It all sounds like a lot of fun!
Me: Circus School - I've always wanted to run away to the circus!
DH: Escape Room - because he loves puzzles
DS1 - Games Arcade - because he loves his computer games
DD - Ice Rink - she loves Disney on Ice.

Theimpossiblegirl · 19/09/2017 19:29

Definitely the zip lines and escape room as a family. I'd like the roller disco but doubt my teens would join me. The cinema would be good if it's up on deck, we did that on a Carnival cruise and it was lovely.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2017 19:42

The Ocean Adventure clubs do discos, too, which my kids really enjoyed. I can't speak highly enough of the staff in them, too. Truly international, well-educated, amazing. DS has Asperger's and it was just no problem at all in the kid's club. He was asking to go back after dinner (we always take dinner in the dining room as a family, but you can have dinner any way you like).

If you haven't tried cruising, don't count it out! I certainly did. It was only because my dad really, really wanted us all to go for their 50th wedding anniversary, so off we went on the Navigator for a week - Roatan, Honduras, Belize City, Belize and Cozumel. I was practically in tears that we had to get off! They had to prise my fingers off the gang rail. My kids couldn't get enough and the highlight of their summer is, 'Where are we going cruising?'

Even my dad, now in his 80s, laughed at my sister and me, 'When I die, ya'll are gonna sell my stuff and go on a cruise!' We looked at each other. He said, 'Have the cocktail of the day at sundown, go out on deck and raise a toast to me.'

Some people think they're tacky, others think they're floating petri dishes, heaving all the time (not true), all sorts.

You know what I say to that? More for us then! Smile

So which would you pick and why? I just want to be able to relax onboard , read some books and eat and drink stuff that I haven't had to shop for and cook
What do you think your DP would choose to do onboard? flop about and enjoy the food , drink and doing nothing
And what about the children - please say how old they are - what you think they’d love to try or experience onboard? my children were teens when we went on a Celebruty cruise , they enjoyed the Teen club , with the midnight pool party, the disco , the X box and making new friends

ClashCityRocker · 19/09/2017 20:11

Would love to try indoor skydiving

And ice skating.

Cinema would be good for down time.

rupert23 · 19/09/2017 20:16

there are so many to chose from its fantastic. My son age 10 would love circus skills, dodgems, surf simulator, mini golf, rock wall, roller disco, splash water park and slides and zip lines. My son age 15 likes tallest slide, zip lines indoor sky diving and escape room. they would both enjoy cinema and swimming. they would love this so much and definitely be kept busy. I had no idea that so many activities are available on board. we will have to look into this for a family holiday.

Jengle · 19/09/2017 20:19

My children would love the Cinema, Circus school and escape room.

foxessocks · 19/09/2017 21:34

Dd would like to learn to dance or try ice skating, she is 3. Ds would love the water park he is 1. Dh would like the laser tag! You'd find me reading in the library Grin

ChoccyJules · 19/09/2017 21:39

When we sailed with RC, DD (then 7) loved the kids waterpark, we adults enjoyed the whirlpools and all of us went to mini golf as a family. I would love to go on a ship with an ice rink and we all like the cinema. Laser Tag will also be a fun addition which we'd all do.

Whyisitsodifficult · 19/09/2017 21:51

Wow I had no idea all this stuff was available on cruises, how on earth does the thing stay afloat!? I would love the gym and running around the perimeter, how cool what great views. Also any spa type treatment would be lovely. DS 11 all of it! DS 9 Zip line, laser tag, cinema, all of it! DD4 water park, cinema, mini golf. I still can't believe all that's available!

Alexandra87 · 19/09/2017 22:07

Eldest (7) would choose Xbox games
Middle (6) would choose library
And youngest (2) would choose cinema
They would all absolutely love to try all of it though.

Jamhandprints · 19/09/2017 22:55

We love movies so we'd love the DreamWorks experience. DS's are 3 and 5, still full of imagination and wonder so they'd love it. Shame they can't be trusted near water isnt it? Can't even feed the ducks without falling in. Confused

IPodOverboard · 19/09/2017 23:00

Activities aside, my son's IPod was stolen by a Royal Caribbean crew member. We thought he'd thrown it overboard. Several months later I discovered hundreds of photographs of strange people on cruise ships, on our iPad. The thief had forgotten to turn off the iCloud photo sharing facility.

The photographs clearly showed the thief with even her name badge and crew position clearly on display.

I reported this to Royal Caribbean and was disgusted by their response, or lack of it.

I still have the photographs and it still makes me angry.

Anyway, sorry to derail!

malisa · 19/09/2017 23:31

Definitely water activities where all my family can take a part and have a fun. I would be eager to try as many as I can....roller disco, cinema, indoor skydiving....I am up for any challenge. I think these activities are great for family bonding. We wouldn't had a time to get bored with so many things going on cruise.

notangelinajolie · 20/09/2017 02:07

Three in our little team. Me, my husband and 16 year old daughter.

Dodgems - Definitely my husband's and my daughters domain.
Escape - My sanctuary 😀
Skydiving - I'd be up for that one, all three of us would have a go. A whole family activity I think!
Learning to dance - Time for husband to sit that one out but definitely one for my daughter and me.

TracyKNixon · 20/09/2017 05:32

Never travel without an iPad or tablet - Load your tablet with games, songs, TV shows and Disney films to keep them entertained for as long as possible!

Dixiestampsagain · 20/09/2017 05:46

My DC, 10 and 7, would love the water park and mini golf and would try their hand at anything on offer, e.g dancing, ice skating. We would all enjoy the escape room and Cinema, and I'm sure I would love to try the whirlpool for a bit of relaxation with my DH.

Elizasmum02 · 20/09/2017 05:46

the roller disco sounds like loads of fun!

churchilllounge · 20/09/2017 05:55

Swimming would always be our most popular activity but then we are all like fish and can spend hours in the water.

I've done 2 cruises before but had no idea there were so many activities. Cruises are definitely on my list for our first holiday as a family (when I can cope with bundling them all on a plane!)

Bufferingkisses · 20/09/2017 06:13

Ooh I'd love to try the indoor sky diving!

My kids (13 and 15) would probably love the circus school and laser tag, in fact I'm not sure I'd see them the whole trip!

So would probably take full advantage if the library Grin

Bufferingkisses · 20/09/2017 06:13

So = dp!

ThemisA · 20/09/2017 06:24

Rock Wall
Dodgems
Escape Room
Indoor Sky Diving
Mini Golf
Xbox games

I am a coward so I would probably watch!

renas · 20/09/2017 06:32

The perfect storm water slides they love the water

fuzzywuzzy · 20/09/2017 06:34

Ice rink
Rock wall
Zip lines
Circus school and dreamworks experience sounds interesting

Because my dc are crazy.

I'd be taking care of the baby and napping somewhere out of the way.

Emmap12 · 20/09/2017 06:57

As a family we love to puzzle things out so we would love the escape rooms to do as a family. My boys are 9 and 12. If I managed to grab a couple of hours away from the children I'd love the library 😀
