Now that your children are back at school, you might have a bit more time to yourself to enjoy. But, Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons would like to know what your plans to make sure that you still have everyday shared moments of joy with your children are, and how you plan on making the most of the time you have with your children during term time.

Do you make sure that you have dinner round the table together every evening to catch up with each other’s’ days? Maybe you have a scheduled family film night? Or are you planning fun days out together for the weekends? Whatever your plans, let Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons know by posting below.

All those who post on this thread will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £265 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks, and good luck with the prize draw!

We talk about our day over tea at tea time and I continue to read with my children before bedtime.

Ganne1 · 22/09/2016 08:41

Visiting and climbing over castles, kicking leaves in the autumn, feeding the ducks (that was OK at one time!), buying sausage rolls from Gregg's and eating them al fresco ... Those days are long gone now!

Talking about her day when she gets home takes me back to my schooldays. I am delighted she enjoys school more than I did

bubbleybooboo · 22/09/2016 08:59

my children run in every day to tell me and their dad how they have gone during the day. They are so excited to learn and its lovely to see. My youngest doesnt understand that she only really needs to say what the main parts are but we get told whos before her in the register, whos here and not here, how many times and when shes been out of class to the toilet, who shes sat with at lunch time etc. Shes so funny how she starts... well today i went in and sat on the table next to the window and said yes mrs X when my name came up on the register... Its the little things like this which i love

I love listening to her tell me what has been going on with her day as school is so different now. Last night she played and won her cricket final so was super excited.

I am lucky enough to work part time and be at home to be able to cook the dinner. I always make sure there are plenty of vegetables and fruit in my recipes. Monday is always shepherds pie, with peppers and onions in the mince. I look forward to collecting them from school, sitting down and taking turns listen to what lessons they had, what they ate for dinner, and what games they played at lunchtime. It is a precious time, which I know creates memories, which I hope they will carry on with their families x

Having dinner as a family after school and discussing the goings on off the day is my favourite moment in each day

alsproject · 22/09/2016 10:19

Enjoying the walk back from school. As its autumn, the conkers will be out soon and we can spend time looking for the best one

My Husband and I have date nights but we also have date nights with our children.Life is very busy I most family households and we don't always stop and find the time to have quality time as a family. Our date nights nights are inexpensive and with a little creativity we have date nights doing things such as watching a film, cooking dinner, each child has a chance to chose recipes from all over the world, sitting and really listening to the children to see if they have any worries or good things that have happed,so together we can figure out ways to help solve any issues and celebrate the good news in their lives. Our date nights go on the calender before anything else.

we try and get out and about as much as possible even if it's just an hour down the park for them to enjoy the fresh air and freedom to run about, They love the nature walks and picnics too if it's nice out :)

My son has just started Reception and I miss him loads so I try and make the most of the time before bed everyday, especially reading bedtime stories together

hiddenmichelle · 22/09/2016 10:41

Dinner time is the best. No gadgets, no homework and we can actually talk as we are all together!

southernsun · 22/09/2016 10:47

We make sure we get homework and chores out the way in plenty of time to do a family activity, sometimes thats a story or a game and other times its a walk or run around in the garden.

Annieg1234 · 22/09/2016 11:20

We make sure we eat together every night and on a friday night we have feet up friday where we watch a film, have some popcorn and have a good laugh

marees30 · 22/09/2016 11:21

We always eat together at the end of the day, no mobiles no tv, just family time.

RedRoseMummy · 22/09/2016 11:32

We try to make the tasks they have to do from school part of our shared moments, so reading his school book with my six year old DS after school is time for us to both share the book and discuss his day.

Our other important shared moment is a bedtime story, we read with all three of our children and this is a moment that we always build into our day, even if bedtime is a little later than usual.

lolly2011 · 22/09/2016 12:15

WE have bedtime stories together and the weekend is family time.

sharond101 · 22/09/2016 12:35

We have a Bake Off night all cuddled on the sofa and watching The Great British Bake Off (recorded version as it's on too late live). We eat dinner together every night and talk about our day too.

iut044 · 22/09/2016 12:39

Eating dinner with them everynight .

nicsal05 · 22/09/2016 12:41

My favourite time of the day is tea time, we sit around the table and talk about our day, what's worrying us and what made us laugh, it usually ends up with one of acting out something daft that happened !!!

jandoc · 22/09/2016 12:45

after dinner fun is our best times at the moment

glennamy · 22/09/2016 13:12

For me it has to be bedtime for DD as I make up the stories and DD loves them... sometimes I have her in fits of giggles which are counter productive but with 15 minutes she is always asleep... Priceless!

shroney · 22/09/2016 13:31

we have storytime together after a bath and lots of chat and cuddles.

sarah861421 · 22/09/2016 13:39

doing their homework / reading together. ALSO if you want to know about thier day, try telling them about yours as well. . that makes it seems like a conversation and not an interrogation. if you think your day was boring then their's probably was too
