Lidl, as a proud partner of grassroots football across England, Scotland and Wales, are encouraging children to get involved in football and lead an active healthy lifestyle, but they know that fuelling budding sports stars can be tricky.

So they'd love to hear how you keep your DCs fuelled after charging round a football pitch, netball court, or each other! Maybe you make a mean energy bar to stick in a sports bag - or a super quick supper you can have on the table in minutes after a long game? Whatever it is, share all the details of your recipe, and of course any photos of your food in action would be great too!

Share your ideas below and you will be entered into a prize draw where you could win one of five £50 Lidl vouchers.

chicken pasta, and fresh fruit salads always go down well. My teenage DS's come home ravenous and raid the fridge eating everything in sight.

a Ryvita cracker with peanut butter and apple slices on top, a couple of chocolate chips or shaved chocolate when they've been good. That snacks packs a healthy punch!

My son loves his veg and fruit luckily :) He is also a carb junky so after sport he tends to eat a plate of crunchy veg, chopped apple and melon and hunk of seeded wholemeal bread :) Simple and healthy

Not sure about the healthy....(often its maccyd)
Banana pancakes
Fruit smoothies (usually frozen berries)
Egg n soldiers
Frittata
Pasta salad
Bread and lots more bread - with hummous is popular

Frittata:
Fry chopped onion n garlic. Fry chopped cubed potatoes for about 5 mins. Add chopped peppers and other acceptable veggies (we have fussy kids)
Beat eggs (2 per person) add to mix. Add pepper. Sprinkle grated cheese on top. Stick under grill to cook top.
Serve hot or cold

My girls love poached eggs on toast after their netball and swimming lessons - I cook them in the microwave for extra speed and convenience! Another of our favourite go to snacks in cheese and tomato on toast - quick, convenient, filling and yummy!

Poached egg on toast goes down well here after a sporty after school club. In the summer months my boys prefer chopped up fruit (esp. berries and bananas) with plenty of creamy yoghurt dolloped on top.

Fruit smoothies.
Turkey and avocado wholemeal wraps (lots of fat and protein to keep them going)
Homemade muffins or banana bread (so much less sugar and additives than shop bought ones)
Hummus and veg sticks.
Kebab sticks with cheese and fruit threaded on.

I find it easiest to look at the fruit and veg 'pick of the week'. This week it's; Peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and radishes. All 29p, it's easy what to have for snack for my boys after football, no fuss, just crunchy veg:)

Dinner would then be cottage pie made for under a fiver all fresh from Lidl to feed our hungry family. Here's one we made earlier! :)

Ooh our favourite at the moment are homemade smoothie ice lollies!!

Just blend to make your fav smoothie and freeze in an ice lolly mould.

You can even add slices of fruit as it looks really AWESOME!

Children can easily make these and customize tehm to their own tastes. Bread cut into fingers and coated thinly with a choice of hummus pesto peanut butter cheese marmite mashed vegetables or homemade cooking sauces then toasted microwaved or baked until crisp. They are portable sturdy easy and clean to eat. They contain minimal sugar and plenty of fibre and nutrients. Experiment with your own flavours and sprinkle on seeds and herbs for added variety

My kids are very active, and my 7 year old son is really not bothered about eating, so I make these to fill him up and keep him going. I wanted something to get protein into him.

Peanut Power Bites

3 cups oats
1 cup peanut butter (I use the health food type which is just pulverised peanuts)
1/2 cup set honey

Melt together peanut butter and honey. Stir in oats very well. Leave to mush together for 5-10 mins. Flatten out into a flat tin/tray. Leave to set in fridge for 30 mins, then cut into squares.

Also a good dairy and wheat free alternative to flapjack.

My Dd loves to help me make energy bites.

We use almond butter, coconut oil, various seeds (often depends what is available at the time!)
Almond slices, chopped dried cherries, raisins, cranberries, chopped dates, oats, some honey, chocolate chips and other stuff!

Mix it up, roll into bite size balls and chill! Shove a few in a food baggy and off we go!

Also mini banana muffins.
Eggs in muffin tins - with various accompaniments.
Apple/almond mini cakes (no sugar)

I make my own pizza dough and make individual small pizzas. I load them with lots of cheese, red peppers, sweet corn and chicken.
They go down a treat

Flapjacks made with mashed banana, and with dried fruit in, they are happy because it's yummy and seen as a treat and I am happy because it's healthier than most alternatives!

DS1 is a rower and it is getting serious now. He trains 3 mornings before school, 2 eves and Saturday and Sunday. We have been told to up his calories to at least 4000 as he is losing weight.

He tends to start the day with a few banana/date/walnut muffins (Love your bags of fruit and nuts) and a smoothie made from fresh juice, more banana, mango and berries.

He sometimes has a second breakfast of bacon or sausage butties!

He has a packed lunch at school and supplements it with a school dinner as well. I also pack him some cereal or chocolate bars to eat on the way home.

For dinner it is usually some form of meat and 2 veg, often steak, chips and salad or your salmon fillets, new potatoes and a broccoli and cauliflower mornay. Washed down with a litre of full fat or jersey milk.

For supper he will make himself scrambled eggs or beans on toast or a pizza using one of your nan breads for the base.

I always have a home made cake (lemon drizzle is my best) or biscuits (oaty) on the go as well that he can just help himself to.

Unfortunately I am trying to stick to a slimming world diet and definitely do not need to keep eating with him!!

Flapjacks full of dried fruit and nuts, using honey to sweeten.

Grilled Chicken sandwiches using hummus instead of mayonaise, makes it taste so good. I add some salad in there too, some lettuce and tomato. I change it around a bit and use Tuna instead of chicken sometimes.

I buy plain greek yogurt and add honey and fruit and nuts, as a nice dessert.

I try and keep the food healthy.

I make my DC a simple toasted sandwich after sport.

Just toast 2 slices of wholemeal bread, then add sliced cheese and gherkins or tomato as soon as out of the toaster, so the fillings taste slightly warm.

Always a winner.

I make a homemade healthy buffet of goodies, crustless quiche made with cottage cheese, vegetable sticks with low fat dip, mini thai fish cakes, salad dressed with balsamic and tossed with dried fruit and nuts. For something sweet I put out fruit with a chocolate fondue for a treat!

Bananas after lots of exercise here! My two like to fill up afterwards and I find this the easiest way!

Banana and walnut tea bread from my trusty old Be-Ro baking book. It's the easiest cake in the world to make, is very moist, but is robust enough to be carried around in a kit bag and will fill even my stomach for more than a few minutes.

Frozen fruit lollies are always a hit for snacks or treats. Slices of melon, banana, strawberries, raspberries, pretty much any fruit you have kicking about in the bowl skewered onto a bbq skewer and frozen. If the fruit isn't particularly sweet or ripe, a quick brush over with a bit of honey (for the over 1s!)

We love the following energy bar, as it takes minutes to make and requires no cooking. It's measured in cups so is easy enough for my 4 yr old to make with minimum supervision.
1cup peanut butter
Half cup honey
3 cups oats
Add dry fruit of your choice if you wish

Heat the peanut butter and honey in a bowl for a few seconds in the microwave, then add the oats and fruit. Mix and put in the fridge to harden. Easy!

Oatcakes spread with peanut butter...simple yet effective! I place two with the spreadsides facing each other for a snack on the go.

Bananas are brilliant. They have their own wrapping and provide lots of energy. A handful of almonds or cashew nuts also works well.
