Sleepeezee have recently released personalised dog beds, and to celebrate International Dog Day on the 26th August and dogs all year round, they’d like to hear about the ways your dogs have helped you and your family.

Here’s what Sleepeezee has to say: “British bed manufacturer Sleepeezee is proud to launch a collection of dog beds, in partnership with Battersea Dogs Home, which offer your companion a great sleep. Two distinct styles are available in a selection of sizes and colours, all of which can be personalised with your dogs name on.”

Perhaps the need to get out and walk your dog each day has helped you feel fitter and stronger? Or has the task of walking the dog helped your teenager gain some responsibility and independence they enjoy? Have you or your children learned any important lessons from your dog? Maybe being greeted by your dog’s smiling face and wagging tail at the end of a tough day helps you deal with stress?

However your dog has helped you and your family, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list) and a Sleepeezee dog bed.

Thanks and good luck!

We walk our dog together which gives valuable chatting time.

phillw · 13/09/2019 23:57

Our dog helps us to keep fit as she needs at least two long walks a day!

Our two dogs give us so much love! They are a constant source of affection and friendship to everyone in the family. They comfort us when we are in pain. If the children are ill, they snuggle up on their toes on the sofa and my eldest dog was by my side while I was in early and refused to leave the room even when the midwife came to check me!

Before we got our very first family dog, only around 18 months ago, we have been more active as a family and become closer. The dog's exercise initially was paramount but as the days and months have passed, we now realise much more that our own exercise is equally as important. Going on dog walks together as a family has always made us much closer as a family, rather than being in the house, maybe doing our own thing, we all spend around 2 hours each day chatting and having fun, whatever the weather.

I think they help in lots of ways - exercise, responsibility and stress relief.

My dog has helped my MH so much she is a constant companion during school hours. She’s comforted me when I’ve cried seen me through two pregnancy losses and my sons death. When we first brought DS back from hospital she used to cry when he cried. She recently had an infected ear that needed draining and I cried when they took her in and when they brought her back out Blush she’s as bombproof as a dog can be with kids, gentle with the toddler and basically just ace.

Dogs are brilliant we have 2 and they are the best. They are always there for you & love you no matter what mood you are in or what your day has been like. Reliable relationships are what we thrive on. My dogs mean the world to me. They help me mentally physically & emotionally

Our dog, is so loyal, trusting and kind. She’s put up excitable children, too much love from toddlers and sees herself as an aunt to the children in our family pack.

Love her.

queenoftheschoolrun · 21/11/2019 14:34

By being a loyal friend! We all need a bit of unconditional love in our lives.

SnowyMouse · 21/11/2019 20:10

We were burgled and it made my ASD child so anxious that he started to miss school. Then we got a dog, he came as a burglar alarm but stayed as everyone's best friend.
