Hello. A while ago, all you lovely Mumsnetters gave us some brilliant tips for surviving winter colds and sniffles. Well, now we want to know which of those tips you think is the very best of all.

And, thanks to the very nice folk at Kleenex Anti-Viral Tissues, everyone who votes for their top tip will be in with the chance to win £500 of Center Parcs vouchers.

All you need to do is check out the tips and then click on the link at the bottom to come back to this thread and post the name of the Mumsnetter whose tip you liked best. (Some Mumsnetters have got more than one tip on the list, so if you're voting for one of them, please specify tip 1 or tip 2).

All votes must be posted on this thread by the closing date: midnight on Tuesday 24th February. Good luck!

I vote for Get the flu vaccine. It's not just for grannies you know. Carmenere.

SnowlightMcKenzie · 26/02/2009 19:22

Starlight McKenzie!

And yes it does work. It's an absolute lifesaver.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 26/02/2009 19:34

dzombie · 26/02/2009 19:56

Naat · 26/02/2009 20:07

I agree, definitely threelittlefrogs

Soop · 26/02/2009 20:29

3littlefrogs tip1 - after my kids were born and I found myself washing my hands endlessly (nappy changes, wiping up sick/snot etc, cleaning bottles, laundry) I stopped getting colds. Probably nature's way of making sure someone is available to clear up after the little ones.

harribelou · 26/02/2009 20:52

paperchase - love it! Or Zazen tip 1

Pacita · 26/02/2009 21:40

starlightmackenzie - only tip I had never heard before!

babydriver · 26/02/2009 22:00

starlightmackenzie - great tip - will certainly be trying that one!

Dawnybabe · 26/02/2009 22:06

Don't know if it is the most useful or not but it certainly made me laugh the most:

"Menthol crystals: put in bowl of hot water, stick a towel over your head and prepare for take off. It will blow your head off." TonyAlmeida

Love it!

FrannyandZooey · 26/02/2009 22:41

BeccaH · 26/02/2009 23:02

I vote for plantsitter, haven't tried it yet but think it sounds fabulous

LauraPearl · 26/02/2009 23:16

Nagapie. Anything involving chicken soup gets my vote!!

ameliaanne · 27/02/2009 07:35

My vote goes to Flossish - bring the duvet downstairs and snuggle up on the sofa with large glass of red wine and chocolate (better than any medicine!)Oh yes - and somehow get rid of the kids for the day!!

BirdyArms · 27/02/2009 09:39

Hassled

shoofly · 27/02/2009 09:59

Plantsitter - Freaks. them. Out. !

porcupine11 · 27/02/2009 10:49

Nagapie - the saline water really works, and not just for babies!!

jessddibs · 27/02/2009 11:08

My vote goes for paperchase. I always ask myself why should I play nurse to his man flu when nobody will even make me a cuppa when I am dying!? So I very often feel like shooting him when he can spend a whole day in bed with a cold and I can't!!!!

Twims · 27/02/2009 12:52

Plantsitter's

Go totally over the top with sympathy: cold compresses; special soft tissues; making sure they're warm enough at every opportunity; appearing to be genuinely worried and wondering aloud if you ought to call the doctors; stroking brow; asking in soothing tones 'How are you feeling now?' just slightly too often. Freaks. Them. Out. Never seen such a quick recovery.

Expatinscotland for me.
