PuggyMum · 19/07/2023 21:26

Oh wow. That's very impressive!
Have you done a footner before? I did about 6 years ago. I wonder if I should have another session!

TeddyBeans · 19/07/2023 21:27

Thank you!! I saw your other thread and this is truly glorious! Happy peeling 😁

TomatoSandwiches · 19/07/2023 21:28

Impressive 👏

PinkShoelacesAndAPolkaDotVest · 19/07/2023 21:31

Amazing!

honeyfox · 19/07/2023 21:40

Does it hurt at all? Looks scary but I think I need it. Didn't have dry feet all my life till recently.

Shweep · 19/07/2023 21:40

Gloriously disgusting OP 👏

I've been thinking about getting some of these since I read a thread a few weeks ago. Not sure if I dare. Can I ask, is it painful underneath?

NeverDropYourMooncup · 19/07/2023 21:41

That looks spectacular!

I can tell exactly what changes you need to make to your footwear there - your feet are sliding around in your too big shoes and that's caused the meaty callus in the middle, around your heels and the sides of your feet.

Once this wonderful shedding is complete and you've gone down half a size, you need to secure your feet instead of wearing slip on things that you're trying to grip with your toes to hold on your feet. I reckon you're probably barefoot in them at lot as well.

Good ways to prevent this are

  1. Shoes that have a fastening - laces, straps, that kind of thing
  2. Arch supports/insoles
  3. Socks whenever possible
  4. Fleece lined indoor footwear (it'll feel lovely as well).

Looking after that lovely, fresh skin will be a positive pleasure in comparison - CCS Foot Care Cream is brilliant and combined with a fine foot file, none of those evil grater things, you'll have wonderful skin.

I also think you probably need to use moisturiser on your legs as well as your feet, as it looks as though you've got dry skin on the tops of your feet, which usually goes up your shin and leg. Nothing fancy is required, just use emollient ointment after your bath/shower.

You did start this off in S&B, after all....

Shweep · 19/07/2023 21:41

I'm not sure I'd be able to resist picking it off, then I'd have sore feet 🤔

SquawkerTexasRanger · 19/07/2023 21:44

Oh you can good you absolute legend. They are gloriously disgusting. You are going to have amazingly smooth feet after this. Probably two sizes smaller too 😁thanks for the great pics

DustyLee123 · 19/07/2023 21:44

@NeverDropYourMooncup you seem very knowledgeable, so can you recommend some arch supports ?
Im getting pain in the arches when in the gym.

froufroulala · 19/07/2023 21:50

As a pp said I read a thread about it and ordered some. They arrived today and inspired I now have them on eek!

Im getting pain in the arches when in the gym.

These ones work well - they're often on special offer as well Valsole Orthotic Insole High Arch Foot Support Soft Medical Functional Insoles, Insert for Severe Flat Feet,Plantar Fasciitis,Feet Pain, Foot Valgus for Man and Woman (UK-7-26cm, Blue) : Amazon.co.uk: Fashion

Feel a bit weird when you first have them in, but you adapt very quickly - and if your foot rolls inwards, it makes you stand straighter and more more 'smoothly', so you're less likely to have ankle, knee, hip or lower back pain.

I get fancy-schmancy custom orthotics but they cost a shit ton and these are good enough for the additional pairs of shoes I don't wear often.

Oh, and there's a good chance that there's a removable insole already in your trainers - take that out first.

For heavy lifting, it's more ergonomic to have as flat/low a heel as possible so you're as near barefoot as possible, but for cardio, absolutely use the insoles.

I'm very much into ergonomics and function because I've got multiple things wrong with me (joints, connective tissue, etc) and the number 1 most helpful thing I've ever done is start using orthotics. And nobody wants plantar fasciitis. Trust me, I know.

PonyPatter44 · 19/07/2023 22:08

@NeverDropYourMooncup you are spot on, I think! My feet DO slide around in my shoes. How did you suss that?

I cant get these massive flaps of skin off my heels.

Oh op you didn’t let us down after that tease in S&B!
Fabulous work there.
I was super disappointed when I did it, hardly anything came off despite following it to the letter. Although I didn’t have much hard/dead skin to begin with I was still expecting something half as spectacular as your results. I’d be picking away like a bugger though, can’t trust myself with anything that can be picked.

NotBotheredAnymore · 19/07/2023 22:23

WTAF!!! I thought you were being a baby in your other thread but you weren't kidding 😱

fetchacloth · 19/07/2023 22:27

Wow just wow. I need to do this too 😁

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 19/07/2023 22:28

I used some after reading about them on here. They're amazing aren't they. I've had some much fun peeling the skin off. DH thinks I am a disgusting beast but DD said she's jealous 🤣

whatausername · 19/07/2023 22:33

I came from the other thread. Bless you for sharing this glorious event. I'm off to bed now for sweet peely dreams. Share an update so we can see the end result! Have fun, OP, and don't pick too much! It'll come off as and when it needs to.

minipie · 19/07/2023 22:39

Oh wow OP! Impressive! How are you resisting the urge to peel or at least snip the dangly bits off?

Mbop · 19/07/2023 22:42

@PonyPatter44 they are a thing of beauty, I'm off to order myself some now 🤣🤣

Meaty callous 🤢

Blossomtoes · 19/07/2023 22:47

Wow. That’s seriously impressive.

dontlookgottalook · 19/07/2023 23:02

Op can I ask did it make your feet swell up? You mentioned 'fat'. I have a footner but too scared to use it.
