on Saturday and loved the smell of his fresh smoke. At moments like that I do still feel a pang of longing for a proper cigarette hit (I stopped smoking four months ago now) but not enough to actually have one. If he had offered I probably would've had a puff, but for my sake he didn't.

On Sunday i was vaping outside a cafe and we were approached twice by people wanting vape advice - always glad to spread the word!

Has anyone tried the Aspire Nautilus clearo? I had a shopping accident last night and ordered that and some Swedish Fish to put in it Grin

Well THAT was an interesting 10 minutes - demonstrating e-cigs to one of the GPs who'd just finished giving me acupuncture! She'd actually asked me to talk about them to one of the cleaners, who'd given up at their stop smoking clinic before but started again, and ended up coming out of her office to listen in & ask questions! Grin

rockpink · 24/07/2014 22:33

plenty waves I've been directed here, can I say hello?

magimedi · 24/07/2014 22:51

Hallo rockpinkl - ask away - no question is too silly.

I have 2 e-cigs, third day now, all seems ok, just with horrendous PMT! Craving a cig a bit today.
I have tried a wizards leaf flavour, didn't like cos it was so sweet! I am, however liking a menthol one and a lemon menthol one. However it doesn't feel or taste like smoking, can you suggest an alternative flavour?
I also have a coconut one which kinda tasted a bit toasted (not that nice) and they sent me a tropical one that smells like lilt!!

Firsttimer7259 · 25/07/2014 07:57

Any advice on kit? I've been vaping since about March. Its been great in terms of stopping smoking and I'm down to 6mg strength liquid but I'm getting annoyed w my kit. The tanks leak is my main complaint - I also bought a crappy replacement battery after one broke. Crappy in that it doesn't last all day.
My main shop is itaste - my recommendations?

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 25/07/2014 08:32

Hello rockpink Smile - nothing will ever taste like smoking, unfortunately (or fortunately Grin) The faggiest flavour I have found is RY6 but it's a bit hefty on its own. I mix it with RY4 which is a very popular tobacco/caramel/vanilla blend. You might find it a bit sweet - you could try RY1 which is the least sweet of the RY blends (same page as RY4). You will probably try loads of different flavours before you work out your favourites. If I were you I would just buy loads of different ones from that premier site - they're only £2 each and the quality is very consistent (though not 'gourmet'!). You could also get some samples from www.smokerainbow.com/ but I don't think you can choose what strength. Coffee flavours can work well if you don't have a sweet tooth.

Hi Firsttimer, how much do you want to spend? Grin If you are after battery life, the MVP is excellent. If that's a bit much, anything above 1000 mah should last you a day. Lots of choices here including the very popular rainbow vision spinner.

What sort of tank are you using at the moment? They all leak a bit occasionally IME. Lots of us get on well with the GS-H2 (from klaudo on ebay) but there are far posher things that you might prefer.

My protank 2 leaks a bit sometimes. Must be the way I suck Blush

Have you got your Nature Vape yet Polter? I have heard lots of good things about them.

Does it fit in the protank 2? I might get one.

SublimeCorpse · 28/07/2014 14:13

hello all - quick question.

i have a basic ce4 (i think!) and it keeps going all gurguly - any ideas?

SublimeCorpse · 28/07/2014 14:14

oh, i also have 2 liquids, but they taste and smell kind of like burnt caramel - and my watermelon one is ever so slightly fishy Blush

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 28/07/2014 15:14

Hi Sublime, try unscrewing the CE4 from the battery, holding a tissue underneath and blowing down it quite hard. That can often clear the gurgles. Do you have any spares? If not, now's the time to get some. Lots f us get on well with the GS-H2 - these have a bottom coil and work a bit differently to the CE4 - no dangly strings. If you want another top coil, the iclear 16 is pretty good. You have two coils so you get a lot more vapour. You can also replace the coil heads in those.

Sorry about your liquids, it's possible the burnt caramel one is actually burning. You could try although I never had much success with that.

SublimeCorpse · 28/07/2014 20:43

Thanks Pube, I currently have the iclear - did have 2 as I only have 2 liquids at the moment but dropped on and cracked it. Have ordered a pack of 5 of those from eBay, but like the look if the other one you linked to, so will get a couple of them too. How do they work? They don't have the stringy bit!

I have 2 different hangsen liquids - a watermelon and a smooth tobacco - they both smell and taste of burnt caramel, kind of like the disposable ecigs. Have tried the dry burning and now charging, so will see if that's helped. Thanks again.

Also the liquids I'm using are 12mg nicotine ones. Should I try stronger ones? Was smoking 20 a day. Tried the 18mg in the vape shop but they really caught in the throat and I didn't like it.

Have found a down side to vaping. It's a bit tricky on the beach and in boats, trying to keep it dry and unsandy. Always loved a fag after snorkling/diving, but was almost impossible to vape with a wet wetsuit on, as water kept pishing out of the sleeves down my hands. One battery died. Never used to worry about getting a rollie wet. However, I didn't smoke even though I was surrounded by smokers all week and on a boat without a working battery, but lots of baccy for several hours Grin

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 29/07/2014 07:40

Sublime, you can get replacement coil heads here. It might just be that you don't like the flavours you have. Most of us try a lot of different ones before discovering thye ones we like best. If you're doing OK on 12mg then stick with it but if you are still craving fags go up to 18 but get higher VG as Polter suggests.

Peri you need the E-LVT. .

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 29/07/2014 07:41

And very well done for not giving in Flowers

Allergictoironing · 29/07/2014 08:03

Hi Sublime. The top coil clearos need long stringy wicks because they need to reach down to be in contact with the liquid, especially when the tank is running low on liquid. With bottom coil clearos the liquid is always right next to the coil so they only need a tiny wick to feed the coil. When you get yours you can unscrew the bottom & examine the coil & housing a bit better, & you'll see there's a tiny tuft of wick coming out either side Smile.

I'm pants at dry burning & have wrecked a couple doing it but as I have loads of clearos plus spare coils I tend to just drop the coils in a mug of water for a few hours then let it dry out on it's own, probably every couple of weeks per coil. With the GS-H2s you can actually see the wick change from dark & gunky to nice & clean.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 29/07/2014 08:46

There's a quite detailed review of the gs-h2 .

The big difference to be aware of is that you fill them from the bottom.

Perihelion · 29/07/2014 10:26

Ha Plenty, that reminds me of my old destruction proof Nokia phone. I feel you're tempting me to have a slow tech shopping accident Grin
