Hooray to getting our own space (within giving up smoking).

Flowers & Wine (gin) to MNHQ for giving us this space.

I'm hoping some of our most knowledgeable vapers are going to start threads about specific aspects of vaping.

Protank 2, protank 2 mini, 3 mini and normal evod. I think I must just not be using it right :/

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 12/07/2014 23:28

Yes I usually get mine from klaudo. Someone should tell him he's the darling of the MN vapers Grin

Allergictoironing · 13/07/2014 07:36

I reckon he should give me some freebies - I was the one who first found & linked to him & now look at the custom he's getting from MN! Wink Grin

OohQuack · 13/07/2014 21:38

I firmly believe vaping is helping me with slimming world, I started sw 5 weeks ago n I really don't miss sweets n choc, I think it's because I'm getting the flavours I love from the liquids I use.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/07/2014 08:08

I'm sure you're right, Oohquack. I came across this the other day. I'm not sure what the 'appetite suppressant' in them is or whether a normal 0% nic ecig would be just as effective - mind you, nicotine is an appetite suppressant and also speeds up metabolism so I reckon you're already on the winning combination.

Allergictoironing · 14/07/2014 08:22

I just had a look at that site Plenty - they launched in Dec 2013, so I'm pretty sure that if nothing else they got the idea from vapers & vaping.

I remember many years ago there were supposed appetite suppressant "pens" you would sniff which were fruit & minty flavours.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/07/2014 08:52

Their kit looks like a bog standard ego and clearos. The only difference I can see is that their juice contains Garcinia Cambogia. I did a bit of digging and found this page which suggests that it doesn't really work. Also that the usual dose is 500mg half an hour before meals. I can't see how you could take in that much by vaping it, or how it would have any of the supposed effects on digestion if you were not eating it.

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/07/2014 08:59

I love this from their 'how it works' page -

The core of Vapor Diet™ is the unit or battery, which functions as the brain of the device. The battery entails more than a mere power source in this instance, containing many essential components. It includes an advanced smart chip, operating mode sensor and lithium ion battery cell. All of which are concealed within a sleek elegant aluminum tube.

Essentially, when you puff on the vapor unit, the operating mode button when pressed and held will subsequently trigger the microcomputer “smart chip,” which in turn will signal the lithium ion battery to release a charge to the atomizer.

It's a battery with a button on it Grin

£70 for a basic starter kit????? Shock

avoiretre · 14/07/2014 09:52

Started vaping 3 or 4 weeks ago, even though I quit smoking 3 or 4 years ago. I was a difficult decision, but I missed nicotine and felt I would start smoking again one day anyway. Loving it so far, better than expected!

It feels really big and clunky to me as I normally use the cheap eBay Gs-h2's.
I have a mini protank 2 but everything tastes burnt in it :(
Waiting for my mini protank 3's to arrive :)

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/07/2014 19:06

Very pretty! Smile Mine's all well 'ard and scuffed up. Polter, was that from your FT order? If so it arrived very quickly!

avoire, good for you! One of the best things about vaping, for me, is feeling relapse-proof. My DMum had to stop smoking a few years ago and is so miserable, still misses it every day. I have thought of suggesting vaping to her but she doesn't really 'get' it - there are now 6 vapers in the family and she thinks we are all still smoking.

ineed - your burny protank could be one of two things - either it's getting too hot or the juice isn't getting through properly. What ohms is it reading and what settings are you using with it?

I've actually not tried it on my MVP, i've had it on my spinner on the lowest setting. I googled it and someone said to turn the little rubber ring the wrong way around to increase airflow but that made no difference either...

Vaping cream tea just now from triphammer, lovely!

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 14/07/2014 19:31

Polter, sounds like it, yes!

ineed, you could try .

ineedausername · 15/07/2014 19:58

i like my new purple mini protank 3... totally worth the 1234651321746512 million week week wait from Slow tech ;)

Allergictoironing · 21/07/2014 09:21

On Saturday I think I had another breakthrough. I was at a massive birthday party - in the (enormous) gardens near the pool (friends have plenty of money), there was a mix of smokers, non smokers & vapers.

I found myself actively enjoying the smell of very fresh cigarette smoke occasionally drifting past, with absolutely zero desire for a cigarette myself despite being offered one a couple of times. I even had zero desire for the "alternative" rollups going around once the kids had all left, though enjoyed the smell of the smoke from that even more Wink!

magimedi · 21/07/2014 09:25

I am not sure that I would have resisted the 'alternative', Allergic.

But it's been many years since I indulged & I probably would have fallen over.

I WAS a little tempted, but knew I'd have to leave & drive home soon after. Plus it was a classic old fashioned mix with tobacco, & I decided that what I was tempted by was my memories from the past and it might taste so foul to me that it would spoil those pleasant memories.
