We got a gold and 2 bronze in the rowing this morning.

Looks like we're on course for more medals in the cycling tonight.

Sadly we've slipped to 5th as the French won a Judo gold.

World record and gold in team pursuitGrin

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 03/08/2012 18:41

We're back in 4th, ahead of France again.

EdithWeston · 03/08/2012 18:43

So that's 20 medals, up to fourth place (above the French).

EdithWeston · 03/08/2012 18:52

X-post with IOBIMST !

I'll C&P the list above with today's updates later (unless someone beats me to that!). BTW, this thread was started today, and it has more detail than has been put on this thread as it includes the names of members of the winning teams.

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 03/08/2012 19:07

They just keep on coming, Pendleton gold for the women's keirinGrin

EdithWeston · 03/08/2012 19:12

That put us up to third, doesn't it?!?

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 03/08/2012 19:14

Yes, although I doubt we'll go higher than third, with china and the US so far ahead.

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 03/08/2012 19:16

Edith, I'll repost it here....

Easier than more than one thread. Give me 5 to update it.

South Korea overtook us again, we're back in 4th. US is top now, after that amazing swimming!

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 03/08/2012 20:26

What the hell is going wrong for Russia???

Only 3 gold so far. Lots of Bronzes, but normally they are a clear third.

EdithWeston · 03/08/2012 20:30

I wonder what would happen if you added all ex-USSR countries' haul together. I think they would be much higher up (the Kazakhs alone have 3x Gold).

HmmThinkingAboutIt · 03/08/2012 20:34

The thing is though the final 2008 medal table looked like this:
G S B Total
1 China 51 21 28 100
2 United States 36 38 36 110
3 Russia 23 21 29 73
4 Great Britain 19 13 15 47
5 Germany 16 10 15 41

So Russia alone got nearly twice as many as us.

EdithWeston · 03/08/2012 20:35

I've just looked at the current BBC version of the medals table, and "USSR" would be in third place, with 12 Gold, 12 Silver, 17 Bronze (total 41).

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 03/08/2012 21:12

If we're going down that road, can we have all the "british empire" back for medal purposes? We'd be way out in frontGrin

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 04/08/2012 11:44

Another rowing gold, men's 4s, we're back to 3rd in the tableGrin

FrankelSaysRelax · 04/08/2012 11:58

And another rowing Gold - Women's lightweight double sculls.

Having never won a women's rowing Gold before this Olympics, we've now won 3!

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 04/08/2012 12:05

Just watching the medal presentation for the men's 4s, the second American from the left appears to have an erectionBlush.

Whitamakafullo · 04/08/2012 12:07

I noticed he looked a but excited!

DH commented that the guy wouldn't know where to hang the medal Grin

IOutrunBoltInMySpareTime · 04/08/2012 12:20

Men's lightweight doubles was stopped as a wheel broke on GB seat. They gave him a screwdriver and he fixed it.
Very Heath Robinson!

FrankelSaysRelax · 04/08/2012 12:28

Silver
