NOW CLOSED

Some of you may remember a few weeks ago Mumsnet users voted for The Celia Hammond Animal Trust to be in the final 3 of the Animal Friends £100k Charity Giveaway. Well the time has now come for you to vote in the final and help decide the charity to win the £100,000 donation from Animal Friends.

Please see the final 3 charities below:

Here’s what Animal Friends has to say: “Animal Friends Pet Insurance is a leading UK specialist pet insurance provider offering award-winning cover for dogs, cats and horses. Established in 1998, the company was founded to generate funds for animal charities around the world while providing pet owners with a top-quality pet insurance service. Between the charities they donate to and the pets they cover, Animal Friends Pet Insurance is dedicated to helping animals to thrive.”

UPDATE

We are pleased to announce that Street Vet has won the £100k charity giveaway! However Animal Friends are also going to be donating £25k EACH to both The Celia Hammond Trust and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust! Grin

I’m voting for the bees. Celia Hammond seems very London-centric. So tired of everything being London centric.

Fluffywuffyunicorn · 09/11/2018 12:17

Voted for the bees!
There should be more votes for the bees.

EllieMumsnet · 09/11/2018 12:20

Hi Everyone

Thank you all for voting so far Smile.

With regards to some of your comments around splitting the money 3 ways, Animal Friends would like to say this:

"Animals Friends have established relationships with all 3 of these amazing charities and we hope that by raising awareness of the wonderful work they do through this campaign we can help them all in attracting increased donations and acknowledgement of the work they do. We also aim to continue working with all 3 in the future after this campaign has ended"

Thanks

I voted for bees 🐝

It is the mist important of the three charities, think.

Polkasq · 09/11/2018 12:26

Is the white on the bee jar the level of support, or the table seen through the empty jar? 🐝

voyager50 · 09/11/2018 13:07

I would like the money split but as I love bees and we would have very little food without them they get my vote!

Ratbagcatbag · 09/11/2018 18:08

Bumblebees voted for over here. I hope they catch up, but streetvet is miles in front.

Devillanelle · 09/11/2018 18:44

I voted bees! Poor bees

VintageMum11 · 09/11/2018 20:26

Gosh it's a tough choice.. all three worthy charities. I guess a huge amount of £100k to a smaller organisation would be more beneficial. I'm going to give the underdogs a chance!

CathyDee · 09/11/2018 22:37

Street Vet gets my vote They are helping animals and their owners across the UK Amazing bunch of people They deserve to win

Norugratsatall · 10/11/2018 10:02

I voted for the bees! All seem worthy contenders though.

dannydog1 · 11/11/2018 13:55

Street Vet please—
Having a vet as a daughter who sees these things first hand.

Being an animal lover myself I totally understand the emotional support having a pet can give, whatever your circumstances.

LanaorAna2 · 11/11/2018 17:14

Celia Hammond OF COURSE. TCN from Celia has given more free vet advice on here for years than any MNetter has had hot dinners. You know what to do.

MrsGollach · 12/11/2018 10:22

I'm voting for the bees. They are doing work in several areas of the UK so it seems more national than the other two charities.

MrsGollach · 12/11/2018 10:24

Streetvet are way in the lead

Harebellmeadow · 12/11/2018 11:48

Street Vet, because Winter is coming and Christmas will be very cold if you cant access a shelter because if your sick and dying dog.
All three are very worthy so it is difficult to choose.

Harebellmeadow · 12/11/2018 11:48

*because you dont want to leave your sick and dying dog.

Coronapop · 12/11/2018 15:37

Streetvet is not a registered charity. I have had this confirmed in writing by Animal Health. Personally I think it is wrong of the company to imply that it is in their promotion.

Wolfiefan · 12/11/2018 15:45

How can they include an unregistered charity? Shock

EllieMumsnet · 12/11/2018 17:17

Hi @Coronapop @Wolfiefan

Thank you for your comments, Animal Friends would like to say this in response:

"This campaign is an opportunity for us to showcase our passion for animal welfare, whilst also driving awareness and support of the nominated animal welfare organisations. Street Vet were nominated by Vet Times, a media partner of ours for this campaign. A short while after the nomination process, we were made aware that Street Vet is not a registered charity but a non-profit organisation.

However their charitable registration application is in process and we are in close contact with them to follow this through as soon as possible. This has meant we have been able to launch the campaign without delay, allowing as much time as possible over the next few weeks to maximise awareness of all three nominated causes. If Street Vet should win then, once they have attained registration, they can access the donation"

Many Thanks
Ellie - MNHQ

So they might win and get nothing? Yet again Animal Friends promises one thing and doesn’t deliver a bean. Shock

Srathore · 13/11/2018 12:00

Celia Hammond please. It’s all about the bees 🐝

musthavejumpers · 13/11/2018 18:56

Bees all the way for me too Smile

jamej2 · 13/11/2018 19:46
