Met DP DC and they were lovely.

it was an hour to an hour and a half. We cooked them (myself and partner) cooker a stir fry

light and casual conversation. Got a few laughs but all in all two very polite young men. I know this sort of things take time and are delicate.

tbh I’d like to get to know them
more but I’ll be led by my partner.

fellow partners girlfriends/wives-
do you have any advice/tips which will be greatly appreciated.

It’s great you got on so well. I’d suggest following your dp and his dc lead on this. Tell him you enjoyed meeting them and would love to get to know them. Then let him arrange any future meet ups once he’s had a chance to check in with them and ask how they’re feeling about it all .
If all goes well, you could make it a monthly thing of meeting up for dinner and a catch up.

Just be yourself and don't try to force things. Don't let other people, especially those who aren't step mothers, tell you what the relationship should look like. Let things develop over time in a way that is right for you.
