"you don't treat DSD10 the same as your own kids, that's unfair"

"Why can't DSD10 have sweets 5 mins before dinner? She probably won't eat it anyway. She only comes EOW and it needs to be special for her"

Actually said by DP.

My evil MIL when talking about someone else's DSD said "well, it's not blood is it?" Ignoring fact I have been Stepmum to her granddaughter for nearly 15 years......

"DSD10 says she won't come if Dd4 gets a pet"

"DSD10 wants a dog. We are going to get one today"

This is despite the fact that Dd4 was absolutely terrified of dogs at the time.

DSD10 now doesn't have much to do with said dog, but he has turned out to be a cracker and is particularly close to Dd4!

Your husband is a liar and his ex isnt that bad - he MUST have been abusive and he is spinning you a line. Said ad infinitum every time one of exes outrageous antics was posted for over 7 years.

EE that holiday thread! I've just checked it out.. sorry if we're not supposed to mention other threads but - SMs should now pay for a holiday for ExW and DSC if we are going away with just our DH?

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaarrr!

Report
happygirl87 · 22/08/2014 15:42

No no no Trevor - because it is unthinkable that we would EVER go away with just DH, as that would be akin to feeding Snow White a poisoned apple in terms of Evil Step Mother Behaviour

Mil fairly regularly calls me by the ex's name.

I've been married to her son for 10 years, twice as long as they were married.

Fucking hell macdoodle is a real treasure! I hadn't seen that thread but have given up reading as it's giving me the rage

why as step parents are we not allowed a life that doesn't involve someone else's kids?!

We had a good one from DSD - Dad I don't need you to parent me, just let me visit you and enjoy the time. Mum parents me.

Hmm

We had similar from DSS, conned

"I never want to see you again, but I still need a bedroom at your house just in case of emergencies" Confused

I also know I get demands from ExW, as in........my mum thinks you need to tidy up more.

DSD10 's mum has got her 1st job working 1 day a week in a friends cafe. I actually did tell DP to tell her to KMA.

Blimey - even I'm in Shock

A SM is selfish not to take on the full time parenting of a DSC because what's one more when you've got your own?

Report
catsmother · 27/08/2014 19:03

On that basis Wakey I have no idea why we're not all rushing down to local social services and fostering/adopting all those poor kids who literally have no-one (as opposed to kids with separated parents who strop backwards and forwards between each parent to, for example, avoid rules they don't like or to play parents off against each other). We must all be really selfish eh ? Hmm

WakeyCakey45 · 29/08/2014 22:13

You knew what you were getting into, and should have predicted every possible eventuality, so if your DSC father turns out to be a bullying arse who delegates all his parenting responsibilities to you, then you only have yourself to blame and choosing to end your relationship with him is incredibly selfish and wrong.

There is one on here about reducing maintenance (sorry don't know how to link) where someone has uttered the immortal line of NRP's have no right to go on to have more kids if it means they have to reduce maintenance as it has a direct impact on the RP's household....and yet RP giving up her job or refusing to work full time when all her kids are at school and she could increase her hours but means she would lose her benefits therefore DP has to stump up all the extras she insists on meaning we have less available is apparently ok!

'D'H walks through the door tonight after being away for 2 weeks with myself, step-child and step-child's friend ( Disney Dad overload), followed 12 hours after stepping off the plane going on 'their' 3 1/2 week European jolly (just the 2 of them), first words were DS and I have decided that we will do this every summer... wanker ... now a single wanker as I'm done!

Report
wheresthelight · 29/08/2014 23:00

Oh my life tutt!! I remember your posts about this. What a complete cock! Surely he should be discussing this with you first as i assume it would impact on your holidays if he is using up all his allowance on one jolly with his son.

He is entitled to spend time with his son, but as your husband you should be consulted

Report
Tutt · 29/08/2014 23:14

No wouldn't impact as he works for himself BUT it impacts our company greatly.
He has a good 3-4 a day of quality time every day with his son so a 3 1/2 week holiday plus a 2 week holiday PLUS the other holidays i.e.. Easter camping one he takes him on every year, the long weekends fishing and doing 'fun' stuff is taking the piss IMHO.
