Whether Christmas Eve in your household is the calm before the storm or the storm before the calm, it can be a great day to just spend some quality time with family and/or friends. Christmas Eve is celebrated in a whole host of different ways, with traditions varying from going for a long walk, to having chinese takeaway for dinner, to even guessing what the presents around the tree are. With that being said McDonalds would love to hear what you and your household gets up to on Christmas Eve.

Here’s what McDonald's has to say: "“We know it’s a hectic time of year for families, so if it’s a quick coffee when you’re out shopping or popping in on Christmas Eve for some free Reindeer Treat carrots, we are here to help you get #ReindeerReady on your way to Christmas 2018!”

Is Christmas Eve a time where you stay in your Xmas pj’s all day and watch films? Perhaps you like to go to you the pub with friends and family? What about going for a winter walk around your local park? Are you still prepping the presents and dinner for Christmas day? Do you and your family host an annual Christmas Eve party? Or maybe you have a traditional Christmas Eve breakfast, lunch and dinner that you look forward to all year round?

Whatever you and your family gets up to on Christmas Eve share it on the thread below and everyone who does will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

We go to carols in our local town square, then we go to Nanny and Granddad's to hang stockings and put out treats for Santa and the reindeer there before heading home to put out more treats at our house!

It's my birthday so I have an absolutely magnificent time. Christmas day is always an anticlimax through a hangover Grin

We snuggle up on the sofa with a cosy blanket , drink hot chocolate and watch Christmas films

I love Christmas Eve! We have a buffet style tea of crackers, cheeses, cold cuts, pickles etc., which means plenty of leftovers to nibble at over the Christmas period!

Last minute shopping, Christmas films on TV, preparing vegetables for the next day..
hopefully this year we’ll also fit in a nice walk around our new surroundings as we’ve just moved house. We haven’t discovered what’s around us properly yet!

Before bed I go upstairs waving some jinglebells to give the DC the idea that they should go to sleep! Then I go down again to nibble Rudolph's carrot and have Santa's mince pie and sherry.

My husband takes the kids to church (then complains about how utterly boring it is) while I do some wrapping and tidying before the big day.

When they get back we have a glass of something (adults only) and a Christmas film!

We meet up with friends at theirs for a 'bring a thing' buffet. There's always wine and port galore plus home made mince pies, a fantastic cheese board, salad nibbles and dips and I usually take my lentil curry balls for a spicy contrast. For me, it marks the proper beginning of Xmas.
