We’re working with the team at Legal & General to encourage Mumsnetters to get involved with their #ForeverAParent campaign.

The things you do as a parent will last your children’s lifetime, so Legal & General are asking the nation what it means to be forever a parent. Whether your children are six or 60 years old, starting school or starting a family, you’ll always be the person they turn to for advice when it comes to life’s milestones, that’s because you’ll forever be their parent.

Here’s what Legal & General have to say “Your influence, support and advice will stay with your children always - because being a parent doesn’t stop. We’ve been asking parents across the UK what being Forever a Parent really means to them, as each individual is different, and we’d love to hear your views.”

Share what ‘Forever A Parent’ means to you to be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 Amazon gift card.

Thanks and good luck!

Not to wish the milestones away, they all get there and they are only babies for such a short time.

farhanac · 06/02/2018 16:33

To listen to them and let them know they are heard

JoGodfray · 07/02/2018 11:12

Not to take everything you read in a book as concrete advice. I have 5 children and each one never followed the same routine!! They just don't they are all different!! You can take snippets and mould them into something that works for you!! It can be disheartening sometimes but just try and breath through it!! You will look back one day and tut at yourself!!

Picking your battles, especially as they get older.

Do all the wheel nuts finger tight and then rotate the wheel to make sure it's fully seated before the final tightening,

Cherish every moment with them as it goes so quick

To listen to my heart and raise my children the way I felt was right and not by anyone else's methods or standards. I already knew I didn't want to treat my children the way my parents treated us as children so it was good advice x

Let them cry a bit. Don't ALWAYS be at their beck and call.

spottypjs · 10/02/2018 09:51

Not to worry that you don't know all the answers, you're doing the best you can.

KAKADU2001 · 10/02/2018 09:54

Remember that's your life so live it as you deem fit and not how others think that it should be lived.

ninamotylinski · 10/02/2018 16:29

Nobody is perfect , so don't put pressure on yourself to be and the most important thing is kindness. I try and instill this in my children constantly and If that's all I achieve I will have done a good job

Would be great if you could put closing dates on these.
