A big part of being a parent is being flexible and spinning several plates at the same time... there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do every task individually! Have you always been someone who can juggle multiple things at once or has parenting taught you the art of being flexible, Intel® would love to hear your best multi-tasking moments, as well as any tips and tricks for managing modern family life.

Here’s what Intel® have to say: “A thin and light Modern PC with an Intel® processor has great features that make it more flexible to use, so you can be more creative, productive and entertained. Cortana lets you use your voice instead of the keyboard and Windows Hello* lets you log in with your face not a password – perfect for when you already have your hands full with the children.”

Did you manage to book a holiday while you fed and bathed your children? Perhaps you helped one child with homework while breastfeeding your baby, being on Skype to your mum and eating your dinner all at the same time?

Whatever your tips or your best multi-tasking moment, share it on the thread below to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher from Argos.

Thanks and good luck!

Do an online shop which can be changed as many times as needed a day in advance

EmilyK83 · 11/06/2018 11:05

I'm a freelance writer...and I've quickly learned how to feed the baby with one hand and type with the other - and how to clean the flat in stealth mode so I can do it while he's napping!

another multi tasker here - i hate wasted time and for years now when someone rings for a chat i am also dusting, cleaning out kitchen cupboards and cleaning the insides of the windows at the same time - I want a headset for the phone so i can have two hands free instead of one! Once my mother rang and as its free for an hour she put phone down and rang again, and again - my house was never so clean!

bullet journal diary keeps me sane and helps me manage working, 2 kids at different schools with different hobbies and studying a degree level qualification. the diary keeps my to do lists, shopping lists, appointments, birthdays, events etc etc all in one place.

If I ever lost it life would be over in our house...

andywedge · 11/06/2018 11:54

I luckily work from home, so even though I'm working my kids can pop in and bother me

gd2011 · 11/06/2018 12:06

Make a list

iut044 · 11/06/2018 12:12

With planning and working together as a team .

Kellylee1988 · 11/06/2018 12:14

With a lot of help from my husband, I won't pretend to be be an independent woman 😂 it all would fall apart if I had to do it on my own, team work over here

My family planner is always kept up to date with my weekly work pattern, along with my husbands, so we can juggle the school run, when I am on early shift I make the packed lunches along with mine the night before. Each out of school club is marked, along with who is picking up - we set up alerts on our phones to remind us who is on the rota for picking up. When there is an out of school club - then that is my batch cooking/ironing/shopping time. Communication and planning is everything.

Using a family planner, with 5 of us in the house it’s been a game changer and I feel that little bit more on top of things!!

tallandlong · 11/06/2018 12:50

online shopping with an app on my phone while on the toilet, its the only moment i get a tiny bit peace

tabbaz123 · 11/06/2018 13:07

Do you know what - your article really made me think for a moment, whilst loading the washing machine and setting the timer for middle of the night to save electricity! I then phoned my elderly parents to schedule in their shopping trip whilst feeding Lucas and asking Alexa to set a timer for the gammon joint....ha ha - so I haven't any constructive tips other than use all the gadgets you have at your disposal, embrace time saving technology and remain flexible - all my balls are in the air lol

I just try and make the most of any spare time I get. When my daughter is having her breakfast I’m sweeping the floor, when she’s playing happily for 5 mins I’m tidying up. Just grab any spare chance you get

glennamy · 11/06/2018 13:33

We are forever running about but we try to ensure we always eat together where possible. I do some of my food shopping online so that helps a bit.

sm2012 · 11/06/2018 13:48

Lots of to do lists helps as well as a well organised calendar. I pay for clubs/trips etc as soon as the letter comes home then it's done and I don't have to think about it again. Same for forms!

howling · 11/06/2018 13:49

i usually cook dinner and help the children with their homework and also pack the lunches for the next day

Minnibix · 11/06/2018 13:57

I try to keep on top of things by using my phone as a calendar and diary, also lots of lists and post it notes and I get the kids to take responsibility for their rooms, sometimes a little bit of bribery helps here :D Also if it needs washing it must be in the laundry basket, the floor does not count. If its in the basket it gets washed, Simples

I chose to work for a company that allows me to work from home flexibly! This frees up so much of my time.

Helsbells68 · 11/06/2018 14:23

Prioritise, a speck of dust or wrinkled sheets is not the end of the world

juju3 · 11/06/2018 14:25

organisation and planning plus a network of friends and more importantly family

Marg2k8 · 11/06/2018 15:07

Don't sweat the small stuff. Whilst your children are small, it doesn't matter if the dusting gets left for a week.

feefeegabor · 11/06/2018 15:26

I am very lucky in that I work from home. That isn't always good as I have to sometimes work weekends and evenings but it does mean that I've always been able to pick up the kids from school, take them to their various after-school activities and have their friends over for tea. Multi-tasking comes in handy!

frances93 · 11/06/2018 15:28

With 3 dogs a cat a baby and a husband to sort out everyday life is hectic at the best of times, I just wing it and hope for the best!
I work from home so its a normal every day occurance to be answering the phone to customers while feeding/changing the baby or making dinner.

compy99 · 11/06/2018 16:04

we stick to routines, very dull but the only way we manage to cope with everything.
