EE have asked us to find out what the strangest thing is Mumsnetters have ever been asked to share.

Here's what EE have to say, "We're the UK's biggest mobile network and we've just created Shared 4GEE Plans. They are a new way for your household to share a pool of data across your devices from phones to laptops to tablets and still save money.

A Shared 4GEE Plan allows your whole family to enjoy the fastest speeds on EE's 4G network. It works by letting you share your data allowance across up to 5 devices whether they are 4G ready or not, and everyone can enjoy unlimited minutes and unlimited texts too. Even better, it's less money than having everyone on separate mobile contracts and you get it all on one simple bill. Shared 4GEE Plans are unique to EE and we want to celebrate their launch by asking you how sharing fits into your busy life.

We recently conducted a survey asking Mumsnetters what they would share and only 3% of respondents would be willing to share their toothbrush, which got us thinking - what is the most unusual item you've ever shared or have been asked to share?"

Perhaps a neighbour once asked to borrow your brand new car? Or your colleague asked for half your sandwich? Maybe your LO has been known to make strange requests to have share something? Where do you draw the line when sharing?

Everyone who adds their thoughts to this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a HTC One Mini handset worth £365. For full T&Cs please click here.

Please note your comments may be used (anonymously of course) on EE's pages on MN, social media channels and possibly elsewhere.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

Ive told this one before, but....

When my DD was tiny, (maybe 14 months) my DH was working in Holland. we took a flight out to see him for a long weekend, and ended up sitting next to a very drunk couple.

I had packed a little box of snacks for DD, including some little marmite sandwiches. The woman nicked them, one by one, and when told off by her partner for stealing the baby's food, wailed "but I like marmite sandwiches!"

winkygirl · 27/10/2013 08:12

DH and I were on holiday in Rhodes and got a taxi back to our apartment. Halfway there the taxi driver spotted another couple trotting along, pulled over and asked us to "budge up" to let them in. He then dropped them off and finally us. Still charged us full whack [huff]

My lovely uni flat mate ran out of clean underwear and asked to share mine. I said yes and then sniggered all day imagining the 6ft3 rugby player wearing my frilly knickers.

k8vincent · 28/10/2013 09:44

A friend once asked me if they could have half a piece of the piece of gum I was already chewing.

DwellsUndertheSink · 28/10/2013 10:14

hahaha ....my DD borrowed a pair of my knickers as she hadnt put hers in the wash....she is a size 8. I am a size 20. SHe tied them in a knot on eat side. And complained they were REALLY uncomfortable!

(I did ask her why she didnt borrow some of her brothers boxers instead. SHe said because they would ridiculous Grin )

DwellsUndertheSink · 28/10/2013 10:15

each side, obviously.

I remember at primary school when another Mum wanted me to share my Chicken pox with her children! I was happy to , although it didnt make my spots go away! I had already "shared " my brothers, but he got about 10 spots and I had hundreds - and they were everywhere!!!!!! I couldnt sit down, or swallow!

tinypumpkin · 28/10/2013 21:06

Make up lady on my wedding day.

Ruby6918 · 29/10/2013 11:40

a neighrbour asked could they share my driveway as they had got a new car and didnt have a driveway and were adraid of their car getting damanged on the street!, i foollishly said yes and then both of us had to then squeeze our cars in together it was a nightmare getting in and out and there was no path, after about two weeks i had to say it was doing my head in in a polite manner! and she has not spoken to me since !!

I was asked to share our tent with another family on a camping weekend. I have forgotten exactly what went wrong with their tent, but we have a massive tent with 2 'bedrooms'. Normally dp and I are in one side and dc in the other. This time we had me, dp, dd and ddog crammed into one side and 3 members of the other family in dd's 'room'. (Their older son didn't want to know and slept in the car.) It was very cozy Grin but I'm glad it was only for one night.

telsa · 30/10/2013 17:58

I shared tartiflette with someone in a restaurant. Jolly nice it was too, but you could only get it for two and no-one on the guy's next to me's table wanted to share with him. So, I stepped in, even though I didn't know him. It was a little weird 'breaking the bread' with a stranger, but it was a lovely dish, and I didn't catch any germs, as far as I know. .

telsa · 30/10/2013 17:59

the other weird sharing thing is chicken pox. Nice!!!

BeesFleas · 31/10/2013 12:29

My flatmate at uni and I shared clothes. We were the same size, but our styles were very different, so it was interesting for each of us.

Eastpoint · 31/10/2013 19:33

My husband. My husband's sperm for a friend whose husband had had a vasectomy. No both times (different people).

sharond101 · 31/10/2013 20:29

My Mum asked if she could share my epilator, erm, no, how disgusting!

Bubbles85 · 01/11/2013 08:24

Ugh! The toothbrush sentence bought back some horrible memories of having to share a toothbrush with my then boyfriend who had forgotten his when staying over at mine one evening. I had planned to not use it again but forgot and realised a couple of days later. Nice! Nothing stranger than that comes to mind unfortunately.

ThePortlyPinUp · 01/11/2013 08:33

Very similar to some of the others, my size 10 toned friend asked to borrow a pair of my tights last weekend, I'm a size 22 and at least 6 inches shorter than her. She still took them even when I pointed out they would be too big Grin

Jinty64 · 01/11/2013 13:48

My lunch. Our clinic ran over (not unusual) and the canteen was shut. Unfortunately it was a public holiday and the tea room and little shop weren't open. I was the only one with a packed lunch but we found some cup a soups and had a few bites each!

Happiestinwellybobs · 01/11/2013 14:03

My dog always wants to share my food with him. But he is a Labrador, so to be expected.

My toddler wants to share anything I have... my bra(!), the toilet when I am on it, my food, my iPad....

The most strange thing was when I went back to uni and went on a residential after the first month. I was asked to share a room, possibly bed, with a stranger. Erm... No thanks.

Queen0fFlamingEverything · 01/11/2013 18:17

My mooncup!

Was at a festival when a friend of a friend asked me if I had any tampons. I told I was sorry but I used a mooncup. She only asked if I had it with me, because she'd always been curious about them anyway Shock

I said no. There are some things that really should remain single user.

LydiaLunches · 01/11/2013 18:24

Breastmilk - I actually have no objection to sharing it in the usual way but a friend wanted me to squirt some on her baby's sticky eye and I don't know why but I just couldn't do it!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 01/11/2013 18:27

my honeymoon! to be fair we had booked the hol to see a friend of DH's in Canada way before we decided to get married but it was odd when part of the trip involved some touring and we shared a room with him (seperate beds) NOT quite the sex laden hol I had imagined Grin

FreeWoooooooo · 01/11/2013 22:25

My DD loves offering to share her half eaten pitta bread bits with me. Err no it's OK I've got my own lunch thanks!

I've been asked to share a table in a restaurant when we were on touring holiday. The request might not seem that strange, nor the fact the two lads we were asked to share with we're the closest in age to us in the group. But my goodness dragging a conversation out of them was the hardest small talk I've ever endured. I have even been complimented by friends in the past for my small talk chat abilities. However, they were well and truly tested to the limit that night.

2kidsintow · 01/11/2013 23:02

My clothes is a favourite of mine to share. I go to a formal dinner once a year. I own some lovely monsoon/coast/debut creations and rarely wear them more than once (luckily I get them on ebay so they don't cost too much). My friend has borrowed many a dress for a special occasion from Boutique 2kids.
