Does the medication help with loosing the internal fat around your organs as well as the external fat ?

Hi @Fancyquickthinker Thanks for your question. We don't advise using doses outside the manufacturer’s recommended schedule.

These medications have only been tested and approved for use at specific doses, so using them differently could affect both safety and effectiveness. We’d always recommend sticking to licensed use and speaking with your provider if cost is a concern.

What can I do in advance to minimise the side effects (suphur burps, and stomach issues) ?

Hi @LittleDeeAndME Burping, including sulphur-like burps, and stomach issues can be common when starting treatment, but they often settle as your body adjusts.

To help minimise side effects, try eating and drinking more slowly to reduce swallowed air, avoid fizzy drinks, chewing gum and sweets, and consider taking gentle walks after meals to support digestion.

If symptoms persist or worsen, it’s a good idea to speak to your healthcare provider for personalised support.

I want to continue with my WLI's, but want to enjoy my holidays, being on 2.5 would it be ok to take 2 weeks off in the summer and continue once I return, I intend to eat well, and still exercise, but don't think I can keep my container cool enough for the 2 weeks I am away - any thoughts on this ?

Hi @itsywitsy Yes, it’s fine to take a short break from your injections. Enjoy your holiday!

Just be aware that you may notice a slight return of appetite, and that mild side effects may return when you restart as your body readjusts. It’s always best to let your healthcare provider know so they can advise you if any dose adjustments are needed when you resume. You can find additional information here.

WhichPage · 01/07/2025 12:23

Hi Given your specialisms I would be interested to know what holistic and behavioural care/support/treatment you recommend alongside medicated weight loss to optimise for the longest term benefit?

Hi @WhichPage Thanks so much for your thoughtful questions - they really get to the heart of what supports long-term weight loss success.

Alongside medication, we always recommend focusing on nutrition (particularly higher protein intake), regular movement, sleep, and stress management. These are the foundations for overall well-being. The most effective long-term results come from building consistent and sustainable habits. Medication is a tool in a weight loss journey and not the sole solution.

In terms of behaviours and characteristics that support success, patients who see the best outcomes tend to engage actively in their own care, whether that’s tracking their progress, planning meals, staying active, or seeking support when challenges arise. Having realistic expectations, being kind to yourself through the ups and downs, and staying consistent over time really matter.

On patient education, our focus is on empowerment. We give people clear and practical information needed to make informed decisions and feel confident in managing their health. That includes helping patients understand how these medications work, how to manage side effects, and how to adjust eating habits, movement, and mindset along the way. We aim to make this support available through treatment journey emails, our community forums, our dedicated GLP-1 hub, FAQs, and direct clinician guidance when needed. Healthcare should always be a partnership instead of a one-way conversation.

Will you ever make a jab that doesn’t make me puke over and over? I just had to stop taking the stuff I got from you guys as it made me so sick

Hi @simsbustinoutmimi We’re really sorry to hear you had such a tough experience. Unfortunately, side effects like nausea and vomiting can occur with this type of medication, as part of how it works is by slowing digestion, which can affect how your body tolerates food.

There are supportive strategies and treatments that can sometimes help manage these effects, including the type of food you're eating during treatment, so please do reach out to our team if you haven’t already. We work hard to support customers in managing side effects where possible. If you're no longer taking the medication, it's also worth discussing future options with your healthcare provider. There may be alternatives or adjustments that could work better for you.

Why do we have to shop around to get a decent price, with discount and codes. Surely if you want to keep loyal customers you don't only offer deals to new customers

CeriMumsnet · 11/08/2025 12:51

Thanks to everyone who shared a question for our MedExpress Drs, we do hope you found the answers helpful.

The winner of the prize draw is @LittleDeeAndME - congratulations!
