To celebrate the launch of DisneyLife, the new digital membership service from Disney, they'd love to hear about your favourite Disney films from your childhood and whether you've shared this film with your DCs.

Here's what DisneyLife says "We're so excited to launch DisneyLife, which gives the whole family access to a fantastic collection of Disney and DisneyPixar movies, Disney Channels TV box sets, books, music and more, in one place. DisneyLife will help create magical moments for the whole family to share, so we're keen to hear about your favourite Disney film from childhood and if you've shared a magical moment with your children by watching this together."

So, what was your favourite Disney film when you were a child? Maybe The Jungle Book was your favourite and you would always sing along to the Bare Necessities? Or perhaps you loved Peter Pan and wished you could fly around Neverland? Maybe you watched Pocahontas repeatedly and wanted to learn to paint with all the colours of the wind? Have you shared your favourite Disney film with your DCs?

Whatever your favourite Disney film was, DisneyLife would love to hear about it!

Everyone who adds a comment will be entered in to a prize draw where one winner will receive a £300 Love2Shop voucher.

My favourite was Aladdin. Loved the characters, the songs, the magic and the flying off in the magic carpet over Agrabah!

Eastpoint · 24/12/2015 08:01

My favorite was The Jungle Book. It was the second film I saw at the cinema, the first was Bambi which I really didn't like. I was a child in the 70s and we didn't get a VHS until I was about 15 so I haven't seen most of the Disney films. My own children were scared of them so we never watched them when they were children either. Dd(17) asked why not the other day & I had to explain that she kept refusing. Xmas Sad

stephllewellyn · 24/12/2015 08:25

I loved bambi as a child although it made me cry. Also Lady and the tramp which I remember going to the cinema to watch with my sisters and parents and being so excited as I cant remember us ever going before

WineOrSleep · 24/12/2015 09:35

Has to be the Little Mermaid

I used to spend hours at the edge of our local pool where they had the wave machine doing the "Ariel lifts herself up on the rock whilst the waves rise up behind her" pose

Only the "waves" were more of a trickle behind my ankles

But I felt like a mermaid Grin

even as an adult I would love to go and swim down to Atlantis with King trident

And I still cry everytime when Ariel says goodbye to her daddy Sad

I have vivid memories of seeing the Jungle Book. My sister spent most of her time speeding up and down the aisles and dancing. We had ice cream at the interval, after the 'short' film. I remember for Christmas getting 2 framed pictures of the film, which stayed on my wall until I was probably about 16.

Disney films were a proper 'event' because they were released so rarely - and at the time if you missed it you didn't know when it would be shown again. Even videos were released for a limited time. I remember being really excited at finally getting a copy of 'Fantasia'. I was about 23 by then, and working at Our Price.😃

Before that, the most I got to see of a lot of the films was on the clip shows they showed on Bank Holidays!

As a child my favourite was The Little Mermaid - I still know the words to all the songs! As an adult I'm a little Hmm about the message it sends to young girls though - you must give up your voice in order to marry your prince! Possibly the most unfeminist idea possible. But great songs!

Twighlight · 24/12/2015 12:57

My favourite was definitely Mary Poppins. We used to watch this all the time and sang all the songs.

I also liked The Jungle Book, Robin Hood and Dumbo.

Brings back great memories :)

LondonStill83 · 24/12/2015 13:04

Without a doubt, my favourite was Beauty and the Beast. I know every word backwards and forwards and watch it still when feeling low. I was so excited when I went to Disneyland and met "belle".

However, the first film I ever saw in the cinema was Lady and the Tramp, my dad took me on a "date" when I was four and I felt like SUCH a grown up.

Raahh · 24/12/2015 13:13

I remember we had a showing of Mary Poppins at school- must have been on a film reel- it broke down before the end. We sat in the hall for ages hopin they could fix it, but they couldn't SadWas years before I ever got to see it again. and later ended up with dd1 who watched it ALL THE TIME

I was a child in the days before everyone had a video player at home so it was always a real treat when a Disney was shown on the TV. I loved Robin Hood and remember watching that with my whole family.

When my eldest DC (now 19) was a little girl she was obsessed with Disney films, especially The Little Mermaid and begged me to make her own fishtail which I slaved over for hours. I have lots of happy memories of her singing along and performing her favourite bits. Sadly she is more into Game of Thrones these days.....

Purplehonesty · 24/12/2015 15:28

Oh dumbo for sure. Wasn't that keen on the weird digital bit in the middle but I did love the rest!

I cried every time I watched it though

Groovee · 24/12/2015 17:44

Mary Poppins. My dad introduced me to it one Christmas Eve! As my dad was a manager for Royal Mail at 1pm on Christmas Eve he would finally get home after working solidly since Dec 1st.

I loved it and it's my Christmas Eve movie X

FernieB · 24/12/2015 21:38

First film I saw was Bambi which I loved but my absolute favourite as a child was The Aristocats'. I adored the kittens and made my DDs watch it as soon as they were old enough. They loved Edgar and thought he was hilarious. 'Creme de la Creme a la Edgar' was a dessert in our house for years (just vanilla yoghurt).

Snoopadoop · 24/12/2015 22:43

Was Alice in Wonderland a Disney film. I bloody loved it. We had the tape. I can still remember the songs.

"Cats and rabbits would reside in fancy little houses, they'd be dressed in shoes and hats and trousers"

I loved the singing flowers...

"You can learn a lot of things from the flowers, especially in the month of June."

westcountrywoman · 25/12/2015 01:37

Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Pastamancer · 25/12/2015 09:39

Sword in the stone is my favourite although DD1 wasn't impressed when she watched it. Robin Hood is her favourite, she asks to watch it weekly. She has only seen the Disney classics as I am not a fan of cgi so possibly have the only 3 year old girl that hasn't seen Frozen. She has got The Rescuers, Jungle Book, The Aristocats and Peter Pan for Christmas. I love sitting down watching films from my childhood with her, DD2 is only 9 months so a while yet before she will have the attention span to join us.

EDisFunny · 25/12/2015 10:40

Jungle Book was my favourite. The racism makes me uncomfortable now though; I never recognised it when I was young.

ItsMyFuckingWedding · 25/12/2015 18:08

I loved the little mermaid. I went to Disney on ice with my DDs yesterday and am embarrassed to say I cried when the music started! Good thing it was dark...

Nutellaplease · 25/12/2015 20:53

I remember my dad coming home from work when I was about 5 saying he had a special present. It was a vhs player and the lion king on vhs, I remember how amazed and excited my brother and I were! We watched it continually and I still adore watching it today with my 2 year old dd, it doesn't get boring and the music is phenomenal.

taz10 · 26/12/2015 00:38

lady and the tramp

sisi99 · 26/12/2015 00:40

my favourite is Micky Mouse

prwilson · 26/12/2015 00:45

I liked the animated Robin Hood - I remember going to see it in torrential rain and taking my shoes and socks off to dry in the cinema.

tiddles12 · 26/12/2015 01:05

Mine was Snow White but I am very fond of The Jungle book as we took our son aged 2 to see it and he danced down the aisles

glennamy · 26/12/2015 01:16

Easy... Bedknobs and Broomsticks - 1971, still stands the test of time after all these years as my daughters (19 & 2) love it as much as I do & I saw it when it was first released at the cinema. A Christmas Tradition.

hdh747 · 26/12/2015 01:30

My favourite was sleeping beauty. I loved the fairies.
