I bought this about 2 weeks ago and scared to use it 😂 are your feet sore?

SpikeWithoutASoul · 19/07/2023 23:10

Did mine last week. It doesn’t hurt at all. You need to wait patiently for the skin to come off. Anything that comes off easily after a soak in the bath is fine to peel away.

Op can I ask did it make your feet swell up? You mentioned 'fat'. I have a footner but too scared to use it.

No, feet didn't swell up due to the Footner- I am just a lardy lump with podgy feet to match.

Definitely give your Footner a go!

Ooh I footner'd 10 days ago and my feet are almost done shedding. I'm thankful it's been sock weather the last couple of days. I need a trip to the chiropodist to make them really sparkle.

@NeverDropYourMooncup you are spot on, I think! My feet DO slide around in my shoes. How did you suss that?

I cant get these massive flaps of skin off my heels.

Experience!

Your heels aren't ready yet - leave them to do it by themselves, rather than risk tearing into living skin.

Sweet jesus

Bobbybobbins · 20/07/2023 07:49

Impressive!

Magmum75 · 20/07/2023 08:05

The problem with Footner though is you always get a weird line of uneven skin where the treatment stops.

Topee · 20/07/2023 11:29

That is amazing, am off to buy some

These ones work well - they're often on special offer as well Valsole Orthotic Insole High Arch Foot Support Soft Medical Functional Insoles, Insert for Severe Flat Feet,Plantar Fasciitis,Feet Pain, Foot Valgus for Man and Woman (UK-7-26cm, Blue) : Amazon.co.uk: Fashion

Feel a bit weird when you first have them in, but you adapt very quickly - and if your foot rolls inwards, it makes you stand straighter and more more 'smoothly', so you're less likely to have ankle, knee, hip or lower back pain.

I get fancy-schmancy custom orthotics but they cost a shit ton and these are good enough for the additional pairs of shoes I don't wear often.

Oh, and there's a good chance that there's a removable insole already in your trainers - take that out first.

For heavy lifting, it's more ergonomic to have as flat/low a heel as possible so you're as near barefoot as possible, but for cardio, absolutely use the insoles.

I'm very much into ergonomics and function because I've got multiple things wrong with me (joints, connective tissue, etc) and the number 1 most helpful thing I've ever done is start using orthotics. And nobody wants plantar fasciitis. Trust me, I know.

It’s when I start doing the weights that the pain starts. They are ok in the cardio warm up. I’m not crunching my toes, keeping them relaxed.
I had flat feet as a child, and I had a couple of years of plantar fasciitis.

Ah, right, then you're still over pronating and stretching/tearing the fascia and need to wear them all the time. Lowest heel drop you can manage and insoles so you're as solid on the ground at three points as possible and your toes are spreading wiiiiide - maybe adjust your foot position so you're turning them outwards slightly? And then an ice bottle under your arch for recovery.

I'm drooling here ... make the most of this special time of peeling wonder, OP!

Krystall · 21/07/2023 06:00

A word of caution on Footner. Both me and DH did a treatment about three years ago, yes both peeled away quite well and had lovely feet for a while. But I think it unnaturally interrupted normal skin growth and shedding and about six months later we both had awful feet, worse than they had been before treatment and it took about 12-18 months to get back to normal. Never again for us.
