We all know that fruit or veg is the healthiest option, but it can sometimes be tricky to get your children eating their 5 a day. With that in mind, Change4Life would like to hear about the ways you make fruit and veg fun so your children happily tuck in to the fruit and veg on offer.

Whether you arrange fruit and veg into faces, create fruit kebabs or have other creative ways to make fruit and veg fun - share your tips and ideas below.

I am happy to say I've never had a problem getting my children to eat fruit and vegetables. I think it's partly LUCK and partly because I have always given them to my children from the start

tabbaz me too, and we have plenty of meals which are basically nothing but veg, which smokes them out. And we buy the freshest, tastiest stuff we can (in season, organic, yada yada)

But starting school has blown it- they are surrounded by the "veg yuck" brigade, and they are quite happy to skip my veg based supper with a belly full of chicken pizza served with potatoes and followed by cake and custard (real menu from our supposedly right-on school). Table manners are out of the window too. Argh!!!

I don't really have a problem with getting mine to eat healthy I think the key is introducing fruit and veg at an early age and not allowing bad choices. I have made porridge with fruit faces and put kale and stronger veg into recipes but more for fun and experimenting rather than desperate measures

My husband and I have both always been vegetarian so eating fruit and veg comes naturally to us. We have brought our daughter up as a vegetarian too and she loves getting her 5 (or more usually 10) a day!

My daughter loves having fruit smoothies and making her own concoctions! She loves making funny faces using fruit on her face plate so she makes them have funny hair and a massive beard and then gives them a shave (in her words) by eating the fruit!

Shes not so enthusiastic about veg but we are getting there using a similar concept with the face plate x

DS is pretty good on his 5 a day and will ask what counts/doesn't. DD is far more picky and needs a bit of deception/bribery from time to time such as tomato sauce in pasta or yogurt raisins.

I have been so lucky in that my DC really like fruit and veg so I've never had to disguise them in cooking.
They'd happily munch on some blueberries instead of chocolate or have an apple instead of a cookie, and they love nothing better than a smoothie - a smoothie maker is the best item in our kitchen and has really helped in saving money against shop bought smoothies.
Guess introducing them to fruit and veg as they were growing up has really helped.

my son is age 11and I still struggle to get fruit and veg in him and have to be inventive! Fun faces etc doesn't work! I hide veg in pasta sauce, make fruit smoothies and cut fruit up onto kebab. I actually thought we would be past this stage now!

We don't really need to as our daughter loves fruit, but to make sure we all get enough fruit have bought a Nutribullet and have great fun making up smoothies!

My daughter doesn't really have any issue eating fruit and veg but my partners daughter can be a bit fussy, so we make little animal faces or smiley faces with the food to encourage her to eat it. It usually works :)

Make them into a smiley face or a nice pattern.

I also read a great tip that involves making them think they have a choice. So instead of saying, 'do you want to eat broccoli?', you would say, 'Do you want three or five pieces of broccoli?'

It works great for getting a massage from my partner too!

Ds is very fussy. Mostly ok with fruit but veg is a nightmare. However savoury muffins, smoothies and getting involved. We won with peas after he popped them from their pods!

We didn't really need to make it fun for our children as others have said we incorporated it into their daily lives form very early on so have been lucky in that they eat plenty of it

We serve veg with every meal, and give them "fun" names, like little green balls, for peas and little green trees for broccoli. It does help that he loves his veg

We make smoothies a lot.

Much cheaper than the shop bought ones!

We use any "old" fruit in the fruit bowl (banana, kiwi etc) and a few frozen fruits (supermarkets sell large bags of frozen mango/berries etc)

It's always popular, and a good way to top up their fruit intake

I tend to let the toddlers pick the veg when we go shopping they tend to be more open to trying new veggies if theyve chosen them themselves.
They arent overly fond of shouts (sprouts) though though they do like trees especially the purple sprouting broccoli from aldi.
Fruit is easy to get them to eat they love most fruits.

No "eat your greens or you won't get any pudding" but more "yum! This broccoli is really tasty today!" kind of approach

I always let my children choose the fruit from the supermarket for the week (within reason of course) and are more likely to eat it as a result. Luckily my children enjoy fruit and would rarely choose chocolate, wish I could say the same for myself.

Smiley faces are always fun with different fruit and vegetables!! Fruit kebabs are always great with the kids too!

I add fruit into the batter when making pancakes, and cream or icecream sundaes are a good excuse to pop more fruit in

Smoothies smoothies and more smoothies! Can get away with sneaking loads of fruit and veggies in. We like strawberries and bananas ( with carrots unknown to the little ones) with yogurt and almond milk. Goes down a treat

Tesco have started butternut squash in shape of stars, haven't tried yet but am planning too - think from frozen too so good for minimising waste
