Now that your children are back at school, you might have a bit more time to yourself to enjoy. But, Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons would like to know what your plans to make sure that you still have everyday shared moments of joy with your children are, and how you plan on making the most of the time you have with your children during term time.

Do you make sure that you have dinner round the table together every evening to catch up with each other’s’ days? Maybe you have a scheduled family film night? Or are you planning fun days out together for the weekends? Whatever your plans, let Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons know by posting below.

All those who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £265 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

Love the days when the children can go separately to Granny for tea after school so that each has that special 1-1 time with Mum / Granny and Grandad. Love that they use that time to share the stuff that matters to them.

Me and my little girl have a cuddle in bed in the morning before getting up and we read a story together when she goes to bed

My daughter loves the drive to her regular dance class on Tuesdays. It's the one time we get exclusive time together, she chats for England so it's never difficult, she loves to select songs from the ipod to listen to together and always asks what song I want on and we always end up listening to JB! Love our time together.

Last term, my son's teacher said he was a bit behind on his reading, so we read books together and give him encouragement to read everyday things like words on Billboards, on the sides of lorries and vans etc. Anything that will help him along.

I miss dd so much now she's at school but weekends fly by and seem to be full of arguments and strops. We try hard to make sure we have family time but every evening she is allowed to stay up a bit later than ds and have some time alone with us which she really needs

Doodygirl2009 · 03/10/2016 14:02

We always complete homework together or on days when there's no homework we read a book together and snuggle up on the sofa

Sammyislost · 03/10/2016 14:23

We've just started up Fish and Chip friday! Obviously we eat fish and chips, but we also choose a family film to watch on the sofa. I even use paper plates - no washing up means more time as family!

We are a busy family & work often gets in the way of meal time & spending time together of an evening, so we always make sure that we spend quality time on a Sunday, cooked breakfast & a day out together enjoying quality family time.

becky004 · 03/10/2016 15:29

Mealtimes are our everyday share time, we have long chats and discuss everyones day. Then at 7pm we all jump into my bed for a couple of hours to have TV time where we take it in turns to choose a show

ClaudetteWyms · 03/10/2016 16:02

DC have dinner either with friends or with me (and DP if home in time). We all have breakfast together most days. I spend some time with DC every day, walking to and from school and chatting about the day/life/nonsense.

DP almost always does bedtime and spends time reading with them every evening. He also does an activity with them at the weekend and I do us a "brunch" afterwards which we all love.

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 03/10/2016 21:08

We will make sure we have quality times together such as, our perfect sunday is being completely snuggled up under the duvet watching a fabulous family film! xx

Maiyakat · 03/10/2016 21:37

Bath time seems to be the only time DD consents to discussing her day! She also like spelling and counting in the bath (for some reason she doesn't like forty though!)

cluckyhen · 03/10/2016 22:38

The warm cup of chocolate and biscuits snuggled on the couch before bed

oatmealcookie · 04/10/2016 00:32

I pick up my son most days from school, and talk to him about his day during the twenty minute walk. We also have a 'round table' discussion at the dinner table when every member of the family takes turns to say something.

spanglisher · 04/10/2016 07:30

Bedtime stories and big hugs at the end of the day

Snog · 04/10/2016 07:49

My DD is 17 so mainly chooses to spend free time with her friends. We have to entice her to spend time with us. She can sometimes be lured into a meal out together and is always up for a trip to London or a city break.
We usually eat together round the table but there's not so much time for snuggling up on the sofa and watching Netflix in term time except when she is ill!

sjl19 · 04/10/2016 10:15

We always discuss my son's day at school on our walk home. I also make sure we have more time to sit down and read a book together in the evening.

wef1984 · 04/10/2016 11:40

We sit and talk about the day they've had and make sure we watch some tv together or play a game

meggysar · 04/10/2016 13:33

Friday night is always family carpet picnic and film night!

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 04/10/2016 13:37

I don't have kids. But I'd feel joy if Cadbury ditched the palm oil, went back to using the original recipes & paid their back taxes. Does that count?

IHaveAToiletBrush · 04/10/2016 13:41

Dh is home from work everyday by 4:30 so we always have a family dinner about 5pm and talk about everyones day. What dc have done at school, dh at work and me at home. It is my favorite time of the day.

dirtypop · 04/10/2016 14:48

dinner around the table altogether, no excuses

jocstoke · 04/10/2016 16:06

I love the bedtime story time. It's the only alone time my son and I have as my husband looks after my four-month-old during it. I really value the cuddles and quiet time after a manic day.

iamsaranna · 04/10/2016 18:05

Always walk the dogs together after school. Once it gets to winter we all make soup together when we get home,

mumpetuk1 · 04/10/2016 20:20

Love catching up on all the talk from their school day around the dinner table
