This years insight tests have been fabulous. The introduction of photos has really made a difference. I really enjoyed the B&Q garden make over challenge and had so much fun with DH and DCs planning, shopping, improving and the enjoying the new garden. It was inspiring to see what the other mumsnetters were doing and the pictures.

The Cloudy 2 screening was a great event. The DCs loved every minute of it and still talk about it. The event was really well planned and executed.

I also enjoy reading about the smaller product tests and other mners feedback and tips.

Next year it would be good to see more family orientated tests and family gadgets. I need all the hints and tips I can get for improving the organising and running of the family home.

Thank you MN

We've really enjoyed product testing.
The Coleman's trial was great, we've continued using their products in this way.
We were selected for the cadbury pebbles, but felt quite inadequate when we saw the masterpieces everyone else had produced!
We've trialled a few cleaning products.
I'd love to be involved in screenings next year, or testing days out.
I'm always happy to trial gadgets, new food/drink products and services.

I enjoyed doing the surveys, was glad I could maybe make a difference to SOMETHING!!

I wish that I had been selected to test SOMETHING! ANYTHING!!! I would have loived to do it. Crossing my fingers I might get picked this year...

I enjoyed reading about products and services, for if/when I get the chance to change, I can make more of an informed choice....particularly the Toyota Auris...(DH would love one)

Product test next year? Lots more family-friendliness...would love a campaign to get changing/feeding rooms in all shopping centres....I live in the North West and we are particularly badly done-to. More toys covering more ages, more household products/tech. Train and bus companies family-friendliness (to shame some of them into it???). I have loved doing everything I have been asked to!!

Katie :( good lick with all you do.

I've really enjoyed testing the organix stuff with dd2. I'mpretty sure sshe's enjoyed it too!!

I got to test the pebbles too but like most cadburys products, they weren't as good as I would have thought :(

The cleaning stuff has been great.

I can't wait to see what is up to test in 2014 :)

I've enjoyed my first year as a panel member. The Method detergent test was particularly good as this was a brand we hadn't tried before and have continued to use it since.

Food tests always go down well in our family and are a good excuse to try something new - hopefully will get our Flora voucher soon to compete that test. Toy tests would also be very popular!

Hi
I particularly enjoyed the blossom hill vie one! The whole family enjoyed the schwarz cooking one and trying the new dishes.
Would love to test more toys and cleaning products as I tend to stick to the same old favourites because I daren't risk buying a dud!
Good luck on your new job Katie!
Happy new year to all of mumsnet Smile

I get my years mixed up and I can't remember what I did this year. I don't think I got selected for much, but I like doing product trials if it's something I'm interested in. We also tried the Method laundry soap and we still use it but I didn't bother entering a lot of the other product trials.

I'd like to see tests for less house-wifey stuff. I know that companies want testers that are likely to buy their products, but my interest in cooking and cleaning is pretty limited. Some DIY and gardening stuff would be good. Days out would be great too!

Ooh I just had another idea of good product tests. Coach day trips. Especially for people/groups/couples/families etc where no one drives or they have no car who might rely on such public transport-y ways to have a nice day out somewhere. It could be in the guise of mystery shopping and we would give feedback on how well families were catered for on those trips?

Anything Midlands-y based is a major win, too! ;)

I haven't been selected to test anything as yet, but I did commemt on a thread ad a non tester for the Colemans thing, and won £150 M&S vouchers which has kept me in buffet food all through Christmas.

I would be up for testing anything, especially home and cleaning things and skincare. Would also like to fo some family activities/movie screenings

My children have enjoyed creating recipes with the food items we have been sent but I haven't been lucky enough to have been selected for any gadgets which I would love. I wouldn't mind trying out a car either! I seem to be sent offers sporadically - none for ages then three together. Has been a fun 1st year for me though!

I loved the Mr Muscle Touch Up. And we always love food so Flora Buttery was welcome. And Fruit n Fibre bread (was that this year?). British Red Cross taught me heaps. Always keen to test age appropriate toys

I don't seem to have been chosen for much this year either Sad ! I tried the method (was that this year?), which I love and still buy, and the Mr Muscle touch up cleaner, which I was very skeptical about, but I really liked! I was also selected for the Flora Buttery, but the voucher never arrived. My best thing was probably the family cinema tickets, which I won and was very grateful for. Ooh - I was not selected for it, but reading all the positive comments on the Cif thread made me buy it - I'd not have even considered it otherwise.

For the future? More of the same, there have been some amazing trials this year. My other thought was could you revisit some of the trials - especially for the bigger-ticket items - eg 1yr, 18 mths on? It'd be really interesting to see how often people really use the steam mops, how the youview boxes etc last...

I got a Tassimo coffee machine which was and is fabulous! Love it.

Also did Cadburys Pebbles which was fun with ds2.

I would like to test days out for children, restaurant reviews and more foodie products.

Thanks Mumsnet.

We did the extended Rav4 test drive and it was fabulous. I have just watched the video for the first time. We are going to replace both cars this year, so this really gave us food for thought.

Housekeeping trials are always of interest to me. I am hugely influenced my MNers opinions!

what you've enjoyed doing insight-wise this year or what you've appreciated reading about
~ Post on the thread any suggestions for product tests etc you'd like to see next year (no promises but we can try!)

I've only been selected for a couple of things this year - the 1stfone mobile phone product test and the Morpurgo edition of Pinocchio - but have filled in lots of surveys.

Being selected for the 1stfone was fantastic. DD1 (aged 8) was the tester and she was pleased that although it worked like a phone there was no way anyone would want to mug her for it...not that they were likely to when she was at ballet or orchestra! We chose to keep the phone when the trial ended as we liked how it worked i.e. no digit buttons, can only call the numbers it's programmed to, friendly customer service people. At a festival in the summer DD proudly wore her 1stfone around her neck with her festival lanyard. Lots of people asked her/us about it and these days she wears it quite happily when she goes off to orchestra etc.

The Pinocchio book was a lovely pre-Christmas surprise.

In 2014 I'd like there to be lots of product tests for things such as days out, holidays (that don't have to be taken in term-time) and hi-tech gadgets that 'everyone else' in DD1's class already owns!

If that's not possible then how about a Government Minister-Mumsnetter job swap? I'll nominate myself to swap roles with Michael Gove for a week or two...

Hello there, I have just joined the panel so am looking forward to getting to know everybody and reviewing any products you think are suitable. If I could choose one product to review this year it would be a Dyson as my 9 year old model is on its last legs!

All the best to you KatieBMumsnet in whatever new ventures you pursue.

I loved the Ovo research panel and still have a few months left of that one.I'd love to test more household appliances and time saving devices i the kitchen especially. It would be good to test kitchen gadgets and more games for children. Maybe pet foods and washing liquids etc would be good too.
How about testing and reviewing spa days or even weekends! Local hotels would also be great!
