So I've had this verucca for 7+ years. GP says to home treat or wait until my body fights it. Since November I've used numerous things. Filed it , dug at it ( I know I shouldn't don't judge please ) i got a tape that is medical like gaffer tape to suffocate it too. But I'm so heavy footed it doesn't stay in place. I have one the same on the other foot too.

Give me your tips I'm desperate. I go abroad in Aug and I need it gone.
I've tried
Gaffer tape , it just comes off
The medical tape , can't remember the name
Bazucca extra strength gel
Bazucca freeze stuff
Boots freeze stuff

That's also the only areas i get hard skin a bit so makes it more difficult to sort.

@Moaning5what brand cream please?

My verruca, 17 years old, persistent and painful, vanished after a holiday in Turkey, after I walked from my sun lounger to the bar with no shoes on, and burnt the soles of my feet briefly. So I would recommend a sunshine holiday and no flip flops 🩴 🌞

@ExBert80 It was a white upright tube with yellow/orange on - I think it was called Forever or Forever Living. They had different types but this was the thick propolis one and about £18 a tube but lasted ages and could use on allsorts x

My failsafe tip that has worked on my 10 year old verucca and both kids veruccas on several occasions:

Bazuka Extra Strength put on at night - let it dry. Do this for 3-4 days letting it layer up. Then when you have a nice thick layer peel it off and repeat the process. Could take 6-12 months but do that religiously and eventually you'll peel and the whole think will come away.

(Had tried nail varnish, duct tape etc etc and those methods hadn't worked)

My DD (13) had a huge deep one on the side of her toe. I tried everything and in the end got the freeze pen and completely ignored all instructions and blasted it 4 times a day, each time until she genuinely couldn't stand it being that cold (way longer than recommended). About two weeks later the whole thing popped out like a solid black pea, it was huge. Me and DD still laugh at her horrified reaction to the giant crater in her toe. It never came back.

I used light blocking stickers from Amazon (the ones that are meant to cover charging lights on power leads etc. ) . They have a foil inner and are thick and super sticky. They worked better than gaffer tape. Would say that took a good month of consistent taping to get rid. Good luck!

I finally got rid of a 7yr one with black tape but I kid you not when I say 2 weeks later I got another one, and its still here 8years later :(

Apple cider vinegar. Read it it on here and sorted DD’s in less than a week.

I had an absolutemy revolting cluster of veruccas on my heel - I tried everything. Then I was put on a course of multivitamins for something else and they all disappeared. I know correlation is not cause but I’m convinced that’s what did it.

Pandasarethebest · 10/05/2026 07:47

My son had one. We tried the bazooka stuff (which had worked for his sibling).
Eventually took him to foot dr. He put the nitrate stuff on. But told us every week to file it, put tea tree oil on and then clear nail varnish. It came off a few weeks later. Had to cancel out 2nd app as it had all come out. It was gross but saved another £50.

I had a cluster of them and a few around it for years and years. NOTHING got rid of them.

I used a scalpel and cut it out over a week or so. I had to get deep into my foot. Theyve stayed away now!

that’s amazing

I have a corn between two toes that has been there more or less for about 20 years. Nothing has ever worked on it so I've always just resorted to clipping it down a bit with nail clippers. Recently I tried a corn cap with salicylic acid impregnated in it. I put it on and left it for 2 days.

I was shocked when after the two days, I took the cap off and the corn peeled off. I'm sure it's going to come back BUT it took a huge chunk out.

Is there something like that for verrucas? I had to tape it in place with a big plaster as well as the cap itself but it worked amazingly well.

The cap is a ring of cushioned foam with salicylic acid in the middle. Although they're for corns, I'd try them on your verruca. I'm sure it'd be more than a 2 day job but it might do the trick.
