A big part of being a child is all about being adventurous, whether that means your DC has tried to wander around in your size 8 heels for a good hour before realising they don’t fit quite right or even potter in with muddy shoes from playing outside all day. With Peter Rabbit coming to cinemas March 16, we’ve teamed up with Sony Pictures to hear about the funny, mischievous things either you or your DC has done when you/they were little.

“In Peter Rabbit™, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers now takes on the starring role of his own contemporary comedy. In the film, Peter’s feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as their fight to gain control of McGregor’s coveted vegetable garden and the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne) extends to the Lake District and London. James Corden voices the character of Peter with playful spirit and wild charm, with Margot Robbie, Elizabeth Debicki, and Daisy Ridley performing the voice roles of the triplets, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail.”

Watch the Peter Rabbit trailer here:

Did your DC decide to have a go at cutting their own hair? Maybe you got caught giving your toys a wash in the toilet? Perhaps you’re always trying to find the TV remote that keeps going missing and turning up in strange places such as the fridge? Or did you ever rummage through your mum’s makeup bag and use every product on your face?

Whatever your humorous, mischievous stories are, share them with us on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £300 voucher of your choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

when my DC's came downstairs after playing together in a pair of tights and a bikini. I remember the tea being spat across the room to this day ! #hysterics

Strigiformes · 05/03/2018 12:48

I used to try and put nappies on the family cat. The cat wasn't keen unfortunately.

TheKnackeredChef · 05/03/2018 15:12

I used to torment my little brother. Rice Krispies in his shoes, soap on his toothbrush, you name it. I was awful to him.

eteo · 05/03/2018 17:26

Had an argument with school bus driver and went to kick his tyre. I was just 10! Oops! Should have kick the man instead! Lol.

My youngest thinks she looks amazing when she’s wearing her biggest, puffiest princess dress with her wellies! We think she looks hilarious Grin

On Shrove Tuesday I made pancakes for tea. Dd6 had asked for chocolate ice-cream and chocolate syrup on hers. Ds2 had the same but wasn't really interested in the pancakes, he just had his ice-cream and left the table.
DD was enjoying another pancake when we realised the chocolate syrup was missing and so was ds. We found him behind the sofa squeezing syrup into his mouth!

When my DS was little my DH was doing some plumbing work in the bathroom. He'd removed the sink from the pipework to fix a leak. The little man decided to 'help' Daddy and toddled into the bathroom - picked the screwdriver up and posted it straight down the long pipe. It got jammed right at the bottom on the u-bend... Honestly, my DH had steam coming out of his ears and I had to remove DS for his own safety.

Years later my DH was winding my daughter up one morning and threatened to pinch her teddy and flush it down the loo. She disappeared with his slippers - put them in the toilet and flushed!

Nothing compared to so of the other posters but DS used to like sitting in the kitchen cupboards. He would frequently empty the saucepans and the 'Tupperware' out (the only ones without locks) and then happily sit in there playing. He had the run of the house but just liked sitting in the cupboard!

DonaldWeasley · 05/03/2018 21:15

My son used to be obsessed with keys and always put them in his little push along car thing. Whenever we lost them we’d check under the seat first!

ApocalypseNowt · 05/03/2018 21:25

DD2 is a complete magpie. Our tv remotes (amongst other things) kept going missing and I had to keep buying replacements.

When we were moving house I found a loose board in the kitchen cabinets. In it was a stash of tv remotes, pens, hair bands, keys (unidentified) and money Shock

DD decided her toy rabbit needed her fur drying with the hairdryer. Unfortunately she held the hairdryer right next to her fur for a bit too long, there was an interesting smell and poor rabbit is still living with the scars...

My mum had nipped into the house while we were playing in the back garden. I was 5 and my sister was 3. We discovered a “just big enough to crawl through” hole in the hedge. Two of our friends lived next door. We crept through and into their house and found them in their bedroom and were playing happily together. Meanwhile my poor mum was beside herself with terror!

KittyKat88 · 05/03/2018 22:42

Simple but effective, my DD (aged 5) loves to jump out at me shouting "boo" at any opportunity! She's a bit like Kato from the Pink Panther movies! When she achieves a really good scare, she runs of cackling! The little terror Grin

When me an and my sister decided to paint our nails, we were 6 or 7 at the time, then we went on to paint the nails of the dog (black Labrador) and the pet tortoise. Oh how my dad felt walking the dog with pink nails !

Cambam2010 · 06/03/2018 12:48

When I was small I used to try to make my own perfume by crushing flowers in water. This was all harmless fun until I emptied my mums Chanel bottle of its orignal contents so that she could have a bottle of the scent I had made.

rachaelsit · 06/03/2018 21:05

I am the eldest of 4 kids and we all once tried to coax a probably petrified red squirrel out of a tree with a battenburg cake!!! I know, as Bonkers as it sounds, but something I’ll never forget

theAntsareMyFriends · 06/03/2018 21:29

DS2 is a cupboard emptier. When he's busted he gives the cheeriest smile that I can never be cross.

DS1 has an answer for anything. At 3 he claimed he spoke another language to get out of writing his name. The other day he filled his dad's cup with snow and only revealed what he had done after DP had drunk from it.

Kcowen · 07/03/2018 08:11

My daughter often sat on her potty to watch tv. One day she was very proud to show us her first poo in the potty, that she came running into the kitchen having scooped out the poop and showed us it in her hands! 🤲🏼 💩🤢

KarlaD22 · 07/03/2018 14:54

When I was little I used to empty my toy cupboard in the frontroom and climb in and shut the door and shout "I'm hiding!". I never knew how my Mum, Dad or Grandad found me and thought they were magic. Obviously it was because the toys were all over the floor

tangledyarn · 07/03/2018 15:37

I used to pretend there were mice running across the classroom floor. Bizarrely the teacher always believed me and thought our classroom was infested.Poor woman I think she was a newly qualified teacher. I feel bad about it now!

lovemyflipflops · 07/03/2018 16:32

After painting my dining room walls with a fresh coat of paint, I was sat having 5 minutes when I realised ......its quiet.....what are they up to...... my pot of paint had disappeared and so had my 2 horrors - they were redecorating their wooden playhouse, dipping my washing up sponges into the paint and daubing it all over the walls, their clothes, hair and new shoes - I did not know where to start ! good job it was emulsion.

ScreamingValenta · 07/03/2018 20:54

We used to eat boiled eggs for breakfast on a Sunday. I was downstairs before my dad and finished my egg - then swapped his for my empty shell, turned upside down.

coffeecup16 · 07/03/2018 22:33

I got my head stuck in a gate when i was7. We were trespassing in a school playground and i was running away from my brothers. I was there for 2 hours and until the fireman cut me out. I rem lots of people giving me sweets and things to keep me happy

Marie1276 · 08/03/2018 00:13

My youngest DD found this little pair of scissors from her eldest sister's pencil case when she was just 2 years old.She decided to give her a haircut that was half of her front head off. Then my eldest DD thought it was so cool,so decided to cut her very long hair up to her ears too 🤤🤤🤤They threw the hairs behing their wardrobes as if i wouldn't noticed it...lol 😂😂😂
I was very horrified and very sad that day that i nearly got a heart attack.Luckily DD2 wasn't at school yet...lol 😂😂😂We still talk about this now and scissors are banned from our house 😂😂😂
Luckily their hairs grew back 😄😃😁

briwig · 08/03/2018 10:17

My cousins all grew up with motorbikes, so when our parents were away one day, we decided to jump on them and may have had an accident. oops!
