As part of the Disney Healthy Living campaign, this week Disney are launching their new #HealthilyEverAfter week. They’d love to hear about what your top tips are for encouraging your family to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

Here’s what Disney says “We know parents can find it a challenge to ensure their children are eating well and being active - and when they are trying to get their whole family to develop good habits, we believe Disney can help make it fun and simple. The #HealthilyEverAfter campaign uses the power of our stories and characters to inspire these behaviours and encourage parents to share their tips with other families around the UK”

So, how do you encourage your family to embrace a healthier lifestyle? Maybe you’ve created some fun games to get your DCs to keep active? Or perhaps you try to make sure your children are getting a balanced diet and try new foods? Whatever you do to encourage your family to be healthy Disney would love to hear about it.

For more information on the Disney Healthily Ever After campaign and how can you use Disney as inspiration to encourage your family to be healthy, take a look at the video below:

Please note: Disney may well use your anonymous comments on their website, on social media as well as possibly elsewhere.

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered in to a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 Disney Store voucher.

Thanks & good luck,
MNHQ

Lots of walks and playing in the fresh air.

Home cooked food with little to no sugar added.

Make cakes with hidden vegetables, beetroot makes chocolate cake moist, yummy and need less sugar.

I add extra vegetables to meals (like Bolognaise, pasta sauce etc) and try to cook with healthy fats like coconut oil, olive oil etc.

I also do a lot of Pilates and my 3 year old likes to join in Grin it's super cute and also slightly galling how strong and flexible she is without trying.

Lots of outdoor walks and activities as a family.

Cooking from scratch together.

Daisy51129 · 25/02/2016 11:43

My son loves to get involved in cooking and planning meals. Although he'd happily choose pizza every night if he could!! We try to include lots of different foods so he eats a wide range of things. We also strike a balance between his favourite Disney TV programmes and other activities such as playing football or doing Taekwon-Do. It's all about balance!

We have decided that as a family we go for at least two longish walks a week coe rain or shine, sometimes it's on a saturday and Sunday othertimes theres a walk mid-week and another at the weekend, we are fortunate enough to live on the South Coast so we have lots of lovely places for walking to choose from

Take them for days out such as the zoo, the beach and the park. They walk miles without even realising!

HelenRemi411 · 26/02/2016 12:25

I always cook for us as a family, I make sure we all go for long walks sometimes I make quizzes for my boys to make them more fun such as find a triangle or a butterfly they love to be involved and they are buzzing with excitement as a family we also all own bikes keeps us all nice and active!

marshgirl · 26/02/2016 20:15

Lead by example. It is never a problem with fruit and vegetables. We are getting more active by going on walks and cutting down on bad foods is slow in progress. Buying healthy options that I know they like helps, also we don't drive so she has to walk 2 miles to school and back.

Annimousey · 27/02/2016 20:08

We make everything fun. My little boy has a Leapband which acts as a pedometer too and when we tidy up, I make it a fun game where I set him a target time to do it in. :)

We live near the beach so getting exercise and fresh air isn't hard, as soon as it's a dry day we all want to get to the beach and run around.

StandUnderMyUmbrella · 28/02/2016 11:42

If my daughter gets involved in preparing the vegetables, she will eat them!! Strange but worth the hassle!!!!! xx

mumpetuk1 · 28/02/2016 12:14

We have a tick chart with what healthy foods and exercise we have done in the week. Really motivates the kids when they see how well they have eaten and the exercise that they have done

emily13 · 28/02/2016 13:49

Cooking together is good, kids tend to eat healthier stuff if they've helped make it. We love to go on long walks and talk about everything we see.

emmav6 · 28/02/2016 14:30

i love to get the kids involved in growing different food, esp colourful new food like blue potatoes and purple and yellow french beans. this year we are trying popcorn!

cluckyhen · 28/02/2016 17:36

Get everyone involved in planning the meals for the week and then get them to help buy the food and prep #HealthilyEverAfter and

HelenSw4les · 28/02/2016 18:20

Get your family to exercise without realising, cycling, visiting the local park and swimming are excellent ways for your family to keep healthy without the children realising it, they think they're just having fun!

laurapotz · 28/02/2016 20:13

Oh how difficult it is to get my toddler to eat healthily. She just will not eat veggies. If it wasn't for bananas, or grated courgette in omlettes she wouldn't get any fruit or veg in her. I'm hoping it will pass with time and in the mean time I make sure she gets her daily vitamins!

funkyfreks · 28/02/2016 21:05

Walking to school instead of the car, playing eye spy on the way.
Making our own pack lunch, we play which is healthier game... where we pick 2 items and decide which one is better for you by asking questions aboit the sugar / fat content.

danikagrace · 28/02/2016 21:36

stepping out in faith and setting a good example with a smile on your face and showing that it's fun!

omgitslani · 28/02/2016 22:19

If possible, walk to and from school. Encourage play outside, we like to have kick arounds in the garden. Replace food from meals with extra veg or fruit.

rocketriffs · 28/02/2016 22:50

Do regular activities as a family like cycling, swimming, going on a hike etc and make it into an adventure. Outdoors is great and kids love nature.

castleton · 28/02/2016 23:39

Grate veg in mince so the children do not notice it is there

TiggersAngel7774 · 29/02/2016 02:25

get everyone involved in preparing dinner.
Kids more likely to try food they helped create

robyn297 · 29/02/2016 02:41

I tried and tried to get everyone to go for healthy options and it didn't work, so I went to the extreme and made sure that we only have healthy snacks in the house, has made such a difference, they don't even ask for unhealthy foods anymore.

TLAF · 29/02/2016 11:38

Healthy nutritious food - introduce lots of vegetables minced into sauces and meatballs, fruit is the best desert and no fatty/fried snacks
