With the responsibility of having a little person to clean, dress, feed and keep happy, getting out of the house with a new baby can prove an unexpected challenge. ASDA would love you to share your top tips for leaving the house with a new baby.

Here is what ASDA has to say: “There’s nothing worse than being caught short when you’re out and about, so we’d love to hear your stories about what being ‘fully prepared’ on the go means for you and your little angel!”

Did packing a bag the night before help you to get out and about without a hitch? Maybe eating breakfast on the go was the only way you were able to eat breakfast at all. Do you recommend recruiting your nearest and dearest to lend a hand on those first tricky trips? Or, perhaps, you finally realised that swapping the over-packed pram for a sling was the answer.

Whatever your top tips for leaving the house with a baby may be, please share them below and you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Use a backpack, it's much better, and check before going bed that it has everything in it so there's no trusting around finding what is needed when needing to leave the house. Spare nappies, wipes, baby grow, muslim, and a clean top for me in case. Once getting home from being out restock then it makes things easier.

Always take extra nappies that what you might think you need

Practice opening and closing your pram before you head out. This will definitely make you feel more in control. Be sure to have your nappy bag prepped and ready to go. So much can go wrong with a newborn and they really can be very unpredictable. Ensure you pack spare clothes, nappies, wipes, bottles – the list goes on!

Prepare everything the night before, all you need is a bag with a few nappies, wipes, a change of clothes and a muslin (also bottle and food if your not breastfeeding. Try to time going out to just after a feed and nappy change that way you'll hopefully get a few hours to get where you need to be and do a few things before you need to feed and change again

Pack enough supplies (bottle, nappies, change of clothes etc) and go somewhere fun.
