For many people the changing of seasons from summer to winter can be a great excuse for a little wardrobe revamp...bring on the cosy clothes! Lighthouse Clothing would love you to share your favourite pieces from their site, as well as telling us a special memory you have of the outdoors.

Here’s what Lighthouse Clothing has to say: “Lighthouse Clothing is a purpose led brand, committed to creating well crafted clothing with a strong sense of style. Our coastal leisurewear collections give a strong nod to the nautical, as we celebrate our love for the coast and simple island living.

^Based in Belfast and born from the philosophy that the most memorable moments in life are often the simplest ones. We encourage the wanderer and sea lover in us all to step outside and embrace those unhurried moments, shared with those who matter.
Our design team research everything from new materials to trending styles. New fabrics are tested and developed to improve style and function. Each design is refined, each colour palette is considered and in the end when each garment has been perfected, it is added to our collection.”^

Which items do you love the look of and why? Take a look at their website and post the link of your favourites on the thread below.

We would also love you to share a special memory and/or moment you experienced in the outdoors. Did you have a special first date strolling along the beach? Perhaps you and your family had a great day out exploring the outdoors? Or maybe it’s simply that you have great memories of going for a walk on your own to help you relax?

Whichever your favourite items are, post them on the thread below and tell us a special outdoor memory and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where two MNers will win a £150 Lighthouse voucher and one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Love the colour and looks perfect for Autumn doggy walks!

My outdoor memory:

On the last day of a break in the Cotswolds with my then boyfriend and friends, we travelled for the longest time to get to Lantic Bay. Sat near the edge and looking down at the beach I noticed he was looking particularly clammy, shaky and unwell. Our friends had vanished when he asked me to stand up. I thought he had vertigo so tried to get him to sit down and have some lucozade but he kept insisting I get up. Eventually I stand up too thinking I'd better get him back to the car (and where is everyone??) at which point he starts to drop to the ground - I grab him thinking he's fainting and we both fall to the ground and start rolling perilously close to the cliff edge as he shouts out 'Will you marry me?' I just about got out my reply before being rugby tackled to the ground by my best friend who had actually been hiding in a nearby bush watching (to the confusion of everyone walking past her!). Honestly such a wonderful memory in such a beautiful setting :)

I like this jumper. Would look lovely with jeans.

NerrSnerr · 26/09/2018 10:27

I forgot my memory! My favourite memories of the outdoors are from cross country running as a child. I loved the mud and wrapping up warm after racing, drinking tea.

I love the Anna dress
www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/anna-cotton-dress-washed-denim
It would layer really well

We have so many happy outdoor moments, we love walking on the beach in winter most of all.

I like the above parka. It's versatile, warm, smart and trendy. It also looks well made, so would likely last years.

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/boys-coats-jackets/products/harris-waterproof-breathable-warm-boys-parka-navy

I like the above for same reasons for boys.

My favourite memories from trips outdoors have always been the trips to the beach. Collecting sea shells and sea glass while my partner takes photos and my son wades in the waves. Crisps and sandwiches picnics. Even the rainy days were good with the correct clothing, and those had the advantage of a near empty beach all to ourselves!

DS would like this rocket tee www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/boys-tops-rugby-shirts/products/oliver-cotton-long-sleeve-top-rocket

DH and I met as students at a BBQ in the park. 15 years on I still remember the chill of the April evening and the warmth of the fire...

Popcornandbuttons · 26/09/2018 21:31

This is my favourite: www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-raincoats-jackets/products/outback-full-length-waterproof-raincoat-deep-sea
I love the style and the fabric - so sleek but still country styled.

I spend loads of time outdoors with my children in all weathers! They absolutely loved the snow over the winter and building proper big sized snowmen that stayed on the garden for a few days before melting - and sinking knee deep into snow. And my then 1 year old losing her shoes in the snow!

Love this denim dress. Also the kids clothes are very reasonable but look more expensive than that. Dd2 who is 5 will love wearing this with bright patterned tights and boots.

My favourite outdoor memory this year has been blackberry picking down the van in Cornwall. We do it on a deserted bridleway. It takes an hour to walk a few metres because the girls are stuffing themselves with blackberries. The dog dashes up and down trying to herd the kids and gets covered in goose gogs. The girls filled two big tubs and we made two enormous crumbles. They get excited about the blackberries every year. Makes me feel happy that they are having such a good childhood when they get so much enjoyment out of such a simple activity that costs nothing.

Bacere · 26/09/2018 22:53

I like this www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/products/iona-warm-padded-waterproof-coat-midnight the colour, pockets, length and being waterproof means that whem it gets colder being described as roomy I should be able to wear more or less clothing underneath as the weather demands.

The jacket has actually made me recall lovely memories of the school run. The time we shared walking to and from school chatting and often playing along the way are a very special memory especially now that they no longer need mum for them!

daisyduke66 · 26/09/2018 23:01

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/outback-full-length-waterproof-raincoat-urban-grey - as it's a classic waterproof that will never date. Favourite outdoorsy memory has to be the very first camping expedition when all the children were old enough to properly enjoy and muck in together - whatever the weather!

elotrolado · 26/09/2018 23:33

I’ve been hankering after the Iona for ages!

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/products/iona-warm-padded-waterproof-coat-jazzberry

Living in Cornwall, this would be perfect for winter beach walks with the family. I’ve always lived by the sea due to my dad’s former job as a coastguard, so my outdoor memories are all about blustery beach walks with flasks of tea, building fires and dodging waves. Can’t imagine ever living more than a few miles from the sea.

Love the length of this coat especially for dog walking.
Favourite memory is of playing in the huge sand dunes in Formby Lancashire

mitalmanda · 27/09/2018 18:33

Love the Harper Coat in grey with matching Tyrella Sweatshirt in harbour mist www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-clothing/products/harper-waterproof-fleece-lined-coat-urban-grey . Perfect for outdoors time Autumn/Winter. I tend to treat my daughter not myself, and would be handy whilst my daughter's playing football since she joined and it's chilly this season. My favourite memory is from shortly after us both leaving the family home, stressful times and still is so, but we had a mini break away during October and fond memories fossil hunting in Yorkshire along the coast in our wellies, sun shining but too chilly for barefoot, bucket in hand.

Favourite outdoor memory- falling down a "mountain" in the lake District as a child, super exciting.

malisa · 27/09/2018 19:51

This Harper Coat would be perfect for the cold days. I like it because is waterproof and fleece lined. Wearing this one I would be warm as the toast and lovely dry too. We love going out to the local park during autumn and winter and watch how gentle wind sweeps leaves under our feet.
My favourite memory is of our winter walk on Christmas Day. It great to feel fresh and frosty air and have a snowball fight. www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/harper-waterproof-fleece-lined-coat-urban-grey

I love this raincoat www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-clothing/products/outback-full-length-waterproof-raincoat-urban-grey
I kind of designed this in my head when it was pouring last week! It’s long, has a hood and has a shape and looks quite warm too. Am tempted!!

I have often been caught in the rain on the beach during one of our many holidays in Cornwall. Anyway, one time we were on a small cove near pendeen lighthouse Grin and dh loaded up with picnic, towels etc and I was holding hands with the kids. I looped our dog’s lead through dh’s belt loops thinking I was being clever but seconds later she caught sight of something and ran, tearing dh’s shorts straight off leaving him standing in his boxers holding about 20 bags not quite sure what to do next!

SouthWestmom · 27/09/2018 22:08

Well I was quite interested as there was a small range that all seemed to be the same aim - warm and functional. I'd love more shops to have smaller collections rather than trying to meet all styles, sizes and activities.

Like this shirt

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-shirts/products/ocean-button-up-shirt-washed-denim

I'd wear it with black 3/4 trousers.

Outdoors - probably sledging with the boys. The sheer joy of careering down a hill slightly out of control is hard to beat.

Hopezibah · 27/09/2018 22:11

love the amelia raindrop print coat for my daughter - perfect for autumn www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/amelia-waterproof-fleece-lined-coat-raindrop-print

My special memory is an autumn outing for my birthday to sissinghurst national trust - the gardens were full of splendid autumn colour, the sun shone beautifully and i had such a relaxing special day - i felt like i'd had a holiday!

henhausfrau · 27/09/2018 23:30

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/anna-cotton-dress-washed-denim

This is my favourite item. Casual and flattering with great length sleeves.

So many outdoor memories but one of my favourites is arriving at a beach in mid-winter a few years ago. Blowing a gale, freezing, wind whipping up the waves, and DD2, then around 18 months, immediately plonked herself on the sand and started removing her boots for a paddle Smile

AwkwardPaws27 · 28/09/2018 09:41

I love the Causeway Breton tops - especially the plum and the sunshine midnight stripe:
www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/products/causeway-long-sleeve-breton-top-plum-stripe

I'm challenging myself to wear more colour, and these would look great with skinny jeans and ankle boots as a simple but stylish day to day outfit.

My favourite beach memory is when my uncle took my cousin and I on a late night walk on Polzeath beach, when I was 10. He showed us the major constellations and we sat on a rock listening to the waves roll in. My uncle passed away a few years ago but I will always remember that October evening in Cornwall.

Love love love the Harper coat
www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/harper-waterproof-fleece-lined-coat-urban-grey

As we live in Devon my 4 year old son and I are lucky enough to spend lots of time outdoors, hunting for pine cones in forests and splashing through the mud.
My favourite memories though are of wintry days at the beach, when we have it all to ourselves for hours of exploring. He thinks it's the best playground and it's all his!

Notsohorriblehistory · 28/09/2018 13:38

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/emmie-cotton-jersey-top-raindrop

Favourite memory.
Receiving letter confirming divorce had been finalised.
I grabbed my coat without thinking and set off. I walked and walked. Aimlessly. It was, windy and drizzley. Hardly anyone was around. I had never felt so alive and happy.

I love this. The colour is gorgeous.
I live right in the middle of beautiful exmoor & 5 minutes from the beach. I love being outside wether it's walking & exploring our woods or playing on the beach with the kids.
