For many people the changing of seasons from summer to winter can be a great excuse for a little wardrobe revamp...bring on the cosy clothes! Lighthouse Clothing would love you to share your favourite pieces from their site, as well as telling us a special memory you have of the outdoors.

Here’s what Lighthouse Clothing has to say: “Lighthouse Clothing is a purpose led brand, committed to creating well crafted clothing with a strong sense of style. Our coastal leisurewear collections give a strong nod to the nautical, as we celebrate our love for the coast and simple island living.

^Based in Belfast and born from the philosophy that the most memorable moments in life are often the simplest ones. We encourage the wanderer and sea lover in us all to step outside and embrace those unhurried moments, shared with those who matter.
Our design team research everything from new materials to trending styles. New fabrics are tested and developed to improve style and function. Each design is refined, each colour palette is considered and in the end when each garment has been perfected, it is added to our collection.”^

Which items do you love the look of and why? Take a look at their website and post the link of your favourites on the thread below.

We would also love you to share a special memory and/or moment you experienced in the outdoors. Did you have a special first date strolling along the beach? Perhaps you and your family had a great day out exploring the outdoors? Or maybe it’s simply that you have great memories of going for a walk on your own to help you relax?

Whichever your favourite items are, post them on the thread below and tell us a special outdoor memory and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where two MNers will win a £150 Lighthouse voucher and one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I love this sweatshirt, purple is my favourite colour, I like the contrasting pink at the neck too:

We took our dc to the Lake District for the first time last autumn and one of my favourite memories is of us gazing at the stars sitting next to Lake Windermere one evening. We live in a city so usually wouldn’t have a chance to see the night sky like that - it was amazing.

Flapdoodles · 18/09/2018 23:14

I love this coat, it would be perfect for when I am walking the dog, family days out or watching my son my football.

My favourite outdoor memory is walking along the beach last Autumn with my husband, DD and DS and our dog. It was a cold day but we were all wrapped up warm. There was hardly anyone around, we virtually had the beach to ourselves and I just felt really content. We then went back to the house and had a lovely hot chocolate and biscuits then snoozed in front of the fire.

slithytove · 18/09/2018 23:39

I love this and so would my 4 year old

Best outdoor memory - first festival and first camping trip with the kids - it was brilliant and we’ve bought our own tent off the back of it

sorry-too quick off the mark-posting that! my fave outdoor memory is when my ds2 was around 18mths old,we arrived at the beach just after tide started to go out..we walked along the edge sort of before pavement starts picking up shells etc.as i bent down to lift one,he broke free and pretty much launched him self towards the soft squish minging sand..he was over the wellies deep in no time,as i caught up he let out a hoot and tore off-which he achieved by stepping right out his caked in muck boots-he fell..his joggies sunk down his wee legs and tripped him and he rolled around giggiling.i was crying with laughter which got worse as i stopped to take photos.when i caught him he was just eyes and teeth.i was covered in grot too-and as trailed back to car we were met with horrified looks from a "ladies day"coach tour.

Defintely this coat. It looks smart alonf with warm and waterproof. Love
The grey colour.

Over the summer we went to some local hills. Husband had dd2 in a back carrier and dd1 was just walking with us. We surprised her with a purple ocotopus kite and she really enjoyed seeing it flying. It was wsrm and sunny and just a really pleasant afternoon.

I love lighthouse! I have a Paige parka in seagrass that i bought for dog walks on the beach and I love it! It has actually just returned from a work trip overseas with me. It’s practical yet fun however if I was to choose a new favourite it would be the outrider www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-raincoats-jackets/products/outrider-waterproof-mid-length-raincoat-urban-grey
Great colour and super-smart for my work trips yet still very practical

My favourite outdoor memory is probably camping on the beach at Seilebost, Isle of Harris after cycling all the way there! Truly stunning. Or anytime I’m On the beach with my dogs - it’s their favourite place and their joy is contagious!

AugustRose · 19/09/2018 09:24

Well it has to be these really

www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/hannah-beanie-bobble-hat-plum-jazzberry

Because I am big on hats, I buy far too many and make my own for me and the DC - I really need to sort through our hat box before winter (and buying more Grin)

My favourite outdoor memory is seeing red deer (my spirit animal!) in the wild for the first time when we spent a freezing November week in Braemar 20 years ago. We had heard them the night before as we arrived at our cottage but seeing them in the frost covered forest and breathing in the cleanest air was spectacular.

Bez33 · 19/09/2018 09:37

I like this - love the collar and looks so warm inside. www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-raincoats-jackets/products/harper-waterproof-fleece-lined-coat-urban-grey

Really liking the kids stuff too, could see my little one in this - www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/boys-coats-jackets/products/lucas-fleece-lined-waterproof-coat-pea-green

My favourite outdoor memory would be climbing the great orme with my now husband over 10 years ago, and watching the boats below. One of the pictures we took is still hanging up in our house, after 2 moves.

This is gorgeous, looks like it would be super flattering too.

A recent memory of being in the outdoors was in the summer when we managed to drag 17 yo DS and his girlfriend out for a walk in the beautiful Stretton hills. They both had huge smiles on their faces as they walked with us, I think they’d forgotten what the countryside looked like Grin

This is gorgeous, my little girl would love this. It would be perfect for cool, crisp Autumnal days.

My favourite ‘outdoorsy’ memory would be the cool, windy days spent walking along the beach, listening to the waves crashing. My children love spending their time outside whatever the weather.

I love this as the colour is unusual and hard to find.

Favourite memory from the outdoors is family walks in the snow in the Peak District.

AliciaMayEmory · 19/09/2018 12:44

I've been looking for my DH as he never buys himself anything new. I'm on the app so I can't do links, so I have posted photos. Hope that's OK.

The jacket is lovely and he would love it for weekends, the long sleeve polo is really versatile and smart, and the zip-up hoodie would replace one that is 14 years old that he still wears! ☺

There is some lovely stuff on the website and great prices.

Poops posted too soon! My favourite memory of the outdoors is when DH and I went to Westonbirt arboretum on a night walk one Christmas. It was so festive, but what I really remember are the smells in the air of the trees and woodland, and also the snap of the twigs and crunch of leaves underfoot.

ailsasheldon · 19/09/2018 15:47

I like this top for my husband as he is such a scruff bag and his current ten year old one is threadbare www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/mens-sweatshirts-jumpers/products/seafarer-half-zip-cotton-sweater-navy-solid
Favourite outdoor memory, husband falling in a bog in the Lake District

This is lovely! It would be perfect for my Scotland retreat! That's my favourite outdoor place. Happy memories of fires on the beach with family and friends.

I like this coat. Difficult to choose my favourite outdoor moment, maybe when DH proposed when walking in Italy.

Whenisitover · 20/09/2018 04:36

I like this striped polo neck - would be a great layering top under lots of the summer dresses and tops I have to extend into Autumn

My favourite outdoor memories are walking on the moors up behind our house with our boys. The weather can change in minutes making a grey day into glorious sunshine or a bright day into a downpour which has us running for shelter!

LaLaLolly · 20/09/2018 08:08

I love this jacket: www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/new-in/products/florence-waterproof-breathable-warm-mid-thigh-parka-grey
It looks cosy, but has a nice cut/line and wouldn't make me feel like the Michelin Man!

I have to say I didn't know this brand, but loving all the waterproof offerings and the children's range.

My favourite outdoor memories are the long beachy summers in my homeland and the autumn walks with my children in Scotland (where we live now).

Love this dress for work or casual around the house. It has both Puckett's and sleeves: the dream!

My favourite outdoor memory is walking through the heather on the Yorkshire Moors after my friend's hen party, lovely to be outside in fresh air and beautiful surroundings and have some time away from busy everyday life to catch up with wonderful people

fanomoninon · 20/09/2018 08:34

Another one who loves the Raven coat - probably in plum as a bit different, and lovely 'warm' feeling colour - so much more flattering that the ubiquitous blacks and navy for decent outdoor wear: www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-raincoats-jackets/products/raven-warm-fleece-lined-waterproof-coat-plum

Favourite outdoor memory: so tough to pick one, as I think MOST of my favourite memories are outdoors - mostly by the sea, although moors and mountains get a look in! A couple:

  • A glorious spring day on our favourite (quiet) beach in South Cornwall with the family - one of those relaxed days where everything goes right: a long walk along the sand, a quick swim, some beach combing, making a huge sand-mermaid together, then a beach BBQ. We all smiled all day :-)
  • Walking on a totally isolated beach in Scotland late on a long summer's evening - cool but clear - and having a pine martin pop up in front of me. I sat down and watched him (whilst he kept a good eye on me...) whilst he went about his business and just felt totally at home!
  • A Christmas eve walk on the moors - all wrapped up and wearing our Christmas hats! Just as we got to the top of a tour there was a sudden snow flurry, and we (me, dh and our two who would have been about 8 & 10) ran about like loons in the snow, then sheltered in a gap behind a rock for hot chocolate. Best Christmas eve feeling - so much more special than spending an hour peeling spuds!!

Ooh I can't decide between www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-raincoats-jackets/products/raven-warm-fleece-lined-waterproof-coat-plum and www.lighthouseclothing.co.uk/collections/womens-raincoats-jackets/products/iona-warm-padded-waterproof-coat-midnight !

Favourite outdoor memories... taking the little boy out to the Scottish islands once we'd moved back from life abroad in a hot climate, and seeing him enjoy the fresh air, rain and beach life!
